Man Accused of Faking Slip and Fall
A New Jersey man was arrested and charged after he purposely threw ice on a business's floor and faked a slip and fall.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office said 57-year-old Alexander Goldinsky, of Randolph, was subcontracted to work at a company in Woodbridge and allegedly orchestrated the scam in its break room.
Surveillance video from 2018 shows the suspect fill a cup with ice and use the cup to toss the ice on the floor. He then shuffles toward the ice and uses a nearby counter to help him "slip and fall" onto the floor.
Officials said Goldinsky waited on the ground until he was discovered. They said he then filed a false insurance claim for the ambulance service and treatment he received at a local hospital for injuries he claimed.
Goldinsky was arrested on January 15 and charged with insurance fraud and theft by deception. His court appearance is scheduled for next Thursday in New Brunswick Superior Court.

Teen Survives Horrific Fiery Crash
DUBLIN, NH – A driver was badly injured in an explosive crash caught on camera in Dublin, New Hampshire. The driver, 18-year-old Sam Lachance of Manchester, survived thanks to good Samaritans who pulled him away from the flames.
The college freshman’s Jeep crossed the center line and crashed into a tractor-trailer on Main Street near Camp Rockne Road last Tuesday.
It happened in a few split seconds and there was no chance to escape. The crash was captured on Marc Cramer’s dashcam. “When I realized I couldn’t go left or right, and we were only going straight, I cried out ‘Lord out help me,’” Marc Cramer recalled.
Cramer was traveling with his son John, and their own car got smashed. They were both shaken up but are OK.
John and another rescuer, Bank Promploy, got Lachance out of the Jeep. “He was unconscious and he was a mess, he had second and third degree burns,” John Cramer said.
That third rescuer was driving behind the tractor trailer. He knew it was very serious. “Craziness,” Promploy said. “I’m really shocked how it turned out.”
Lachance has burns and horrific injuries and was taken to Mass General, but his mother has a hopeful update. “His burns are healing, he’s able to see he’s coming back to himself which is just incredible,” his mom Jessica Lachance said.
Police say the impact caused the tractor trailer’s fuel tank to rupture touching off the inferno. The driver of the truck only has minor injuries.
It is unclear what caused Lachance to cross into oncoming traffic.

ZAKA Team Recovers Bodies at Brazilian Dam Collapse
A delegation of IDF and ZAKA disaster responders in southeastern Brazil has retrieved several bodies of victims who were washed away when a tailings dam broke last Friday at the Córrego do Feijão mining complex in the hilly region of Brumadinho.
So far, 65 deaths have been confirmed, according to firefighters. Another 279 employees, contractors and residents are missing and presumed dead. Some 192 people have been rescued. Aid workers say they are unlikely to find more survivors in the iron ore waste.
A delegation of about 130 IDF soldiers and officers in active service, as well as 70 reservists from the Home Front Command, among them engineering experts, doctors, search and rescue personnel and firefighters, flew to Brazil on Sunday. In addition, troops from the navy’s underwater missions unit (YALTAM 707) and members of ZAKA are on the aid mission.
Israel is the only country which sent an official delegation to help Brazil’s government in the aftermath of the mining dam disaster. According to a ZAKA release, access to the site is possible only by helicopters provided to the delegation by the Brazilian army. IDF canine unit personnel first scanned the areas and then members of the expedition followed, working to locate the bodies buried in the muddy sludge.

This Lioness Got a Rude Wake-up Call
This lioness got a rude wake-up call when a conniving male lion crept up on her and bit her on the bottom as she slept.
The female was catching some sleep in the Maasai Mara in Kenya when one of the males in her pride started stalking her, using all of his focus to stay silent and go unnoticed.
The plotting male got within touching distance of the sleeping lioness before chomping down on her rear and startling her. The fast-thinking female sprung up instantly and started ferociously swiping at him with her razor-sharp claws.
Safari guide Joshua Loonkushu, who captured it on film, revealed in his eight years of guiding he'd never seen anything like it. The 32-year-old said: 'I couldn’t imagine that the male lion was going to behave like this! He got up and kept on creeping towards the lioness, almost stalking.
'He was taking all effort to keep as silent as possible. I told my guests that we are up to something quite interesting here. As he got to the lioness, he bit her! It took the lioness exactly two split seconds to go from fast asleep to be in defense mode and ready to attack.
'In my 8 years of guiding, this was the first sighting of its kind! I’ve never seen something like this. Soon after this scuffle, the rest of the pride joined the two, hugging them as if they were asking what was the matter.'

Guy Uses Bike to Launch Basketball off Skateboard
This is the incredible moment a basketball player uses a BMX bike and a skateboard to catapult a ball through the hoop.
Footage, captured in Antioquia, Colombia, shows the skillful player use the rear wheel of his bike to execute the unique trick shot.
As the wheel of his bike lands on the skateboard, the unnamed man watches on as the basketball flies over him and straight into the hoop.
During the clip, the unnamed man takes his seat on the BMX bike and positions himself in line with the hoop.
He then lifts himself off the ground with his bike and leaps onto the front of the skateboard.
The basketball is then propelled through the air and lands straight into the hoop at the end of the court.

