New Chanukah Song by Matisyahu - Miracle
Matisyahu has released a brand new Chanukah song, "Miracle," on iTunes.
"There’s so many x-mas songs out there, I wanted to give the Jewish kids something to be proud of. We’ve got Adam Sandler’s song which is hilarious but I wanted to try to get across some of the depth and spirituality inherent in the holiday—in a fun, celebratory song. My boy Kojak was in town so at the last minute we went into the studio in the spirit of miracles and underdogs and this is what we came up with. Happy Hannukah!!
- Matisyahu"
Miracle Lyrics
Just livin’ in the miracle, candles are my vehicle
Eight nights, gonna shine invincible
No longer be divisible, born through the struggle
Keep on moving through all this hustle
Head up, heads down through all of the bustle
New York City wanna flex your muscle
Look so down, look so puzzled
Huddle ‘round your fire through all the rubble
Bound to stumble and fall but my strength comes not from man at all
Bound to stumble and fall but my strength comes not from man at all
[Chorus]
Do you believe in miracles
Am I hearing you? Am I seeing you?
Eight nights eight lights and these rites keep me right
Bless me to the highest heights with your miracle
Against all odds drive on till tomorrow
Wipe away your tears and your sorrow
Sunrise in the sky like an arrow
No need to worry, no need to cry
Light up your mind no longer be blind
Him who searches will find
Leave your problems behind you will shine like a fire in the sky
what’s the reason we’re alive – the reason we’re alive…
Bound to stumble and fall but my strength comes not from man at all
Bound to stumble and fall but my strength comes not from man at all
[Chorus]
Do you believe in miracles
Am I hearing you? Am I seeing you?
Eight nights eight lights and these rites keep me right
Bless me to the highest heights with your miracle
Eight is the number of infinity one more than what you know how to be
And this is the light of festivity when your broken heart yearns to be free
[Chorus]
Do you believe in miracles
Am I hearing you? Am I seeing you?
Eight nights eight lights and these rites keep me right
Bless me to the highest heights with your miracle

Avraham Fried in the Shower Turn Off Your Cell Phones & Lev Tahor Audition
Below are some videos that were featured on the screen of the Ohel Concert this was Sunday.
Avraham Fried in the Shower. This video was displayed prior to Avraham Fried's performance.
I assume this was played prior to the start of the concert.
The ringing of the phone makes this video almost difficult to watch. But i guess that's precisely the point!

Reb Itzik'l Pshevorsk of Antwerp in 1964
Reb Itzik'l from Pshevorsk of Antwerp at a Hachnosas Sefer Torah in 5724/1964.
Rav Moshe Yitzchak, was a son of Rabbi Naftoli Elimelech, son of Rabbi Avrohom of Gorlice, who was a son of the Rebbe Reb Mylech of Lizhensk. After his marriage he settled in Przeworsk, Poland. He survived the Holocaust and moved to Paris. In 1956 he settled in Antwerp, where he lived until he passed away on Yom Kippur in 5737/1976. His son-in-law Rebbe Yaakov Leiser succeeded him. Rebbe Yaakov served as Pshevorsker Rebbe until 1998, when he died and was succeeded by his son Leibish Leiser, the current Rebber of Pshevorsk.
Reb Yankele and Reb Itzik'l are buried in Putte, in the Netherlands, because a Belgian law makes it possible to reuse or build on top of gravesites. As such, the Jews of Antwerp have traditionally been buried in Putte, where the sanctity of gravesites is assured.
This Thursday the great grandson of Reb Itzik'l will be getting married in Williamsburg, NY.
Reb Itzik'l at the 0:10 walking inbetween chasidim through the 0:27 mark. At 1:28 you see him through the window (now wearing a shtreimel), while all the children look on. At 2:53 you see him from the back and at 3:18 coming down the stairs of the Ahron Kodesh.
It seems during concluding the writing of the Sefer Torah everyone's dressed in weekday clothing. It is only after they walk to the shul to do the celebrations and Hakofos etc. that everyone is seen wearing Shtreimels.

It's a song in Hebrew about the feelings of a student who wasn't yet accepted to Yeshiva.
The best part of this video has got to be that other kid on the tire sing with his hat and jacket and all. (Well at least he kept his hat on for the first minute!).

Mordechai Ben David at a 1986 concert singing what was then a new song "Hinei Keil" composed by Baruch Menzelefsky A"H. This was song was eventually recorded on MBD's Double album released in 1990.
I was told this was Baruch Menzelefsky's last song he composed before his tragic death, although i find this hard to believe since i think he passed away in around 1993.

Popular Bad Boy Rapper Shyne Becomes Chassidic
Bad Boy Rapper Shyne Goes Kosher
CNN News - Like many of the worshippers there, Levi is dressed in traditional garb – a silver-striped silk robe, black knee-length pants, a white knit skullcap, and specially knotted fringes dangling from the sides of his legs. In many ways, he is indistinguishable from the thousands of ultra-orthodox Jews who call Jerusalem home. The only hint of something unusual is the Kurt Cobain T-shirt he wears under the robe, the black Ray-Ban sunglasses, and the signs of recognition on the faces of tourists passing by. Levi is, in fact, far from your standard ultra-orthodox adherent to the Jewish faith.
He was born in Belize as Jamaal Barrow, the out-of-wedlock son whose father is now the country's prime minister. At the age of seven, he moved to Brooklyn, New York, with his mother, and grew up in a hardscrabble urban setting. It was on the streets of Flatbush that Levi took up rhyming, eventually becoming the hard-core gangster rapper known as "Shyne." The up-and-coming hip-hop artist's career came to an abrupt halt after a 1999 New York City nightclub shooting incident Click Here for more.
Throughout the past weeks I've noticed several videos of this Jewish black rapper, recorded by Frum people in Israel. Though i never understood the significance and never paid much attention to them. But now i see this was a big story. This man was a relatively successful rapper with millions of views on his videos on the internet and recognized by all the big names in the secular world of rapping.
