Highlights: Dirshu Siyum - Cooper Box Arena - London

A Transformative Day

The event held at this massive venue in London was deeply emotional because first and foremost it featured addresses from Gedolei Yisrael and was attended by Rabbanim from throughout England and even from Belgium and Switzerland. The simchas haTorah was enhanced by some of Klal Yisrael’s most talented mezamrim including Boruch Levin, Motti Steinmetz, Zanvil Weinberger, Hershy Weinberger, and the Malchus Choir accompanied by the elite symphony orchestra led by R’ Mona Rosenblum.

The drashos and siyum were interspersed with beautiful niggunim as well as a beautiful medley featuring the magnificent songs of the late composer and choir master of the London School of Jewish Song, R’ Yigal Calek that electrified the crowd.

Multiple Injuries After Hadluka Explodes

Up to thirty people have been injured in an explosion at a Hadluka celebration in London that may have been sparked by a mobile phone.

A crowd of hundreds had gathered in Stamford Hill to observe Lag BaOmer, a festive day on which bonfires are a common tradition.

Footage of the incident showed a bonfire about to be lit with the sound of singing in the background as many people were stood within a few metres. Suddenly, a huge fireball erupted over the entire crowd. People panicked and ran screaming from the scene, witnesses said.

London Ambulance Service and the Jewish volunteer ambulance service Hatzola attended and treated "multiple patients" for burn injuries. The severity of the injuries is currently not known.

The cause of the explosion also remains unclear although several witnesses claimed a mobile phone had been thrown onto the bonfire.

Terrifying: Car Ploughs into Jewish Shoppers in London

Two people were injured Wednesday, one of them critically, when a car driving through a prominent Jewish neighborhood in London mounted the sidewalk and crashed into a storefront.

Police said the crash on Golders Green Road appeared to be an accident, and did not make any arrests.

The incident occurred shortly before midday local time, in the heart of Golders Green, home to one of the capital’s main Jewish communities. Eyewitnesses said the streets were busy with shoppers preparing for the Passover festival, which begins on Friday night.

Security camera footage of the crash showed a silver Jaguar mount the sidewalk with a man clinging to the hood. The vehicle then careened along the sidewalk, plowed into an elderly male pedestrian and then continued on to crash through the front of a pharmacy.

People in the vicinity immediately ran to help with rescue efforts. According to eyewitnesses, one person was trapped under the vehicle until emergency services were able to extricate him.

The London Air Ambulance landed nearby and then flew one of the injured to a hospital, the Daily Mail reported. The driver of the car was also taken away in an ambulance.

The Community Security Trust, a charity organization dealing security for the British Jews, confirmed in a tweet that the crash appeared to be an accident.

The crash caused the usually busy road to be closed as emergency services dealt with the incident.

The Jewish community watch group Shomrim North West London said in a statement that police had asked that it reassure the community that “this has not been classed as a deliberate attack or incident.

Massive Fire at London High-Rise Apartment Building

At least six people have been confirmed killed in a huge fire that ripped through a west London tower block, but police expect the death toll to rise.

Up to 600 people are believed to have been inside Grenfell Tower's 120 flats when the blaze tore through the 24-storey building in the early hours.

Twenty people are in critical care after 74 injured people were taken to hospital. But many are still missing after residents were left trapped on upper floors as flames rapidly ripped up the block after initially being told to stay in their homes.

Residents who escaped spoke of others trapped and screaming for help, with some throwing children from windows and others jumping from upper floors. Some were reported to have attempted to use bin bags as makeshift parachutes.

Pictures showed flames engulfing the block and a plume of smoke visible across the capital, while others showed desperate residents looking out of windows in the block.

In a sign of hope, survivors were still reportedly being pulled from the block nine hours after the blaze started.

As an investigation into the cause of the fire began, residents reported that fire alarms had not sounded and that they were told to "stay put" in their flats and "put a wet towel down by the door".

Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, said: "There will be a great many questions over the coming days as to the cause of this tragedy and I want to reassure Londoners that we will get all the answers."

More than 250 firefighters were called to the block on the Lancaster West Estate, in north Kensington, at about 1am. Several firefighters also suffered minor injuries in the blaze.

Staging News Before Making the Report

CNN is dismissing critics who claim the network staged a demonstration to make Muslims look sympathetic in light of the weekend terror attacks in London.

A video uploaded online showed CNN correspondent Becky Anderson preparing to narrate video of a group of Muslims holding up signs in solidarity with the victims of the attacks.

Before Anderson begins her reporting, the demonstrators are seen being guided by police into a spot together so that the camera can frame the shot in an area that had been blocked off by police.

"This story is nonsense," CNN said in a statement. "The group of demonstrators that was at the police cordon was being allowed through by officers so they could show their signs to the gathered media. The CNN crew along with other media present simply filmed them doing so."

The rampage in London on Saturday night involved a car plowing into a crowd and knifemen stabbing pedestrians. At least seven were killed and nearly 50 were injured.

Man Threatens Jews With Meat Cleaver

An unidentified man waving a meat cleaver and a large knife who allegedly threatened Jews in a heavily Jewish neighborhood in North London was arrested.

The man reportedly tried to enter a kosher food shop during the incident on Tuesday but was prevented from doing so when staff locked the door, according to a statement issued by the London-based Campaign Against Antisemitism.

He then entered a second kosher store shouting “Where is the boss, I will kill him!” Told that the owner was not there, the man allegedly ran out of the shop toward two Jewish girls, aged 8 and 14, shouting “You Jews run away from here before I kill you.”

The incident took place in the Stamford Hill neighborhood of London, which includes many Charedi Orthodox residents.

Shomrim, the volunteer Jewish neighborhood patrol, tracked the man as he entered an apartment block and sealed off the area, allowing London Metropolitan Police to arrest him, according to reports. Police said the man was white and in his 60s.

London Traffic Police Sparks Brawl with Chasidic Jews

A traffic warden was bundled to the ground by a group of Orthodox Jewish men after he tried to run one of them over with his motorized scooter.

Astonishing video footage shows the warden mowing down one of the group, before his bike arches up and smashes down onto a man as he tumbles into the road. The shocking incident unfolded after the group confronted the warden as he tried to flee the scene in Hackney, north London.

It is not known how the confrontation erupted, but before the collision eye-witness footage shows the warden hit some of the men with his helmet - after wildly swinging it around like a weapon. After the warden is thrown from his scooter, footage shows the group, who appear to be Orthodox Jews, grappling with the man and holding him face down on the floor by his arms.

Police confirmed the incident happened at around 1.50pm on Monday.

The warden allegedly told the men he 'would come back later with my boys' after an initial altercation in which the group said they would 'report him to the council for misconduct'.

However, it was also reported the warden was 'surrounded by eight-to-10 Orthodox Jews' before the attack, with the group said to be 'following him' and 'blocking him into a parking space'. He is said to have tried to call for help via his radio but was drowned out by 'shouting' from the men. One witness told the Sun:  'He [the warden] revved up his bike and drove straight towards him at full speed. I couldn't believe what was I seeing.
