Dramatic Moment Unconscious Skydiver Rescued
Terrifying moment a skydiver was left plummeting 12,500ft to the ground after he was knocked out in a skydiving accident, James Lee, 25 was taking part in a jump in Wiltshire, UK when just seconds after leaping from the plane he was hit on the back of the head by another skydiver. The blow knocked him out and sent him hurtling towards the ground uncontrollably.
Luckily two other skydivers noticed something was wrong and chased after their unconscious colleague. After realizing he was unresponsive the two men managed to roll James into a more stable position and deploy his parachute for a safe landing.
It wasn't until James was under the canopy that he began to regain consciousness, he landed safely on the ground with no memory of the drama that had unfolded seconds earlier.

Search For The Names Of Six Million Holocaust Victims
Six million Jews were murdered in the Holocaust, yet the names of close to 2 million remain anonymous. Since the 1950s, Yad Vashem has worked tirelessly to collect and commemorate the names of men, women and children who were murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators.
Individuals submit handwritten Pages of Testimony in memory of loved ones, researchers painstakingly examine archival materials, and experts use the most advanced technology available to identify name after name to complete this vital task. But the work is not finished. The names of close to 2 million are waiting to be redeemed and time is running out.

City Drops Suit Over Hasidic Dress Code Stores
New York City has dropped a lawsuit against Hasidic-owned stores that posted a dress code for shoppers. The New York City Human Rights Commission reached a settlement with the seven Hasidic-owned shops in a lawsuit the city had filed alleging that the stores’ posted dress codes implied gender and religious discrimination,
The signs in the shops along Lee Avenue in the heart of the Satmar-dominated neighborhood read: “No shorts, no barefoot, no sleeveless, no low-cut neckline allowed in this store,”
Rabbi David Niederman, President of the United Jewish Organizations, told the Daily News. “We’re very happy that the small businesses cannot be tortured anymore.” He called the commission’s request for potential fines from $2,500 to $75,000 “an audacity and chutzpah,” according to the paper. On Tuesday, the day before a trial was to begin, the city dropped the fines it had proposed and the shop owners agreed that any future signs requesting modest attire would indicate that all people are welcome. Attorneys for the stores, located in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Williamsburg, argued that the modesty codes are no different than dress codes in upscale establishments.

Man Snapping Photos Of Children Leaves BP On Edge
Parents in Boro Park were on alert last week as police investigated the motives of a man who has been seen following school buses and taking pictures of young children.
The man's actions worried one parent so much that he snapped the photos and even recorded a video of him.And after video of the man surfaced, other parents in the area came forward, saying that they have also seen the man outside a synagogue. The concerned parent who snapped the photo of the man also got his license plate number, which was turned over to investigators.

Man Wrestling A Grizzly Bear
With his head deep in the wide, toothy mouth of a grizzly bear it's hard not to envisage tragedy on the horizon for Doug Seus. But the veteran professional bear trainer will insist the terrifying image is all in a day's work.
For more than 40 years, the 71-year-old has been training grizzlies that have starred in Hollywood films, New footage shows Seus wrestling in his backyard with one of his bears, Bart 2, as if it is nothing more than a playful puppy. Despite the 590kg bear's ability to crunch through human bones with its jaw, Seus happily lets Bart 2 wrap its mouth around his head, engulfing almost the entire thing to his neck. The grizzly pins him to the ground and appears to start chewing at his face before the simple command "Bart, off" prompts him to release his trainer.
"My passion for bears started in hiking and being out in the wild with them," Seus says. He says his job is "not teaching tricks ... but getting into the heart and soul of the bear".

Bibi Responds Canadian PM Ignores Arab MK Hecklers
Jerusalem - Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper got a taste of Israel’s rough-and-tumble parliament when he was heckled by Arab lawmakers during a speech.
In a speech praising Israel Monday, Harper was condemning efforts to boycott the Jewish state and denouncing people who “disgracefully” call it an apartheid state when two Arab members shouted at him.
Lawmaker Ahmad Tibi screamed “settlements,” while a second lawmaker, Talab Abu Arar, then shouted and stormed out of the hall. After the outburst, Harper received a standing ovation from other parliamentarians.
Heckling is common in the Israeli parliament. When Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was interrupted by Tibi earlier, he shrugged it off and remarked to Harper that it was an example of Israel’s robust democracy.
Harper, a staunch Israeli ally, is on a four-day visit.

Showdown In BP Between TLC Police & Residents
YWN - The NYC’s Taxi & Limousine (TLC) Police has lately been spending a substantial amount of time on the streets of Boro Park, stopping vehicles and sometimes ticketing and even towing them. The mission of the TLC Police is to enforce the taxi commission’s rules and regulations. They are apparently looking for illegally operating car services, who do not have proper licensing and insurance.
The video below was taken on Sunday January 19, 2014 in Boro Park.
The TLC Police were forced by the officers from the NYPD’s 66th precinct to back-off, after brave Boro Parkers would not let them get away with their activities. The TLC Police are apparently unaware that many Orthodox Jews give rides to the many residents hitching rides around the neighborhood, never taking a dollar for their services.

