Survivors Mark Auschwitz 65th Anniversary
Holocaust survivors and Israel's prime minister gathered in Auschwitz to mark the 65th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi death camp. The ceremony was a key event on International Holocaust Remembrance Day on Wednesday. (Jan 27).

I'm not sure exactly when this wedding was but here is an article in the NY Times from 1987 about the popular caterer David Scharf who catered a wedding at the Nassau Coliseum for twenty thousand guests. Perhaps this is a video of that wedding.

It is the first movie made by ultra-Orthodox Jews entirely in Yiddish and one of very few Yiddish films altogether since the destruction of most Yiddish-speaking communities by the Nazis. The movie has been marketed primarily to an Orthodox audience, not without some controversy. It has also drawn attention from less traditionalist Jews with an interest in Yiddish, since it is a document of contemporary spoken Yiddish."

On Motzei Shabbos during Mekimi's Anual Volunteer Reunion event, Lipa Schmeltzer surprised the audience with a brand new song.
The song which is called "Ein Git Vort" (one good word) will be on his upcoming album and was composed by Sholi Grossman from Monsey who has been a big help to Lipa throughout his previous albums.
The song in Yiddish, describes a power each and every one of us possess, the power of speech. As people tend at times to forget or altogether underestimate the power of the tongue, we must be reminded the verbal power we each have. What one "Git Vort" can accomplish and "Chulilia" the harm "one Shelcht Vort" can do!
