Dovid Lowy - Album Sampler - Behind The Scenes

Reflect has two meanings. It implies a likeness, as a light reflects off a mirror, it is also an expression to look deeper. Both meanings were appropriate for this title.

These songs have been presented before, some of them more recently and some of them years ago.

The acoustic versions I present here reflect their originals, yet bring out a fresh and new sound which will hopefully cause us to reflect more on the meaning and messages behind these beautiful and classic songs.

The process of selecting and building these medleys has brought me through a musical journey of the rich and diverse genres of Jewish music over the ages. I’m so excited to share these REFLECTIONS with you.

Dovid Lowy - Yehudi B'chol Kochi - Lyric Video

Yehudi B'chol Kochi was written in honor of the Bar Mitzvah of our eldest son Shlomo. When my wife requested me to compose a song in honor of the occasion- I knew it had to be something special. It was a gift from heaven as these words came to mind together with this tune. Yehudi B'chol Kochi is a prayer and an affirmation.

We ask our Creator to give us the strength to grow and bring holiness into this world, and we affirm our commitment to His Mitzvos and to be a Yehudi B'chol Kochi. Amen!

Dovid Lowy - BaTACHTI - Single

These are obviously challenging times for everyone but it's important that we find ways to cope with the situation. For me, it was working on this song.

I was sitting on my porch contemplating how the world was just turned upside down- everything had been shut down and life as we knew it came to a halting stop. Yet when I looked up at the blue sky, heard the birds singing, saw the trees blossoming, I realized that it's all about perspective.  There is a lot that has remained the same. This thought gave me strength as I realized that the Creator is taking care of us and we will merit to see a salvation.

I’m always composing songs but I struggle to compose  lyrics.  For this song the words came to me naturally- because it was truly how I was feeling- and so this hopeful song BaTACHTI, was born.

Pinchas Wolf - Dovid Lowy - Yom Yom - Music Video

Yom Yom is the latest single from Pinchas Wolf. The song will be featured on his upcoming fourth album Shirei Pinchas 4 produced and arranged by the talented Doni Gross. As in the past, Wolf always has a talented vocalist to “give voice” to his nigunum. This song is no exception. He reached out to rising star Dovid Lowy of Ramat Beit Shemesh to give this modern song some unique color and flavor. The end result is a song that you will be singing long into the winter. Not only does the song feature Hebrew lyrics, but it also features some English words penned by the talented Mrs. Chayala Neuhaus.

Yom Yom is being released with a fun and upbeat music video scripted by Dovid Lowy himself and filmed and edited by the ever talented Shimmy Socol (Mordechai Shapiro’s Schar Mitzvah, Machar, Benny Friedman’s  Reb Yehoshua Omer, Meilech Kohn’s Likrat Shabbat etc.) The video reminds us that even when you seem to be at a hard point in life, there is still so much that we have to thank Hashem for. Besides, it could all turn around in a minute.

Dovid Lowy - Ma Rabu - Music Video

Song Composed by: Dovid Lowy
Arranged by: Jeff Horvitch
Backup Vocals by: Ari Goldwag

We tend to find ourselves so busy that we never stop to see that The Creator of the world is apparent in everything around us. We don't need to see open miracles or even search to the ends of the World to find Him. This Video demonstrates how a simple leaf can bring one to this awareness- all you have to do is just open your eyes!

Lyrics:
(שאו מרום עיניכם וראו מי ברא אלה(ישעי' מ
(מה רבו מעשיך ה' כולם בחכמה עשית מלאה הארץ קנינך (תהילים קד

Translation:
"Raise your eyes and see Who created these"
"How abundant are Your works, Hashem; All of them with wisdom You made. The land is full of Your possessions."

English Lyrics: Credit to Eli Woznica
I see You,
I see You in the Earth and the heavens and stars,
Sometimes You seem hidden, Your hand in disguise,
But all we must do- is just open our eyes!