Yeshiva Boy Steps Into The Octagon To Fight
Encinitas, CA - An Orthodox Jewish rabbi hadn't thrown a punch in his life until he wanted to enter an amateur MMA fight. Yossi Eilfort's journey began six months ago when he joined forces with MMA fighter and judo specialist Thierry Sokudju of Cameroon and started training at Team Quest Gym in Encinitas. "I never thought that a rabbi would be interested in fighting," said Sokudju. "But I was stoked. He never quits."
Eilfort had 12 years of Krav Maga experience, a self-defense system developed for military in Israel, but wanted more experience with mixed martial arts fighting. Eilfort trained nearly every day while balancing his duties at Chabad at La Costa. He also trained on Fridays during the fasting period, but had to forego a last round of preparation for Shabbat.
The 22-year-old entered his first bout at Mansion Fights in a historic North Hollywood house and used the simple moniker "The Rabbi." Before entering the octagon, he watched as a previous fighter was wheeled out on a gurney. Twenty friends, family and congregation members were on hand to see him swiftly take down his opponent. Eilfort won in the second round by TKO. "It was very uncomfortable hitting someone," said Eilfort. "I actually held back, but I proved what I wanted."
Eilfort recently decided to continue his fights with the next one slated for January 26 in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Rampaging Elephant Flips Car
Visitors to the Kruger National Park in South Africa learned a lesson When elephant takes on a compact car, the elephant is going to come out on top.
The Dec. 30 battle of nature versus automobile is captured in nearly revealed video. In the short clip the animal can be seen staring down the small blue hatchback before attacking it. With surprising quickness, the animal rushes the car and crushes its front before flipping it onto its roof. A female passenger was rushed to a local hospital with a gore wound, but has since been released. Amazingly, there were no other reports of injuries.
The elephant has since been killed by a park ranger.

Dog Strategically Gets His Chicken Nuggets
While her owner, Rodd Scheinerman, was out of the house, the dog was caught on camera strategically getting ready-to-eat chicken nuggets out of the hot micro-oven sitting on the kitchen counter. The video captures the beagle at first moving restlessly around the kitchen floor as she smells the food being cooked.
She tries to jump up onto the counter but just can’t reach. Lucy then moves around the dining table until a brilliant plan pops into her mind - the chair! She strategically pushes the chair from underneath the table with her paw so it is close enough to the kitchen counter so that she can jump up.
She balances slowly along the counter past the sink and opens the oven door with her paw. The oven is too hot inside to stick her nose in, so she uses her paw again to pull out the tray of chicken nuggets. They land on the floor and dinner is served!

Niagara Falls Freezes Over
The record-breaking chill across the U.S. and Canada was so frigid it literally stopped Niagara Falls in its tracks.
A collection of spectacular photographs have shown the moment the U.S. side of the famous falls froze before they could reach the bottom on Tuesday when the temperature hit a record low of minus 2 degrees
Aaron Harris, a photographer for Reuters, took several shots of the 167-foot frozen falls Wednesday. The ice formed on the U.S. side of the falls, which straddle the border with Canada.
While unusual, it's not the first time Niagara Falls has frozen. Photographs from the early- and mid-1900s archived at Niagara Falls Public Library appear to show frozen falls, though some experts have questioned their authenticity. Of course, the eye-catching freeze did not completely stop water from flowing.
Only once has freezing weather "caused the thousands of cubic feet of water per second flowing over the Niagara Falls to run dry, an event thought to have been caused by ice jamming and damming upriver," and that was in 1848.
Thankfully, the freezing air and 'polar vortex' that turned the cascading water to ice - and affected about 240 million people in the U.S. and southern Canada - will depart during the second half of this week, and a far-reaching January thaw will begin.
Raw footage from Reuters.

Family of Menachem Stark HY'D Offering Reward
Members of the Stark family joined with elected officials and community leaders for a press conference at the Williamsburg home of Stark’s sister this afternoon January 6 2014, hoping that an increased reward might motivate someone to come forward with information in the shocking and brutal murder of real estate developer Menachem Stark HY"D
An emotionally overwrought Abraham Buxbaum, a brother in law of the slain real estate developer, announced that an earlier reward offered by the family has been increased from $11,000 to $25,000. Stark’s brother in law Moses Strulowitz expressed frustration about the media coverage, referring to those “that love gossip and love to talk nonsense.”
Strulowitz also thanked the NYPD and the detective squad unit for their efforts in what he described as a “ruthless, gruesome murder” and stated unequivocally that as Chasidic, Orthodox Jews, no one is looking for an opportunity to avenge Stark’s death. “We believe that everything is meant to be and that everything is from G-d,” said Strulowitz. “Good things happen from good people and the worst things happen from the worst people. G-d will punish them no matter what.”

Boiling Water From Water Gun In Extreme Cold
From the Uploader: Woke up to a balmy -41C this morning in South Porcupine, ON. Canada Thought I'd share what happens when you mix boiling water and a water gun and take it outside for a few shots.
The stream of water appeared to have turned into a home-made fog machine, and temperatures were so cold that despite repeatedly spraying the water gun, none of the water ever hit the ground. Hot water can freeze faster than cold water through a scientific process known as the Mpemba Effect. And, although it looks like dry ice, the effect is caused by water freezing, rather than liquid CO2.

Police say businessman Stark left South Side Associates, located at 331 Rutledge St, on Thursday at around 11:30 p.m. He was then allegedly approached by two suspects, who struggled with him and forced him into a light-colored 2006 or 2007 Dodge Caravan. Turkey Chases UPS Driver Around FedEx Truck

The driver circled the delivery competitor's truck before escaping to safety in his own truck. Just as he closes the door on the bird, a witness walking down the street chases the wild turkey off.

"ועגל וכפיר...יחדיו" The Calf and the Young Lion... Together!
A pretty amazing clip of a young male lion protecting a young calf from yet another lion.
This seems to be as close as one can get to the Posuk in Yeshaya:
"וְגָר זְאֵב עִם-כֶּבֶשׂ, וְנָמֵר עִם-גְּדִי יִרְבָּץ; וְעֵגֶל וּכְפִיר וּמְרִיא יַחְדָּו, וְנַעַר קָטֹן נֹהֵג בָּם"
"the calf and the young lion and the fatling together."
