Dirshu’s Seder Hachana

Over 3,000 bachurim gathered at the Armanot Chen Hall in Bnei Brak at the end of the zeman to hear guidance from the Gedolei Hador and leading Roshei Yeshiva at Dirshu’s ‘Seder Hachana’ Event. Seder Hachana is a unique maamad specifically designed for one demographic, bachurim leaving yeshiva ketana (high school aged yeshiva) and entering yeshiva gedolah (beis medrash level).

The event was addressed by HaGaon HaRav Gershon Edelstein, shlita, senior Rosh Yeshiva of our time, HaGaon HaRav Moshe Hillel Hirsch, shlita, Rosh Yeshivas Slabodka, HaGaon HaRav Dovid Cohen, shlita, Rosh Yeshivas Chevron, HaGaon HaRav Shimon Galei, shlita, HaGaon HaRav Avrohom Yitzchok Kook, shlita, HaGaon HaRav Bunim Schreiber, shlita, HaGaon HaRav Chaim Peretz Berman, shlita and HaRav Dovid Hofstedter, shlita, Nasi, Dirshu, under whose auspices this seminal event was held.

Rav Gershon Edelstein said, “When a bachur comes to yeshiva gedolah from yeshiva ketana, he will encounter a different structure of learning which requires much more preparation. In yeshiva ketana, everything is explained. The shiur is explained and presented to a bachur on a silver platter. Anytime a bochur doesn’t understand, he can go over to his maggid shiur and ask. He can easily obtain help. In yeshiva gedolah, however, things are different. A bachur is expected to prepare the Gemara on his own, so that he can understand the shiur. To properly learn a Gemara with Rashi and Tosafos is not simple. What does one do? The best advice is that one should first learn the Gemara just with Rashi. The next day, he should learn Tosafos for the first time and then review yesterday’s Gemara with Rashi. On the third day, he should review what he learned and add review of Tosafos. This should be repeated on the fourth day. The additional daily chaazrah is not just a review. Rather, a person begins to understand the Gemara, differently, better and deeper with each chazarah. This is the best way to prepare for the shiur. It is very important to sustain chazarah over the course of a few days, adding more and more as one reviews.”

A Shabbat.com Film (www.Shabbat.com

Is remaining an Orthodox Jew worth the trouble? Unfortunately, not according to some who have left Torah Judaism, turning their backs on our communities, using their pens and creativity to paint an ugly, clownish picture of Klal Yisroel.

But it was not always so. Many years ago, when keeping shabbos was nearly impossible, employment meant a 6 day work week. Those who chose to keep shabbos found themselves looking for a new job every Monday. Many couldn't withstand this difficult challenge and desecrated Shabbos to feed their families. But there were many that did. Those special people not only sacrificed to keep Torah and Judaism alive within their family, but lived long enough to see their children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren remain devoted and inspired to live true Torah lives.

Rabbi Klatzko, who composed and performed the background track with his son, Luzy, chose to use the words of Rabbi Nachman M’Breslev, “The whole world is a very narrow bridge.” It can be frightening and depressing and often disappointing. But that same bridge gets us from one side to the other safely. It is Torah and Shabbos. This is what we mean when we say “Orthodox.”

Chelek Elokai - Ari Hill & Joey Newcomb - TYH Nation

TYH Nation & Mishpacha Magazine are proud to release “Chelek Elokai” - a brand-new single off the upcoming album! This special album will feature 12 songs and 12 singers, and will be released for Rosh Chodesh Elul.

Produced and Arranged by Eli Klein & Yitzy Berry

The words of the Baal HaTanya are etched into the heart of our holy nation: "Every Jewish soul is literally a portion of Hashem." Sometimes it's difficult for us to feel it. Sometimes our actions may obscure the holiness at our core. But beyond the many layers of a dust that is infinitely simpler to wipe away than we could ever dare to imagine, abides the shining essence of the Jewish nation - a literal spark of Hashem.

As Reb Joey & Reb Ari remind every yid in this timeless track, "You have to know who you are." Don't get distracted by the externals. Wherever we may be, whatever we may have done - none of this has the slightest bearing on who we are. The tzaddik's words are not a metaphor that only functions as truth under certain circumstances. Each yid is a cheilek Eloka mi'maal - Mamash! And nothing in the world could ever take that away. Let's dig deep together and reveal the G-dliness within!

Nachmu Ami ft Akiva Gelb & Zalmen Leib Friedman

Tisha B'av and the 3 Weeks, the Bein Hamitziruim is a time that we mourn and cry after losing the holiest place on earth, after losing the Beis Hamikosh, the place where Hashem lived and held himself up and had it for his home, and after our misbehavior with not treating one another with honesty and dignity, Hashem was forced to destroy his palace and leave from between us.

But right after, Hashem told for the נביא, go and tell my people "נחמו עמי" go and calm them, and with these holy words the נביא came and gave over everything Hashem said and promised the Yidden. Then the פסוק in נביא says, everyone went out to the מדבר and it was ונגלה כבוד ה', the פסוק explains how everyone saw clearly Hashem's hand in everything!

Being composed by the young talented Avrum Shlomo Friedman, that besides spending his days on sitting and learning sometimes has some extra few minutes to give out his talents, and at a recent Shabbes Seudah at home young Avrum Shlomo started to sing this song, some guests that had participated including Aron Elya Friedman (AFnote) saw lots of potential in this amazing song and reached out to Producer Gershy Schwartz to take care on the rest, and that's where talented singer Akiva Gelb (that actually has a long time relationship with the Friedman Family, being beloved by everyone and had lots of Simches done as the singer) was involved in the picture as the production group reached out to him to be featured on the song as lead vocalist.

“The Wait”: The Most Popular Tisha B’Av Film

Why is "The Wait" the most popular Tisha B’Av film?

Over the past several years, Hashkifa’s films have been seen by hundreds of thousands of people around the world, and for many, the Tisha B’Av films have been their pinnacle uplifting moment on Tisha B’Av. Yoel Gold’s Tisha B’Av films have gained momentum and became a staple of remarkable Tisha Báv inspiration.

As Rabbi Gold remarks, "Tisha B’Av is a time when people are seeking meaning and inspiration, looking to do something to spend their time in a fulfilling way. These films provide uplifting and inspiring messages to help people relate to Tisha B’Av better and elevate their experience as they yearn for closeness and connection to Hashem.’’

Our Beis Hamikdash was destroyed and we lost our closeness with our Father; we are lacking the sentiment of seeing and recognizing how Hashem is involved in our everyday lives.

What better way to recapture and highlight that than by watching Yoel Gold share incredible stories of Hashgacha Pratis.

With all new riveting stories of faith, this film will inspire you to hold on tight, and embrace the final wait for our long awaited dreams.

What are you doing this Tisha B’Av?
How will you be inspired?

Make sure to reserve your ticket now.
"The Wait" - an all new film, will be streaming on demand this Tisha B’Av at Hashkifa.com.
