Child Soloist Yoli Glick, Shira Choir at Epic Bar Mitzvah
The renowned heart and warmth of Lubavitch Chassidus were the catalyst for three deeply inspiring moments at the Epic Bar Mitzvah of the Century
It began with a moving and meaningful ceremony as Leizer wrapped his tefillin on Marc Haskell, CEO of Maritime Parc. It was the first time Marc had worn tefillin in forty years.
Moishele Holtzberg, the young survivor of the terrorist attack in Mumbai, joined his first cousin Leizer on the stage. There was not a dry eye in the house, as the crowd acknowledged the pain, sacrifice and inspiring strength of these two young heroes.
Then came a heart melting performance by child soloist Yoli Glick, accompanied by the famous Shira Choir and Mendy Herskowitz’s fabulous Sabab band. The emotion was palpable as Yoli’s pure voice rang out, beseeching the One Above for the arrival of Moshiach.
All this and more was orchestrated by Isaac Leider of VitalOne, Architect and Director of the epic Bar Mitzvah of the Century.

PM Netanyahu and Moshe Holtzberg Unveil Memorial
MUMBAI, India—Ten years after terrorists killed close to 170 people and injured hundreds more in a series of attacks throughout the city of Mumbai, Moshe Holtzberg—the only child of Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries Rabbi Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg, who were murdered in their Chabad House—was joined by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to unveil the plans for a state-of-the-art Living Memorial at the Nariman (Chabad) House, that commemorate all victims of the attacks.
Netanyahu was welcomed to the center by Rabbi Israel and Chaya Kozlovsky, co-directors of Chabad-Lubavitch of Mumbai. After signing the guest book, Netanyahu remarked that the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, had told him to ‘kindle light and thus to expel the darkness, for such is the nature of light. When one kindles even but one candle it has the power to banish much darkness’.
Speaking to Moshe at the unveiling of plans for the Living Memorial, the prime minister noted how the boy was “growing and developing beautifully,” and that he would soon be bar mitzvah and would one day raise a family. “The Jewish nation is accompanying you all the way,” said Netanyahu.

Fisherman Jumping into Water to Avoid Crash
A video captured three people fishing in Oregon jumping overboard to avoid being injured when another boat smashed into their vessel.
The three were on the Columbia River last summer when they could see a motorboat bearing down on their position.
GoPro cameras show the fishermen attempting to wave off the oncoming boat before jumping in the water just seconds before the massive collision.
Oregonlive reports Marlin Lee Larsen, 75, told investigators he was unable to see the other boat from his because he was sitting down while driving
However, Larsen's son-in-law claims he warned Larsen numerous times to stop using his cell phone while driving the boat.
Larsen has plead not guilty to charges of reckless operation of a boat, and fourth-degree assault and endangering the lives of others.
Bryan Maess, an off-duty police officer who was on the boat that was hit, filed a $372,500 lawsuit against Larsen.
Maess says he suffered injuries to his ankle, leg and arm during the incident. The other people onboard, Christopher McMahon, 46, and Roni Durham, 57, also suffered injuries.

Bear Stuck in a Car
Some visitors to a Tennessee cabin got a big surprise when they discovered a baby bear in their car.
Perhaps it was the inclement weather or some dog treats that caused the bear to climb into the unlocked car. It wasn't until they heard the horn blowing that they realized something was up.
Adding to the drama, mama bear was lingering nearby as the group tried to free the cub.
Finally, the group hatched a plan to help the bear make its escape. They pulled another vehicle alongside and reached out to open the car door to let the bear out.
After one failed attempt, the bear was out and ran off.
No one - human or bear - were injured in the encounter.
Since bears are not true winter hibernators, authorities say it's possible they wandered away from their den in search of food.

