An extremely close call for WAVY News 10 reporter Erin Kelly and photographer Rob Rizzo during Monday’s winter weather coverage.
As they covered road conditions from Mercury Boulevard in Hampton, the news camera was rolling live when an SUV careened out of control, crashed into another vehicle, then came barreling straight toward the camera, stopping within inches. Fortunately, Erin and Rob were not standing at the camera at that moment. They were in the live news truck parked nearby.
