Hamavdil - Tzudik Greenwald - Music Video

Composer Meir Martin Widerker is not stagnating and continues to create interesting and versatile cooperations, currently presenting "Hamavdil", in an outstanding vocal performance by cantor and singer Tzudik Greenwald.

"Hamavdil" is yet another one of Meir Martin Widerker's selection of excellent melodies, and here too, similarly to the other projects managed and produced by Israel Bergmann, everybody agreed that internationally reclaimed pianist Menachem Bristowski's unique arrangement as well as International Yedidim Choir' beautiful voices would be indispensable, whereby the icing on the cake is cantor and singer Tzudik Greenwalds' warm and pleasant tenor voice

Bnei Hamelech - Joey Newcomb - Official Music Video

From Joey Newcomb: I feel that we talk so much about Ahavas yisroel and the tikun that it brings, and I hope that maybe through the power of music, people may feel the need to make it happen a little more!

I wrote this song right after a mincha I experienced in queens NY when I was davening next to many different types of Jews and it dawned upon me that were all really in the same boat! I wrote the words right after that mincha.

The video was filmed in Brooklyn where there are many different Jews and in Israel the ultimate place we all want to be, where you can also find every type of Jew.

I'm sorry not every type is mentioned, however if I would have the song would be too long :).
I hope it brings a message of love and peace to our people and may we merit the ultimate redemption!!!

Composed and Performed by: Joey Newcomb
Produced and Arranged by: Doni Gross
Recorded at: DeG Studios, NYC

Workers Flee for Their Lives

Hilarious moment a dog leaves grown men terrified after he wanders into what appears to a restaurant where they were trying to work.

The footage was taken in Rodnia, Brazil last week and shows a man, who's holding a drill and talking on the phone, stop in his tracks as he sees something outside. He quickly runs into the side room in a panic before the other men notice what's coming for them.

The playful pitbull continues to run around the counter wagging it's tail, clearly enjoying himself until the workers get down, realizing that he's friendly and just wants to play. The dog is said to have escaped from a neighbours house and 'wanted to play with our team members who weren't having it at first.'

MY MARRIAGE JOURNEY FROM LOS ANGELES TO ERETZ YISRAEL AND BACK

This is an e-mail we recently received from Shira M. from Los Angeles. (It is being reprinted in it's entirety with Shira's permisson)

“My journey began “wrote Shira “with a trip to Eretz Yisrael when I was 27. I know I shouldn’t have, but I felt old at 27. I was single and almost all of my friends were married. After a particularly trying time in my life, I decided to go to Eretz Yisrael to visit some family members; a spiritual recharge.

A cousin of mine, Sara volunteered at Yad L’Achim; she was a “big sister”, a mentor to several women and children who were rescued from Arab Villages. I went along with her one day to the Yad L’Achim offices and I was blown away by the work they do and the plight these women and children faced before being rescued by Yad L’Achim. The care and love they receive from Yad L’Achim left a strong impression on me.

Although I planned on staying for only a week more, I decided to spend some time every day volunteering as well. I got to know some special women and maintain my relationship with them to this day. These women are inspirational as many have turned their lives around and live happy, healthy lives.

As I was leaving, a Yad L’Achim staffer asked me for my Hebrew name. They said they were arranging a tefillah in Amuka that day and wanted to daven for me as well. I gave them my name, figuring I had nothing to lose, and thanked them for the thought.

When I came back to Los Angeles, my mother told me that a shidduch had been suggested to me to a nice boy from New York. Ten dates later, and I was engaged!

I truly believe that the tefillos of Yad L’Achim helped. My husband and I decided to dedicate the maaser of our wedding gift money to Yad L’Achim to help rescue more Jewish women & children trapped in Arab Villages. May Hashem grant you continued success in your special work”

Ami Magazine “Stops the Presses” in Support of #Break4HASC

On Tuesday morning, at 5:30 am, Ami Magazine gave literal meaning to the phrase “stop the presses”, by pausing their print production in support of Camp HASC’s “#Break4HASC” campaign. Ami is the latest to take a part in the now-viral challenge, joining numerous Jewish personalities and businesses in support of the legendary camp.

