Baladia City Israel - Urban War Games
The Urban Warfare Training Center is a mock city located in Israel's Tze'elim military base in the Negev desert. Built by the United States Army Corps of Engineers and funded largely through U.S. military aid, the 7.4-square-mile generic city consists of modules that can be reconfigured by mission planners to represent specific towns. Known as Baladia City-the Arabic word balad means village-it is used by the Israel Defense
Forces as well as by the U.S. Army to prepare soldiers for urban warfare.
The simulated city includes shops, a grand mosque, a hospital, a Kasbah quarter, and a cemetery that doubles as a soccer field, depending on the scenario. The facility is equipped with an audio system that simulates helicopters, mortar rounds, and prayer calls. During training exercises, Arabic music is played in the background.

New Born Baby Named After Israeli Teens
A newborn in Brooklyn was named after the three Israeli teens who were recently killed.
Eyal Gilad Naftali is just shy of 2 weeks old, but he already represents so much for the Jewish faith. On Monday at the newborn's Bris, the baby was named in honor of the three Yeshiva students who were kidnapped in Israel and killed a few weeks ago.
The baby's father, Yankee Teitelbaum, says he hopes the names will represent unity and peace. His wife, Binah, says it allows the boys' legacies to live on. Of the Teitelbaum's five other children, two of them are named after terrorism victims.
Their daughter, Shalhevet, was named after a baby girl who was killed in Israel in 2001. Their son, Ehud-Daniel, was named after an Israeli soldier and an American soldier who both died a few years back.
The family placed a special phone call to Israel to Racheli Fraenkel, the mother of slain teen Naftali Fraenkel. Fraenkel says she is touched that her son's name will live on in this baby, and hopes peace will come soon.

Funeral Held For Pedestrian Killed in Monsey
Hundreds of mourners came out to say goodbye to a pioneer of Monsey's Hasidic community today.
Family and friends bid farewell to Moshe Yisrael Cohen, 76, at the Congregation Sharey Chesed in Monsey.
Police say a Cohen was struck and killed by a car while crossing Monsey Boulevard in front of Satmar Shul around 9:30 last night. The driver the Honda CRV that hit Cohen, Rachel Friedman, 44, of Monsey, remained on the scene and was not seriously injured.
Police say Cohen's death will most likely be ruled an accident. No charges have been filed against Friedman at this point.
Friends of Cohen tell News 12 say pedestrian safety is a problem in Monsey. "The area really isn't built for pedestrians. It's more for vehicles but as now that the community grew, safety measures really need to be taken into account," says Chaim Lefkowitz.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner Performs Acrobatic Stunts
Fasten your seat belt! From a terrifying vertical climb after take-off to a series of dramatic turns, pilots Mike Byran and Randy Neville put one of the world's most advanced planes through its paces, proving commercial jets can do tricks too.
The moves, which include a turn so tight that the plane almost seems to stand still as it banks around, imitate tricks more associated with a compact fighter jet. The spectacular footage was captured in a rehearsal for a test flight at the UK's biggest air show in Farnborough,
Luckily there were no passengers on board for the stomach-churning flight, which also sees the plane touch down to land, before dramatically soaring straight back into the skies again.
The 260ft-plane, which would normally carry around 280 passengers, was actually being put through its paces as part of a demonstration to aviation industry executives. Its super lightweight design of the plane enables the pilots to perform the stunts and in the long term will mean airlines spend a lot less on fuel, making them more environmentally sustainable. The Boeing Dreamliner aims to be more fuel efficient and also to use clever lighting within the cabin to help eliminate jetlag among passengers.

BDS: The Attempt to Strangle Israel
The latest strategy employed by those who wish to strangle Israel is called BDS. It may sound harmless, but do not be fooled. It stands for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions, and not only is it poisonous for Israel, but for the world as well. Israel is one of the freest countries on earth, where everyone--including Arabs--benefit from that freedom. If Israel continues to be singled out by BDS and suffocated economically, the damage would ripple throughout the globe. In five minutes, learn about BDS and why it must be stopped.
