Worker Nearly Hit by Burst of Water from Dam

A construction worker at a dam in Colombia was nearly knocked off his feet and buried under raging floodwaters of the Cauca River.

Video captured the intense moment that workers, at the Ituango Dam project, are seen escaping massive waves. One of them, who failed to catch up with the rest and was left behind, finds himself perilously close to a ramping wave when it gets out of control.

Within mere seconds of the outburst he is chased by an immense snarling wave. By the time he reaches his colleagues, flood water had already engulfed the site. The incident took place on Wednesday at the construction site of the almost completed dam. The dam, the largest hydroelectric project in Colombia, had a blocked tunnel on Saturday, which led to flooding.

Ohad Moskowitz - Levado - New Single

Ohad Moskowitz with a new single from his sixth album that will be released soon.

‘Levado’ is an uplifting Chassidic song, in a sweeping summer atmosphere that will not leave you indifferent. Ohad first exposed the song during the show ‘Jerusalem In New York’ held in a hall in New York a few months ago, and the thousands in the audience responded enthusiastically.

"The uniqueness of ‘Levado’ is that it is an unusually catchy song," says Ohad Moskowitz. "I sang it for the first time in the show on the last Sukkot in New York, and within a few minutes the whole audience was singing with me, ever since I sang it in my every performance in the world. The song is bouncing, sweeping and I am sure the audience will connect to it quickly. That's why I chose to release it as a single before formal release of the album soon, "added Ohad.

The song was composed by Eli Klein and Yitzi Berry on the words in Tehilim “Yehalelu et Shem HaShem Ki Nisgav Shemo Levado”. They also musically arranged and produced the song.

The song ‘Levado’ is a single from Ohad's next album, which is due to be released around Sukkot

Cyclist Pedals for Life Coming Face to Face with Train

Nail-biting moment a cyclist found himself in a race against time after pedaling into an empty tunnel - and straight towards a speeding train.

It opens with Jedson, who is with a friend, casually picking up his bike and moving towards what appears to be a deserted train track.

He then pushes it to the right hand side of the tracks and begins to cycle along slightly rocky ground inside the pitch black tunnel.

Jedson - who has a GoPro-style camera strapped to his chest - is heard chatting away to his companion as they cycle into the darkness. However, he soon catches up with another cyclist who is clearly already scrambling to turn around.

Jedson continues to pedal for just a few seconds more before he too rushes to turn around.

He ditches his bike and makes a mad dash for the tunnel entrance by foot as the sound of a train horn reverberates behind him. Seconds after he’s made it out safely, the train, from the MRS Logistica freight company, is seen speeding out.

Felipe Vieira, who’d accompanied Jedson on the ride, was already outside and safe.

As soon as the train departs, Jedson runs back into the cavernous tunnel to retrieve his bike which is miraculously intact. The  two friends then furiously pedal to the other side, where Jedson, breathing heavily, takes a few seconds to gather himself.

10 Questions for Shlomo Werdiger

There are dedicated individuals who give up much of their time, energy and resources to help klal Yisroel. Mr. Shlomo Werdiger is a sterling example of one of them. He has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Agudah for three decades, and currently serves as its chairman. In that capacity, has done much to benefit the entire klal.

In a quiet and humble way, Mr. Werdiger makes a huge impact on the entire tzibbur. Through his connections on our behalf, he has brought countless benefits, financial and political, to the community. Such a role can sometimes take a toll, personally, and on one’s family, but people like Mr. Werdiger, who serve the Klal first, deserve our recognition and admiration. In this short clip, Mr. Werdiger speaks about what motivates and inspires him, and how he balances his personal life and Klal work. This serves as an example for us to follow.

In just two weeks, on Tuesday, May 29 th , at the Hilton New York, the Agudah will be having its gala event, a Movement in Time, paying tribute to Mr. Werdiger’s service to the community among that of many others. This is our opportunity to show appreciation for everything they do, from securing the funding necessary to ensure that our children get essential education and services, that we have the ability to live as frum, Torah'dik Yidden, wherever we may be, that Klal Yisroel has the necessary resources to expand in the future… The list goes on and on.

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu Interviewed with VICE

The day after the U.S. officially opened its embassy in Jerusalem, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sat down with VICE founder Shane Smith to talk about the violence on the border with Gaza and the new threats he thinks Israel is facing from Iranian forces in Syria.

In the interview, Netanyahu praised President Trump’s December move to formally recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

“I think President Trump did an important thing,” Netanyahu said. “He not only kept his promise, and the promises of successive American presidents, he also recognized a simple reality — the seed of Israel’s government is in Jerusalem, which is its capital.”

Clashes Between Palestinians and Israeli Forces

Israeli forces deployed water cannons and tear gas on Palestinian protesters in Nablus in the Shomron on Tuesday, as demonstrations commemorating 'Nakba Day' continued.

Palestinians continue to protest after yesterday's opening ceremony of the new US embassy in Jerusalem, during which more than 60 Palestinians were killed.

Nakba, means 'Catastrophe' in Arabic and refers to the 1948 Palestinian exodus, where an estimated 700,000 Palestinians fled after 5 Arab countries waged war on the tiny new Jewish state.

Dedication of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem

The United States officially opened its embassy to Israel in Jerusalem on Monday, fulfilling a pledge by President Donald Trump who has recognized the holy city as the Israeli capital.

“Today we open the United States embassy in Jerusalem, Israel,” U.S. ambassador to Israel David Friedman said at the beginning of the inaugural ceremony, attended by a U.S. delegation from Washington and Israeli leaders.

Trump’s recognition of contested Jerusalem as Israel’s capital in December outraged Palestinians, who said the United States could no longer serve as an honest broker in any peace process with Israel.

Palestinians seek East Jerusalem as the capital of a state they want to establish in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Israel regards all of the city, including the eastern sector it captured in the 1967 Middle East war and annexed, as its “eternal and indivisible capital” in a move that has not won international recognition.

Truck Takes out Light Poles on Highway

Shocking footage shows a pick-up truck plough into the dividing wall on a highway, uprooting two lamp posts and sending them smashing into the path of traffic.

Motorists skillfully avoided catastrophe and swerved out of the way just in time in the jaw-dropping clip.

The terrifying moment was captured by CCTV on Interstate 43 in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. After mounting the dividing wall, the truck carries on moving with just two of its wheels on the tarmac. Its tyres hit the lamp posts one at a time, popping them out of the ground and sending them shooting into traffic on the other side of the highway. The first ends up falling over the dividing wall back onto the driver's side, while the second bounces next to cars going the other way. The truck then slams down onto four wheels again and comes to a stop, leaving a cloud of dust circling its path of destruction.

The incident caused delays for up to three miles on both sides of the highway. Debris hit six cars after the truck ploughed into the dividing wall but no injuries were reported. The driver reportedly failed a field sobriety test and was arrested.