Watch the print shop shut their machines here

“As soon as we heard about this challenge we jumped at the opportunity” says Zack Blumenfeld, director of advertising for AMI magazine. “Our print operator was enthusiastic about the idea when we explained to him what Camp HASC does for the campers and their families”

“When we heard about the wonderful #Break4HASC campaign, we were only too happy to join”, said Ami “Lunch Break” host, Nesanel Gantz. “Camp HASC is an extraordinary place that gives so many people a well-deserved and much-needed break, and we wanted to do our part to help raise funds and awareness.”

For those unfamiliar, the #Break4HASC challenge is to dare anyone to take a break from something important, where it seems almost counterintuitive to be stopping or pausing, and taking that moment to raise awareness on behalf of Camp HASC. Upon completing the challenge, they can post the video online and nominate three other people who will pay it forward and donate more money if they so wish.

All this, of course, is a lead-up to July 29th, when Camp HASC will be running a 36-hour CauseMatch fundraiser. Each dollar donated will be quadrupled by a group of generous donors, with a goal of $1 million raised.

To learn and see more, visit break4hasc.org. You can also call in your donations to: 845.292.6821 #break4Hasc

If you’d like to partake in the challenge, here’s something to get you started:

It’s a simple 5 step process:

1: Film.
2: Take a Break
3: Make a Pledge
4: Nominate a friend or nemesis
5: Share it on your social feeds

Boy and Dog play Catch Over Fence

Video of two toddlers in Savage, Minnesota, playing an unconventional game of catch has gone viral online. The boys aren't playing catch with each other, but instead they're seen throwing a ball over their neighbor's fence. Normally that would mean it's game over  and your ball is lost. But in these videos, the neighbor's dog is on the other side of the fence, and he's happy to throw the ball back for an unconventional game of catch.

Erin Richter says her 3-year-old son, Landon, discovered over a year ago that if he threw a ball over their neighbor's fence, Dozer, a Labrador retriever, would give it back. Richter posted a video of the game of catch on YouTube. Landon is seen picking up a ball, walking up to the short fence and tipping the ball over into the neighbor's backyard. Moments later, the pup's head peeks over the fence and Dozer drops the ball from his mouth back onto Landon's side.

Landon and Dozer have played countless games of catch ever since. "My son plays with him every time they are both outside," Richter told CBS News. Landon's best friend, Conway, also likes to get in on the games.

As for Dozer's owner, she says she knows her dog often plays with the neighborhood kids.

"She says she knows when we are playing with him because he comes inside out of breath," Richter said. Life is "ruff" when you're trying to keep up with two toddlers.

Skyscraper Has World's Biggest Man Made Waterfall

China has created the world’s biggest man-made waterfall by electrically pumping water down the side of a skyscraper.

The artificial water feature is 350ft high and cascades down into a tank at the bottom of the Liebian Building, a hotel in the the southwestern city of Guiyang. The waterfall is managed by Guizhou Ludiya Property Management Co. and “is designed to be a tourist attraction”, says the Daily Mail.

A spokesperson, Mr Cheng, told Chinese news site Kan Kan News that a lot of the water comes from recycled tap water or rain water.

“Our building has a four-storey underground water storage and drainage system, from which the water is pumped and recycled,” said Cheng. To run the water, the electricity bill for just one hour is over hundred dollars, he added.

“That’s why we don’t switch on the waterfall every day - only for special festivities in the city,” he said.

When it does operate, “it is only switched on for 10 to 20 minutes at a time”, says Metro.

Police Officer Saves Life of Man on Railroad Tracks

A Perth Amboy officer is being hailed as a hero after saving a man from being hit by an NJ Transit train.

However, Officer Kevin L. Savoia just says he was doing his job.

"As police officers, our job is to make quick decisions in difficult situations and to act on them. At the end of the day, all that matters is everyone gets home safe," Savoia said.

"Also at such an early stage of my career, to be able to make an impactful difference in a person's life is incredible and makes me love what I do every day."