Car Goes Airborne Slams Into 2nd Floor
A driver who later admitted to using narcotics and was high on drugs at the time crashed his car into the second-floor dental offices of a Santa Ana building
The white sedan was partially wedged into the second story of the office building, Santa Ana Police Department reported. A specialized fire truck from Los Angeles was brought in to extract the car from the dentist's office.
Officials released security video from the vantage point of a city bus capturing the dangerous crash early Sunday morning of a car in California hitting a divider at such a high speed that it launched into the second story of a nearby building.
The white Nissan Altima in the video, courtesy of the Orange County Transportation Authority, went airborne barely missing the bus and then crashing right into the building.

Moshe Holtzberg Returns to Mumbai
Moshe Holtzberg, the young boy whose parents were killed at a Chabad Center in Mumbai during a 2008 terror attack, returned to that city for the first time Tuesday to visit the site of the attack with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Netanyahu arrived in New Delhi for a six-day visit Sunday and will travel to Mumbai on Thursday where he will visit the Chabad Center where Holtzberg’s parents, Rabbi Gabriel Noach Holtzberg and his wife Rivkah, were gunned down as 10 Muslim militants rampaged through Mumbai in a three-day siege. Netanyahu is to unveil a memorial to 166 people killed in the attacks.
Moshe was 2 at the time of the attack and was carried to safety by his nanny, who found him by his parents’ bodies. Holtzberg’s parents were emissaries of the Chabad movement living in Mumbai at the time.
On Tuesday afternoon the 11-year-old boy visited the Chabad Center along with his grandparents.
He’s coming back to “the very place where his life was miraculously saved by his Indian nanny.”
Sandra Samuels, Moshe’s nanny, traveled to Israel with him after his parents were killed and was given Israeli citizenship in 2010. On Tuesday she accompanied the boy and his relatives as they arrived in Mumbai.
Netanyahu will unveil a memorial in Chabad House to all the victims of the Mumbai attack, no matter their religion or where they were killed, but there will be a special memorial to Moshe’s parents, “who dedicated their lives to establish this center and they have run it until the last breath of their life.” Moshe will be present at that ceremony.

Firefighter Catches Baby Dropped from Burning Building
A Georgia firefighter made an incredible rescue after she caught a baby dropped from the third floor of a burning apartment building, according to a video of the incident.
Captain Jackie Peckrul, one of the DeKalb County firefighters who responded to the January 3 blaze at Avondale Forest Apartments in Decatur, told WAGA that the situation looked pretty dire when she arrived with her fellow firefighters.
“You immediately saw flames and you could hear their screams,” she recalled.
Instead of being deterred by the harrowing situation before her, the 14-year veteran firefighter and “supermom” of triplets sprung into action.
She climbed the fire truck ladder halfway to the third-floor balcony when she noticed what appeared to be a blue blanket falling towards her.
When she looked up, she noticed there was a baby wrapped in that blue blanket.
“That was the only thing running through my mind… ‘Lord, let me catch this baby,'” said Peckrul.
Peckrul immediately freed her hands from the ladder to catch the baby boy, tossed from the burning building by parents desperate to save their child without warning.
“I think they thought I was expecting it,” she said.
Peckrul then rescued the rest of the family of 12, which included eight children.

Dramatic Video: Passengers Jumping from Burning Boat
A female passenger has died hours after a casino boat caught fire off Florida's Gulf Coast, forcing her and about 50 other passengers and crew to jump into the chilly waters to escape.
Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point spokesman Kurt Conover said Monday that the woman died late Sunday, shortly after she arrived at the hospital's emergency room at 10 p.m. He said she had apparently gone home after the fire but became ill. Her name has not been released and a cause of death has not been determined.
He said eight other passengers were treated at the hospital and released. Port Richey police said 15 people were injured in the fire and it was originally believed that none of the injuries was life threatening.
The shuttle boat caught fire about 4 p.m. Sunday, quickly engulfing the boat close to shore near residential neighborhoods. Port Richey Police Chief Gerard DeCanio said the shuttle boat experienced engine problems after leaving the dock at Port Richey, a suburban community about 35 miles northwest of Tampa.
