Ari Goldwag - Am Echad - Behind the Scenes
In honor of the official Am Echad video hitting 6 million views today, I went back into the archives and dug out some behind the scenes footage from the first day (of 4) of filming - including footage of how I was dressed up to look like the four different characters.
I hope you enjoy!
Am Echad is a song about Jewish Unity - all types of Jews dancing together. The concept came from my friend Rabbi Doron Kornbluth - to have all those types of Jews represented by one person who dresses as each type - hence was born the concept of all of the different versions of "me" dancing together on the same stage - this would require filming myself in front of a green screen, and then using a computer to paste them all onto the same stage.

Peleg Protesters Block Jerusalem Light Rail & Traffic
Hundreds of ultra-Orthodox Jews blocked an intersection near the entrance to Jerusalem on Thursday, in protest against the arrest of a religious student who refused to enlist in the IDF.
Demonstrators were seen sitting in the middle of the street and shouting "We will die but not join the army."
Scuffles broke out, as police tried to clear the area. Forty six demonstrators were reportedly detained. Footage from the scene shows riot police dragging demonstrators and deploying water cannons to disperse the crowd.

Judge Orders Suspect's Mouth Taped
A Cleveland criminal had his mouth taped shut by police on judge's orders as he faced sentencing on Tuesday. Franklyn Williams, 32, would not stop speaking over the judge or his own attorneys despite multiple warnings. Judge John Russo told him he was going to 'gag' the armed robber, and would undo the tape when he was ready to hear what Williams had to say. The 32-year-old was eventually sentenced to 24 years behind bars - despite the case being an appeal of an earlier trial where he had only been sentenced to 14 years for his crimes.
Police Remove Bear from Parked Car
Another case of a bear stuck inside a vehicle in Colorado’s mountains has wildlife officials warning drivers to lock their doors and empty all food containers.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office posted a video on Twitter of a bear stuck inside a vehicle in Conifer near Pleasant Park/High Grade on Monday.
Deputies were able to open the driver’s side door with a cable and the bear ran away. But the animal left behind a big mess!
The bear had trashed the inside of the vehicle.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife says that Hyperphagia, the snackiest time of year for bears, is approaching. That means bears will sniff out and try to eat anything, even food wrappers, gum, mints and half-finished soda bottles. Bears are smart enough to open car doors but typically get stuck inside and destroy the vehicle while trying to figure a way out.

Yisrael Adler - Sheyibaneh - Belz Simcha
During the recent Belzer simcha, Yisrael Adler was invited to sing at an exclusive sheva brachos celebration attended by select philanthropists from overseas at the home of sponsor Rabbi Refael Herzog from Montreal.
At the sheva brachos, cantor and singer Yisrael Adler sang a special grammen, while the Belzer Rebbe listened carefully to the touching rendition.
When the Rebbe got home later, he lavished praise on Yisrael Adler's presentation and asked to invite him again—this time not to an intimate affair, but to the mass sheva brachos celebration in the huge tent erected in the Belzer neighborhood in Yerushalayim for the throngs of chassidim who've come from all over the world for the simcha.
The Rebbe asked Yisrael Adler to sing the famous chazzanus piece "Sheyibaneh beis hamikdash" composed by cantor Yisrael Shor, which has become renowned worldwide with cantor Moshe Kosvitzki's moving rendition of this song.
Yisrael Adler stood singularly with his Gerrer spodek near the Belzer choir, and at the fore stood the legendary Belzer music maestro R' Yirmiyahu Damen, who joined in at this stirring part.
Musical production and keyboard: Meir Adler, violin: Shimi Weizhandler, clarinet: Shlomo Mitzburg

Monkey Rides on Bicycle While Being Chased by Dog
The video is from July 12 from Somewhere in China, it shows the primate struggling to get on the bike, and then navigating it deftly when it finally gets a hold of it. Its antics amuse not just the passerbys who stopped to watch, but a dog too. Despite the dog running alongside the bike and barking loudly, the monkey doesn't appear to be distracted or lose its balance.

Driver Fired After Driving Over Puddles
This is not how you make a splash at work.
A driver in Ottawa has been given the boot after a video showing a vehicle veering toward puddles and drenching pedestrians made its way online. The Black & McDonald van can be seen in dashcam footage, uploaded to YouTube on Friday, driving closer to sidewalks as people with umbrellas walk by.
Days later, Black & McDonald said one of its employees was no longer with the company, adding that this was an "isolated incident."

Avremi G, a Brooklyn-based hassidic musician, shares the story and motivation behind the first ever Niggun Riot which he created, and the surprisingly (or maybe not so surprisingly) positive response it received.

Pinchas Wolf - Dovid Lowy - Yom Yom - Music Video
Yom Yom is the latest single from Pinchas Wolf. The song will be featured on his upcoming fourth album Shirei Pinchas 4 produced and arranged by the talented Doni Gross. As in the past, Wolf always has a talented vocalist to “give voice” to his nigunum. This song is no exception. He reached out to rising star Dovid Lowy of Ramat Beit Shemesh to give this modern song some unique color and flavor. The end result is a song that you will be singing long into the winter. Not only does the song feature Hebrew lyrics, but it also features some English words penned by the talented Mrs. Chayala Neuhaus.
Yom Yom is being released with a fun and upbeat music video scripted by Dovid Lowy himself and filmed and edited by the ever talented Shimmy Socol (Mordechai Shapiro’s Schar Mitzvah, Machar, Benny Friedman’s Reb Yehoshua Omer, Meilech Kohn’s Likrat Shabbat etc.) The video reminds us that even when you seem to be at a hard point in life, there is still so much that we have to thank Hashem for. Besides, it could all turn around in a minute.