According to police, Savoia was dispatched to the railroad tracks shortly before 8:30 a.m. Thursday for a welfare check. As Savoia arrived, a bystander pointed to a man laying on the train tracks. Less than 600 feet away, a train approached at full speed. The officer ran toward the man as he yelled and waved his arms at the train, trying to signal it to stop. Though the train slowed, the man stood firmly in front of the train until the officer directed him to move out the way. Then, he jumped to the side of the tracks. The train stopped just inches from the man.

"Where did you come from?" the man turned to the officer and asked. "Thank you!"

The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office says the man was transported to Raritan Bay Medical Center for further treatment.

Building Hanging after Landslide Collapses in Istanbul

The earth underneath a building in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district was washed away early Tuesday as the retaining wall of a nearby construction site collapsed amid heavy rainfall, leaving the building hanging on a cliff.

Police and firefighter units evacuated the four-story building and two adjacent buildings in Sütlüce neighborhood and cordoned off the area. The building collapsed on mid-Tuesday before a large crowd of onlookers, officials and television crews, which broadcast live the moment of collapse.

Beyoğlu Mayor Ahmet Misbah Demircan told reporters that the building was built illegally in 1994 and it had no construction license or occupancy permit and had problems with its foundation. It is unclear why authorities did not take action on the building to this date, but such instances are common in Istanbul and other cities throughout Turkey.

Locals told several newspapers that they have warned construction officials of cracks in their buildings.

Caught On Video: Miami Beach Building Collapse

A 12-story building collapsed in Miami Beach on Monday morning, leaving at least one person injured, police there said.

It was not immediately clear why the structure collapsed. The injured person was transported to a local hospital, officials said.

The building that collapsed was the 12-story Marlborough House, which was scheduled for demolition to make way for a new condo, according to The Next Miami, a news site focusing on real estate.

Police said the building that collapsed had a demolition permit on file, but not an implosion permit. A black sign amid the rubble, seen in the bottom left of the image below, says, "Watch it come"

Freilach, Shira, Daskal, Benny, Leiner & Green

Earlier this season, in the New York Hilton Midtown Hotel, Freilach Band performed at one of the most lavish weddings of the year.

During the planning stages of the wedding and in search of something fresh that hasn't been done before, Avrumi Schreiber tasked Freilach Band’s musical director and conductor, Tzvi Blumenfeld, to come up with a medley for which all the wedding’s soloists, as well as Shira Choir, can join forces.

Right then and there, Tzvi had an ingenious idea: to find the most popular songs that contain the words “Shema Yisroel” and create a medley where these songs would morph smoothly one into another.

Tzvi and the team got to work and a couple of weeks later, the fruit of their labor appeared.

Watch as a group of nearly 50 super-talented musicians and artists perform this brand new “Shema Yisroel medley” created exclusively for this wedding.

Arrest Made In BP Hit n Run Injuring Three

VIN News - A Brooklyn man is under arrest after a hit and run yesterday in the heart of Borough Park that sent three Orthodox Jewish individuals to the hospital.

Police said that the incident took place at the intersection of 11th Avenue and 56th Street at 6:20 PM.  A 64 year old man, a 55 year old man and a six year old boy were crossing at the intersection when a 2007 Honda Odyssey reversed direction, striking all three before leaving the scene.

After being contacted by victims’ relatives just before 11 PM, Shmira responded to the accident scene and began reviewing security cameras from nearby homes, which appeared to show that the driver of the van deliberately targeted his victims.

The footage shows the minivan backing up on 56th Street past a parked school bus and towards the 11th Avenue intersection, waiting for a car to pass before continuing in reverse and heading straight for the three victims who were standing near the sidewalk in front of a parked car.

Reviewing additional surveillance footage, Shmira members were able to follow the van’s progress locating the vehicle at approximately 2 AM parked in front of 1027 58th Street.

“We confirmed that we had identified the correct vehicle and then brought 12 of our own cars onto the block and waited for the driver to show up,” Levi Leifer, director of Shmira, told VIN News.  “He came outside at 8:24 in the morning and we called police who came quickly and apprehended him.”

The driver, 27 year old Juan Paulino of Sunset Park, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force reviewed the incident and determined that it was not bias related.

Paulino was previously arrested on at least one other occasion, and was charged with assault in 2007 for assault after throwing a glass bottle that struck another individual.
