Pilots Survive Mid Air Goose Strike

This video shows 2 pilots as they take-off in their Cessna 210 Centurion from Brookeridge Airpark in Illinois in December of 2013 A few moments into the flight, the bird comes crashing in through the windscreen, sending shards of glass all over the control board and forcing both men to duck. Body parts and blood can also been seen splattered on either side of the plane's windows as feathers fill the cabin. Undeterred, the men remain in-control of the aircraft, and even manage to safely land it despite the goose's limp carcass hanging from the middle of the windscreen.

I was the pilot. Our ongoing emergency training was very helpful. We also were lucky that the goose hit in between us.
