תחילתו של השיר מתחיל במפגש ניחומים מרגש ויוצא דופן של משלחת "ביחד ננצח" ואיש החסד שי גראוכר בבית משפחתו של הקצין הדרוזי סרן ג'מאל עבאס בפקיעין שנפל בקרב בעזה, בני המשפחה הציגו למנחמים את הסטיקר עליו נחקק לאות זיכרון הפתגם עם המסר העוצמתי שליווה את ג'מאל ז"ל לאורך כל שירותו הצבאי "זה רק יעבוד ביחד, לבד זה לא ילך" - משפט אחד קצר ופשוט אבל שאומר כל כך המון

במשך ימים ארוכים המשפט הזה לא הרפה ממחשבתו של שי, פתגם המבטא בצורה כל כך מדויקת את תחושתו מאז הקים עם פרוץ המלחמה במסירות נפש מפעל חסד עצום כשהמניע העיקרי שלו היא להביא את בשורת האחדות בקרב כל חלקי העם

לשי היה ברור שאת המסר הזה צריך להדהד בכל בית בישראל, כי אין ספק שרק בכח האחדות אף אחד לא יוכל לנו, מיטב הכישרונות התגייסו למשימה וכך לאחר חודשים של עבודה נוצר לו שיר עוצמתי שמסכם תקופה קשה ומורכבת אך מלא תקווה ואמונה לימים טובים יותר בניצוחם של אמן הרגש ארי היל והזמר המוכשר אביאל גראוכר ובנדיבות לבו של איש החסד שמואל ורדיגר הי"ו את יצירתו של השיר ליווה לאורך כל הדרך רוחו והשראתו של האב הגדול דדי גראוכר ז"ל שבימים אלו ולאחר עמל רב יוצא לדרך פרויקט עצום על שמו - "הילדים של דדי" שיאמץ את היתומים כפי שציווה לבניו לפני פטירתו להמשיך את מורשת החסד למען היתומים והאלמנות כפי שייסד עוד בצעירותו כשהוא עצמו נותר יתום ללא אב ואם בימי נעוריו

הקליפ הוויזואלי המושקע שמלווה את הפסקול בהשתתפות "הילדים של דדי" ילדי הגיבורים שנפלו על קידוש ה' מתאר ומספר מכלי ראשון את סיפורם שובר הלב של היתומים הרכים שחייהם השתנו לנצח, כשהמסר של השיר מתחדד עוד יותר - ההקרבה הזו לא לחינם, בנפילתם ציוו לנו את האחדות - כאיש אחד בלב אחד