Burglars Leave Empty Handed After TV Too Big For Car
Two burglars in Texas were forced to leave a home almost empty-handed after discovering a flat screen television wouldn't fit in the vehicle they had stolen to do the job.
Two suspects pulled up to a Dallas home in a stolen vehicle on January 17 and forced entry into the residence, the Dallas Police Department said on Friday.
But they didn't get the goods, because the SUV they had stolen for the mission just wasn't big enough to fit the television they had their sights set on, so they took it back inside the property before speeding off. Their faces were caught in full view of the security camera at the home, but the suspects have not yet been identified.
The two suspects pulled up to a home in North Central Dallas at about 7.45am on the Thursday morning. Both of the men enter the home on the 6500 block of Orchid Lane, and one comes out with a small rectangular-shaped item, and places it into the stolen 2015 Jeep Cherokee.
That man goes back inside, before both emerge carrying a flat screen TV out to the SUV. They first try to fit in the backseat, but quickly realize that won't work.
Then, they move around to the back of the vehicle and try to get it in through the hatchback. That doesn't work either, so the two men are kind enough to take it back inside the property before speeding off with whatever the first item was.
The whole thing was caught on camera by the family's video surveillance system.
The black SUV was later found, abandoned on the 5900 block of Melody Lane in Dallas.

Medical Supply Company Assists Affected by Shutdown
Two weeks ago, AvaCare Medical, a Lakewood-based online medical supply company, reached out to their customers, offering to help those impacted by the government shutdown.
Among the many customers who responded was one customer, Jamie Spinello, who wrote in that as a terminally ill woman whose only income is a military alimony check that hadn’t arrived due to the shutdown, she had lost all hope. At 5’7” and only 63 lbs, Jamie relied on that small check to pay for life-saving treatments and medication, but with the shutdown, she was delaying her treatments and wasn’t sure she would survive.
AvaCare Medical then sent her a gift card, and her story was featured on a local news channel. When offers for assistance began pouring in after the show, AvaCare Medical started a GoFundMe campaign to help her out – and the response has been overwhelming!
Watch the video, where she shares her heartbreaking story – and the heartwarming response she received in return.

Shirei Pinchas 4 - Pinchus Wolf - Album Sampler
In 2016, the Jewish music world was introduced to composer extraordinaire Reb Pinchas Wolf. In the almost three years since he has released not one, but four albums of his niggunim sung by star soloists, each one better than the next.
With the success of his most recent album Shirei Pinchas 3 including hits like; Tate Oy Tatenyu, Alef Bays, and more recently the two singles Yom Yom and Shalom Aleichem, Pinchas has shown that not only can he compose any style of song but he can also sing them as well.
Shirei Pinchas 4 is masterfully arranged and produced by the talented Doni Gross who has been working with some of the top performers in Jewish music. Pinchas, not only composes these amazing hartzige niggunim, but also many times writes their intros and interludes as well. The album features returning star vocalists Shlomo Simcha, Micha Gamerman, Tzvi Silberstein, Dovid Lowy and Pinchas Wolf himself performing not one, but 5 of his own songs despite his advanced age (72).
While Pinchas’s voice might not be as full as it once was in his younger years, it still has its vibrancy and most of its range making it a pleasure to listen to. Pinchas really shines in the albums opening track “Ata Chonein,” a nigun that is sure to be picked up by minyanim across the globe. The song “Shema Beni” also has “Shlomo”-like elements to it with some original English lyrics written by Pinchas himself. So whether you have already been touched by Pinchas’s niggunim or this is the first you have heard of him, go get your copy today! You won’t be sorry you did!

Vandals Ransack Jerusalem Synagogue
Jerusalem - Vndals ransacked a Jerusalem synagogue Monday night in an attack labeled an “antisemitic pogrom,” the second time in a week a synagogue was vandalized.
The synagogue, located in the Kiryat Yovel neighborhood, was broken into and its ritual objects- including a Torah scroll and prayer books - were destroyed. Photos from the scene showed Torah scrolls strewn across a floor full of dirt and dust and a hole cut in into the side of the ark, from which the vandals extracted the scroll.
Kiryat Yovel has been the scene of significant inter-communal conflict between the original, secular residents and the large numbers of families from the haredi community who have moved to the area in recent years due to housing shortages in more traditionally haredi neighborhoods.
The two communities have argued about several issues including the use of the community center on Shabbat, use of neighborhood resources and infrastructure and other issues.

K'vodo - Netanel Ilovitsky - Martin Widerker - Music Video
Producer Israel Bergmann presents the second single video-clip from the album series "Shabbat Hamalka", to melodies by composer Meir Martin Widerker of Germany
This time, cantor Netanel Ilovitsky, a young and talented cantor with virtuoso vocal qualities, was chosen for the performance of "K'vodo".
The melody, to words from the "K'dusha" (sanctity) part of the Mussaf prayer were written by composer Meir Martin Widerker, influenced by the synagogal liturgical tradition and combining some lively rhythmic motifs. Due to the character of this melody, a specially complex arrangement was written which demands an outstanding vocal performance ability, and for this reason, the producer together with the arranger Menachem Bristowski have chosen the young cantor Netanel Ilovitsky. The result is a heavenly and harmonious musical and vocal arrangement.

Finally, shots of the Rebbe distributing a special booklet with talks about the importance of the Jewish woman, along with a five dollar bill and a piece of honey cake.
Over the next five hours, the Rebbe would hand out over 11,000 of the booklet to men, women and children
