Thug Robbed Cab Driver As Cop Pulls Up Behind

A police officer in Pennsylvania was able to thwart an armed robbery inside a taxi on Monday just by randomly pulling up behind the car when it was stopped at a red light.

The would-be robber, Victor Martinez-Herrera, 18, decided to pull a gun on his taxi driver, Ralph Valletta, after Valletta stopped his car

However the thug didn't realize a police cruiser had just pulled up behind them.

Just as he tries to grab the money from a terrified Valletta, the officer materializes at the side of the car, and realizes what was going on.

The incident was caught on the dash dam inside Valletta's car.

Vice President Biden Arrives in Israel

United States Vice President Joe Biden arrived in Israel on Tuesday evening at the height of a terrorist rampage in the country.

The vice president was received at Ben-Gurion Airport by Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, U.S. ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro and Israel ambassador to Washington Ron Dermer.

Biden will spend two days in Israel and the Palestinian Authority. He is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Reuven Rivlin in Jerusalem on Wednesday, before heading to Ramallah to meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Reporter Barely Escapes Crash Caught on Live TV

A reporter and photographer at KTVU were nearly struck by a car during a live report on Tuesday morning.

Alex Savidge and his photographer, Chip Vaughan, were covering a train derailment live during KTVU’s morning show when the crash happened right behind them.

One of the vehicles involved in the crash ran off the road and collided with the photographer’s camera.

In an interview on the morning show, an emotional Savidge said he is grateful to be okay.

“I heard Chip… he yelled out ‘Get out of the way!’ Instinctually, I jumped to my right… which is good, because the car came right by on my left-hand side,” Savidge said. Getting emotional, he added, “I would like to thank Chip… thank you buddy.”

Ostrich in Awesome High Speed Pursuit of Cyclists

A group of cyclists were recently pushed to their limits by an unusual coach -- an ostrich.

Footage showed the lightning-fast bird bearing down on the group as they warmed up for the Cape Town Cycle Tour in South Africa on Friday.

The massive bird kept pace with the athletes for more than a minute. But the Road Runner-esque animal eventually veered away and slowed down before the clip cut out.

Oleksiy Mishchenko, of Zurich, Switzerland, posted the video online on Saturday, and it's gone viral

Mishchenko said the cyclists were "stretching out their legs" with an 80-mile ride to the Cape of Good Hope when the ostrich suddenly jumped on the road.

"It was a little scary at first, but then I thought I gonna fell of my bike from laughter," he wrote in the video's description. "The ostrich didn't have any problem to keep up at 50km/h (31 mph) and apparently they do 70km/h (43 mph) with no sweat."

Ostriches can indeed hit that top speed. According to the National Wildlife Foundation, they can even run for 10 miles straight at a steady 30 miles per hour.

Daredevil Rides Snowmobile Off Cliff Edge

A daredevil rode his snowmobile off a 500m cliff edge only to leap from the seat at the last minute and parachute to safety.

Antti Pendikainen, 25, from Finland, wanted to test just how sturdy his ride was and came up with the ultimate test of throwing it off piste.

The stunt, which was filmed from several angles, saw the snowmobile crash spectacularly onto the snow below and roll several metres downhill before coming to a halt, appearing to be broken beyond repair.

But, after making his way back to the top of the cliff and parachuting back down to the crash site, Antti found that the damage to the snowmobile was no way near as bad as expected.

Dramatic: Officer Protects Child as They Are Hit by Car

 The shocking video shows officer Sergei Batalko grab the child before the car collides with them on March 2, in the city of Vitebsk, Belarus, protecting a child as they are hit by a car.

Captured on another vehicle's dashcam, the pair can be seen crossing a road. As they do so, a vehicle appears in the left of the video and veers right - in front of the other car.

The police officer child are then hit by the car and are knocked backward.

The officer suffered a bruised leg but the child was unharmed, according to a statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
