Man Shoveling Snow Falls For a Full 9 Seconds
Man clearing snow falls over for nine seconds before throwing away his shovel in anger
A man shoveling snow has captured the attention of many as he flails after slipping on ice as he cleared a sidewalk. The nine second clip starts relatively normally as the gentleman appears to be making a path.Then, all hell breaks loose as the man takes a stumble too far.
Within an instant he loses his balance and attempts to rescue himself by using the trusty shovel for support.His attempt almost succeeds but such is the buildup of ice over recent days, the plastic spade simply slides right off of it.At one point the man touches the powdery snow with his gloved hands to rescue himself and at one point it almost looks as though he is shoveling again.
Amazingly, despite ending up virtually horizontal, the man managed to remain on his feet.Clearly fed up by the whole experience, he throws the shovel away out of sight of the camera once it's all over. The video has gone viral as a frozen northeast continues to shiver.
Others aren't bought so easily with numerous people suggesting the video is fake or at least staged in some aspect.

Shocking video captured a school guard in Midwood, Brooklyn hurling another man who entered a yeshiva while children were inside.

Niagara Falls Freezes Over
Extreme winter weather has been causing problems for millions across the East Coast, but it has also made for some beautiful sights. Among those beautiful sights is Niagara Falls, which has now frozen over due to temperatures which dropped to 16F on Wednesday.
And it looks like the popular tourist destination may stay frozen, as temperatures are expected to drop even lower come Thursday.
The attention the Falls is receiving is bringing a crowd to view them in their majestic, winter splendor! Yet another arctic blast is set to strike the central and eastern United States on Thursday bringing sub-zero temperatures to many parts.
In fact, almost the entire East Coast, including parts of Florida, will reach below freezing temperatures on Thursday night. In New York City, temperatures will stay in the teens all day Thursday and by nightfall will be in the single digits and possibly even below 0, making it the coldest it has gotten in the city during this already brutal winter. The cold weather will also bring with it high winds, this time some reaching 40 mph in areas.

Remote Controlled Car Rescued by RC Tow Truck
The oddly compelling footage, shot in Magog, Canada last month, shows the exploits of a remote controlled car as it ventures out onto a frozen lake. Using cameras installed in the vehicle, viewers can watch as the car becomes stuck in a patch of thin ice shortly after it embarks on its exploratory mission.
Luckily for the owner help was at hand in for the form of a nifty remote controlled rescue truck, complete with a robotic arm and snow chains. Using a second on-board camera, the footage shows the modified truck retracing the steps of the first vehicle, before a nail-biting rescue bid unfolds.
The robotic arms can be seen struggling for a moment as it tries to attach itself to the stricken car, but eventually manages to hook a tow-lead to the bumper, before pulling it back to safety.

Huge Explosion as Oil Train Derails in West Virginia
A train carrying more than 100 tankers of crude oil has derailed yesterday February 16 2015. in southern West Virginia, sending at least one tanker into the Kanawha River and igniting at least 14 others that caused a house fire, officials said.
One person was being treated for potential inhalation issues, but no other injuries were reported, according to a news release from CSX, the train company.
Nearby residents were told to evacuate as state emergency response and environmental officials headed to the scene about 30 miles southeast of Charleston.
The state was under a winter storm warning and getting heavy snowfall at times, with as much as five inches in some places. It's not clear if the weather had anything to do with the derailment, which occurred along a flat stretch of rail.

As they covered road conditions from Mercury Boulevard in Hampton, the news camera was rolling live when an SUV careened out of control, crashed into another vehicle, then came barreling straight toward the camera, stopping within inches. Fortunately, Erin and Rob were not standing at the camera at that moment. They were in the live news truck parked nearby.

Rally For Release Of Yeshiva Students From Prison
Thousands of haredi men and women took to the streets of Jerusalem Monday night to celebrate the release of four yeshiva students from military prison.
They staged the celebration for the yeshiva students who were arrested for refusing to report to IDF enlistment offices when called to do so.
Yeshiva students sang and danced while joyful Jewish music blared out from massive speakers along the length of the route down which the participants marched. The rally was approved by the Jerusalem Police and large sections of Bar Ilan street and other thoroughfares were closed to traffic.
Rallies staged by the Jerusalem Faction frequently turn violent at the close but there was no violence by time of press. The four boys who were feted at the rally, Naftali Rishi, Eliyahu Goldberg, Haim David Halva and Shlomo Zalman Miller were arrested by military police last month.
They are all associated with the Jerusalem Faction which is headed by Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach, a haredi leader who opposes any cooperation with the government over the issue of haredi enlistment to the army. Rabbi Auerbach has instructed yeshiva students associated with his faction not to present themselves for preliminary procedures at IDF enlistment offices, even though this renders them liable to arrest by military police for draft evasion.

Tel Aviv Mayor Predicted Reporter's Death 3 Years Ago
After spending decades traveling to war zones to report for CBS News and 60 Minutes, Bob Simon was killed in an accident while sitting in back seat of his town car in New York City at the age of 73. Now in a bizarre coda to this tragic story, it turns out that very death was predicted by the mayor of Tel Aviv during a story Simon reported in that Israeli city in 2012.
In the 60 Minutes piece, highlighted by Haaretz’s Allison Kaplan Sommer on Thursday, Simon was talking to Mayor Ron Huldai about the dangers of living under the threat of rocket fire from Gaza when the mayor turned around and offered up what is now an eerie premonition about his death.
“If I look behind you, pointing to Gaza, there are hundreds of rockets, Katyushas pointing at Tel Aviv,” Simon told Huldai. “If you look that way, there are thousands of missiles from Hezbollah pointing at Tel Aviv. How do you deal with that?”
“What else can we do?” the mayor replied. “When you go out of your home in New York, you have the chance to get in a car accident.”
“Yes, you have the chance to get in a car accident but you know that New Jersey doesn’t have missiles pointing at you,” Simon reasoned.
“Yes, but in life you know you have a lot of risks. Always!” Huldai said in response.
There is no way he could have known how true that statement would become. Perhaps not exactly a prediction, but definitely a very strange and creepy coincidence....

Terror In Denmark: Shooting at Copenhagen Synagogue
Danish police shot and killed a man early Sunday suspected of carrying out shooting attacks at a free speech event and then at a Copenhagen synagogue, killing two men, including a member of Denmark’s Jewish community. Five police officers were also wounded in the attacks.
Officials have not identified the perpetrator but say it is possible he was imitating the terror attacks last month in Paris in which Islamic radicals carried out a massacre at the Charlie Hebdo newsroom followed by an attack on Jews at a kosher grocery store.
Denmark’s chief rabbi said the Jewish victim of an attack near Copenhagen’s main synagogue on Sunday was an “irreplaceable” security guard protecting the city’s Jewish community.
Rabbi Jair Melchior said Dan Uzan, 37, was guarding a celebration at a Jewish community building near the synagogue when he was shot dead.“He was a person who was always willing to help. An amazing, amazing guy,” said Melchior, speaking from Israel’s international airport before boarding a return flight to Copenhagen.
There are an estimated 6,000 to 7,000 Jews in Denmark, including about 2,000 active members of the Jewish community, which operates its own security patrol that coordinates with police to protect Jewish institutions.
