Before He Was PM: The Rebbe’s Words to a Young Bibi

At this pivotal moment in Israel’s history, lets take a closer look at the unique relationship between the Lubavitcher Rebbe and Israel’s longest-serving Prime Minister. Beginning in 1984 while still Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, the Rebbe had a simple, but powerful message for the rising politician: Stand strong. Stay committed to truth. Do not bend to pressure — from within or without.

Throughout the years, the Rebbe continued to guide and encourage Netanyahu, offering strength in moments of challenge, and clarity in times of uncertainty.

Why Did The Rebbe Encourage Whistling?

שריקה של שמחה אמיתית יכולה לפעול שינוי ביהודי

When the Algemeiner Journal published a picture of the Lubavticher Rebbe whistling, it evoked a negative reaction among some, who felt that the image of a Rebbe whistling was undignified. The Rebbe had a different view of the subject

LIVE: Siyum Harambam 5783

Preparations are underway for the upcoming Mega Hakhel Siyum Horambam Haolomi, a celebration of the completion of the study of the entire Mishneh Torah – Rambam. The event will take place on Tuesday, 3 Sivan, May 23rd, on Eastern Parkway “In Front of 770,” replicating the historic Siyumei Horambam that occurred on Gimmel Tammuz 5781 and Lag B’omer 5782.

Renowned Jewish singers Avraham Fried, Benny Friedman, and Eli Marcus as well as the Yingerlach Choir will perform at the grand musical program after the Siyum, bringing together the spirit of the Rebbe and the Rambam in the Year of Hakhel. Leading Rabbonim and speakers will also address the crowd, sharing their insights on the significance of the Siyum HaRambam. The event will also feature multiple video presentations, bringing the teachings of the Rambam to life.

The Rabbonim of Crown Heights Rabbi Avrohom Osdaba and Rabbi Yosef Braun will make the Siyum and Hascholo.

The Hakhel Siyum Horambam Haolomi is an important event in the Jewish calendar that celebrates the dedication and commitment to Torah study. The organizers of the event are inviting all members of the community to attend and participate in the celebration, which promises to be as innovative as it will be uplifting and inspiring. “This is an event directly connected to the Rebbe and דער רבי בלייבט ניט קיין בעל חוב –the Rebbe does not remain in debt.”

May this event lead us to the Great Hakhel of “all Jewish men, women and children” in Yerusholayimwith the coming of Moshiach imminently.

When the Scharf Brothers Didn't Receive Cake

An incredible story for 27 Adar 5752, the day the Lubavitcher Rebbe ZY"A suffered a stroke while davening at his father in law, the Rebbe Rayatz's Ohel.

After their father’s passing in 5750 (1989), the Rebbe ‘adopted’ the four siblings of the Scharf family, showering the young orphans with attention and affection. Before each weekly Farbrengen, the Rebbe would give a piece of his cake to the Scharf boys. Shabbos Parshas Vayakheil, 25 Adar-Aleph, 5752, the Rebbe suddenly stopped this custom. At the time, the boys were heartbroken, but they were left with a strong, powerful and encouraging message.

"The Scharf Family" A short film featuring a story of loss and empowerment. On its debut at the 2022 JEM Foundation Gala on 2 Tammuz, 5782 - June 30, 2022, the film was accompanied by a soul stirring live performance by the world-renowned musician Naor Carmi, who composed a special arrangement of Chasidic Nigunim to accompany the film.

Message in The Name Yosef

A short excerp from a talk by the Lubavitcher Rebbe ZY"A.

Rochel Imeinu named her son ‘Yosef,’ as a prayer: “May Hashem add to me a different son.” The lesson to our G-dly service: Our mission is to transform "different" into "son" - bring the unaffiliated into the G-dly fold.

Avraham Rosenberg & Tzivos Hashem Boys Choir 1981

Avraham Rosenberg leading a group of boys, named the Tzivos Hashem Boys Choir, at the Lubavitcher Rebbe's Kos Shel Bracha, on Motzei Simchas Torah 5742/1981.

Avraham Rosenberg shortly after this event occurred, went on to form the legendary group, The Tzlil Vizemer Boys Choir.

Shloime Dachs, one of the most popular child soloists of that era, can be seen here singing solos to "Wake Up Yidden" and again towards the end to "Ve'ahavta'.

Those that were there will remember that the Rebbe ZY"A didn't seem to give special attention to the choir, until the very end when they concluded, and the Rebbe asked Yossi Piamenta OBM for the group to return and continue singing. As can be seen on the clip, those last few minutes, past two o'clock in the morning in 770, were something very special.

Monsey To Brooklyn, Rubashkin Greeted By Thousands

VIN News - Just hours after word broke that President Donald Trump had commuted his sentence, Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin received a hero’s welcome at his family home in the New Hempstead section of Monsey.

Thousands took to the streets in Brooklyn and revelers packed Lubavitch world headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights, where cases of Smirnoff were rolled in to celebrate the good news, an unexpected gift from the White House that came in the final moments of Chanukah.

Photographer Shimon Gifter was the first member of the media to speak with Rubashkin after his release in an exclusive VIN news interview that took place aboard a coach bus as he prepared to leave Monsey for a trip to Brooklyn to visit his parents in Borough Park, Lubavitch world headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway and the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens.

Free of Otisville and surrounded by family members including some grandchildren that he had never met,  Rubashkin was dressed in a black jacket, pants and hat and a white shirt as he spoke about the importance of being “b’simcha” at all times.

Asked what message he would like to send to President Trump, Rubashkin said that he prays for Trump every day.

“G-d should bless him and the United States of America,” added Rubashkin.

Chabad's Hakhel Event Live from CH - Ended

The "Hakhel Year" is an opportune time to promote Jewish unity and gatherings.

The Mitzvah of Hakhel is only in effect when all the Jewish people reside in the Holy Land with a Jewish king, a built Beis Hamikdash, and on a specific day. May it be speedily on our days.

Nevertheless, the Lubavitcher Rebbe repeatedly encouraged all Jews to utilize this auspicious time to assemble– men, women and children – and encourage each other to increase in Torah observance and study, and foster an environment of fear of G‑d.

With only a few days left to this "Shnas Hakhel", a mega event was arranged outside 770 Eastern Parkway, in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn.

Line up produced by Chony Milecki includes: Benny Friedman, Yossi Cohen's Kapelya, Chaim Fogelman, Avi Piamenta, A brand new choir by Fitche Benshimon. Accompanied by Chony Milecki with a 15 piece band conducted by Avremi G.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe: Be Active in Hakhel!

A fascinating collage of “dollars” during the Hakhel year of 5748 - 1987. The Lubavitcher Rebbe could be heard telling each person who passes to “Ton In Hakhel - be active in Hakhel”. It is clear in this clip, how much the Rebbe cared that it be taken seriously by each and every Yid.

May it be Hashem’s will that we need not spend another Hakhel year in exile; may we be led toward the redemption - speedily in our days - by our righteous Moshiach.

The Rebbe's Impassioned Defense of the Jewish Ppl

The Lubavticher Rebbe's Impassioned Defense of the Jewish People

The month of Elul is a time for repentance and introspection before the coming of Rosh Hashanah. Like Reb Levi Yitzchok of Berditchev, the renowned "defender of the Jewish people," the Lubavitcher Rebbe stands up to those who would misuse the month of mercy to chastise and rebuke their brethren. 21 Av, 5744 – August 19, 1984. From Living Torah Volume 143, Program 572.
