A remarkable search effort that stretched across the country has come to a successful conclusion, as a 78-year-old woman missing for 10 days was safely located, thanks in large part to the relentless efforts of Chaverim of Rockland.

The case, which began in New York, quickly expanded nationwide, with leads and coordination reaching as far as Los Angeles. Despite the challenges and the passage of time, volunteers refused to give up, working tirelessly around the clock to track down any possible information that could lead to her whereabouts.

Through persistence, coordination, and sheer determination, Chaverim of Rockland ultimately played a key role in locating the missing woman, bringing an emotional and relieved end to a days-long search that had many concerned.

Top Finalists from 25 Countries Compete for International Torah Title

Regional champions from 25 countries compete for the title of JewQ International Champion in the finale of the International Jewish Knowledge Competition. The high-stakes event culminates a program that reached over 4,200 young scholars across 250 communities, many the only Jewish students in their schools, studying independently amid growing challenges facing Jewish youth.

The finalists on stage today in front of 1200 family, friends and fans. They represent the top performers from the world’s largest network of Jewish children who studied independently, often outside of school hours, to master the JewQ “Living Jewish” curriculum. The competition is the centerpiece of the CKids International Shabbaton, the largest summit for Hebrew School families in the world, hosted by CKids, Chabad’s global children’s network, which reaches 175,000 children across 2,700 classrooms and 750 Hebrew Schools.

“In today’s world, there’s no greater gift for a Jewish child than knowing who they are,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Chairman of Chabad's Global Networks. “JewQ gives them that clarity and deep understanding. Win or not, these kids return home, proud, confident, and unshakably connected to their heritage.”

JewQ’s unique format turns Torah education into an engaging challenge. Through a combination of gamified learning and independent study, children absorb key concepts in Jewish life and tradition, often in communities where Jewish education is otherwise limited.

JewQ is inspired by the educational philosophy of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, who emphasized that children are not only future leaders, but leaders today. He taught that a child’s natural competitive spirit and excitement to learn and share knowledge are powerful forces for strengthening Jewish life.

The championship features a fast-paced quiz format, celebrity guest appearances, and a moving award ceremony. While only the finalists are competing today, their peers, thousands of them, are watching from around the world, many gathered in their local Chabad centers to cheer them on.

3 Survivors of Bondi Attack at Chabad Shluchos Banquet

EDISON, N.J.—Sunday evening saw some 5,000 Jewish women leaders and guests from around the world gather for the gala banquet of the 35th annual International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Women Emissaries.

Held at the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center on the eve of 22 Shevat, the 38th anniversary of the passing of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson, of righteous memory. The glittering event brought together emissaries from some 100 countries for a night of prayer, remembrance, celebration and rededication to their mission serving Jewish communities across the globe.

Three young women from Sydney, Australia, took the stage to lead the assembly in recitations of chapters of Psalms.

Chaya Dadon, 14, who shielded two children with her body during the terror attack at Bondi Beach last Chanukah, introduced herself simply: “I am a young shlucha (emissary of the Rebbe) from Australia.”

She spoke of the harrowing moments when bullets rained down at the Chanukah event, but emphasized that her actions didn;t come from courage. “It came from deep within my neshamah, my soul,” she told the crowd. “I heard G‑d’s voice guiding me.”

This, she explained, is what it means to be a shlucha of the Rebbe: “When the moment comes, you find the strength to act, to be there when it matters most.”

A video presentation then featured Priva Schlanger, eldest daughter of Rabbi Eli Schlanger, who was murdered in the attack, alongside Mina Levitan, daughter of Rabbi Yaakov Levitan, who was also killed that day. The video showed the young women in their roles as budding Chabad emissaries in Sydney.

Emotional Tribute Hours After Hospital Discharge

Just four hours after being discharged from the hospital, Bondi teroroist shooting survivor, Leibel Lazaroff took the stage at the Sydney Opera House.

The event, attended by Australia’s Prime Minister and other national leaders, saw Lazaroff share his powerful message of resilience, faith, and community in the wake of the tragedy.
