Israeli singer David D'Or sings Sholom Aleichem to the tune of what is known in Chabad as Nigun Yoshon, attributed to the Baal Hatanya. It is not for certain that this Nigun is included in the 10 Nigunem composed by the Baal Hatnaya,
Chasidim have sung this tune to the words of Sholom Aleichem for over a century. It has previously been recorded as such by Avraham Fried on one of his Chabad albums released several years ago.

Golden Crown
"Golden Crown" is a reference to when the Jewish people declared at Mattan Torah "Naaseh V'Nishmah" - we will do, then we will hear. First we commit to doing, then we will listen and find the meaning. In return, every Jewish person was gifted 2 golden crowns. This type of commitment is the foundation of every deep relationship."

Pilot Who Crash Landed Plane Talks To VIN News
New Jersey - The Chasidic pilot who deliberately crash landed his plane in a New Jersey field spoke from his hospital bed, sharing the story of his fateful flight in a VIN News video interview.
As previously reported on VIN News, Yanky Rosenberg of Spring Valley was flying a Cessna 172 last Thursday when he experienced engine failure.
Rosenberg, a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, had taken off with his co-pilot Erik Pearson from Farmingdale Airport on a routine patrol for the Coast Guard. The two had flown up to the Albany area and were heading back to Farmingdale when their engine malfunctioned. Hoping to land at Teterboro Airport, the two headed west to New Jersey when their engine died completely.
When the Cessna did not respond to Rosenberg’s attempts to restart the engine, he began preparing for an emergency landing.

S.Y. Rechnitz Composes Addendum to "Shoka Chamo"
In the year 1907 the poem, Shoka Chamo, was written by the Rosh Hayeshiva of Bais Medrash L'rabanan in Berlin, Avrohom Eliyahu Kaplan OBM. He wrote it at the age of seventeen while learning in Slabodka. As a student of the famous Slabodka Yeshiva he internalized the teachings of Musar, as is evident from this poem, which contains a sense of depression and searching. It begins: "The sun has set... my soul has set / In the depth of its sorrow as great as the sea...".
More than a century later, Los Angeles businessman and philanthropist Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz composed an amazing addendum to the poem. An original high part with its own lyrics. While the tune of the addendum is clearly inspired by the original melody, the new lyrics written to the poetry, take on a more encouraging and uplifting theme.

Elephant Crashes Dinner
If you're hosting a dinner party during an African safari and not planning on inviting the neighborhood elephant, you may want to rethink your guest list.
A group of American and Irish tourists learned this the hard way as they were sitting down to enjoy an outdoor meal during a trip to Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe.
Footage of the encounter was captured by a guest at the table. It shows the seemingly gentle giant grazing just beyond where the group has gathered, apparently not even seeing them at first on account of poor eyesight.
Stephen Montague and Shane Wolf are pictured in the video are shown sitting very still, in hopes of avoiding the elephant's curiosity.
"As we were eating brunch an elephant was eating pods off of the ground and as it approached we were told to stay very still, which we did," explained the uploader of the footage,
As it approaches the table, the elephant appears to be unpleasantly startled to see the group gathered outside.
In a territorial display, the large pachyderm flares its giant ears, before swatting at two men with its massive trunk. The tourists quickly scurry from the scene, before the large beast ambles on its way.
No one was seriously hurt, although one of the men was grazed by the animal's giant tusk.

Stubborn Dog Bumps His Way Around
A stubborn little English bulldog named Diesel blindly bumped his way around a parking lot while carrying in his mouth a W.B. Mason box top that covered the entirety of his brachycephalic face and impeded his vision. Yet, despite his blundering about and falling off the curb, Diesel refused to give up his beloved box top. According to his owner, who chased and called after the roaming pup to no avail, Diesel’s “favorite hobby is playing with boxes.”

Can You Solve the Bridge Riddle?
Taking that internship in a remote mountain lab might not have been the best idea. Pulling that lever with the skull symbol just to see what it did probably wasn’t so smart either. But now is not the time for regrets because you need to get away from these mutant zombies...fast. Can you use math to get you and your friends over the bridge before the zombies arrive?

Interview with Arab Who Rescued American Yeshiva Boys
Five American Yeshiva bochurim who took a wrong turn near the city of Chevron had to picked up by the IDF after their car was firebombed.
The bochurim were on their way to daven at Meoras HaMachpelah when they accidentally entered a Palestinian neighborhood. They jumped out of their car when it was pelted with stones and then set afire. Two of the bochurim were injured in the riot.
By sheer miracle, an Arab man came to their rescue.
He took them into his home and alerted Israeli authorities to help get them out of the area.
51 year old Fayez Abu Hamdia said he was “not a hero” after the group spent around 40 minutes with his family.
“I did what needed to be done,” he said.
“As soon as we saw that a riot was starting outside, my family and I managed to bring them inside and we quickly closed the doors.
“We gave them water to drink and tried to tell them that they were safe, but they didn’t speak Arabic.
“That’s how everyone should behave. We have no problems with the Israelis and we don’t want to have any.”
Will Abu Hamdia be branded a traitor for helping Jews? “I am not a traitor or a collaborator. I just did the correct thing.”

Blue Melody ft. Shmueli Ungar - Ahavas Yisroel
Experience MBD's "Ahavas Yisroel" performed with Blue Melody. As Rosh Hashanah approaches, the idea and ideal of achdus plays a prominent role. When children are being judged by their father, the fact that they are united, that they live in peace and harmony with one another, is certainly something that will help us be judged favorably on the Yom HaDin.
