Jonathan Pollard Is Freed After 30 Years in US Prison
Jonathan Pollard, whose spying for Israel led to a serious rift between the Israeli and U.S. governments and between U.S. and Israeli Jews, was released from prison Friday after serving 30 years of a life sentence.
But even freedom for the former civilian naval intelligence analyst did not put the continuing controversy over Pollard to rest, as his Israeli wife criticized the U.S. government for refusing to allow him to move to Israel -- where Pollard is seen as a hero -- for at least five years during his parole.A Justice Department official said parolees require special permission for foreign travel and must demonstrate “a substantial need for such travel.”
According to Reps. Jerrold Nadler and Eliot L. Engel, Pollard is willing to renounce his U.S. citizenship to facilitate his being sent to Israel. The two New York Democrats wrote a letter to Atty. Gen. Loretta Lynch asking her to grant permission.
The White House has previously said President Obama has no plans to alter the terms of Pollard's parole.

Dramatic Rescue of Family Stuck in Flooded House
Dramatic video footage shows a desperate effort to save a family trapped inside a house as water cascades through a window in Amman. Heavy rainfall in the Jordanian kingdom resulted in severe flooding on Thursday morning.
The torrential downpour occurred on Thursday, November 5, and lasted only 45 minutes, but many homes, streets, and tunnels were flooded as water levels reached 40mm, according to meteorological sources.
Four people were killed, including three Egyptian nationals – two of whom were children.
The video shows a number of men trying to break a window of a basement to rescue the children trapped inside. Water can be seen streaming out of the building, with a group of children visible through the shutters. Eventually, one man manages to break the shutter with his hammer, and four children with their mother came pouring out of the house. “We did not fear for our lives but only thought of the kids inside the house,” he said afterwards in a video posted to Facebook. The group of children included a one-year-old, and the oldest was 12.

David Blaine Card Tricks in Crown Heights
Magician and illusionist David Blaine surprised a number of Crown Heights residents Wednesday, showing up in the neighborhood without warning.
The famed magician popped in at Sartoria Sacho - Primo Hatters on Wednesday afternoon, where he donned a traditional Chabad kapota and fedora.
He then visited the home of Shloime Rotter, the store's owner, where he performed a series of card tricks and other magic tricks.
Later in the evening, Blaine visited the home of CHJCC President Zaki Tamir, where he performed more tricks for delighted residents.
When asked to put on Tefillin, Blaine replied he "puts on tefillin quite often, with his Rabbi, Rabbi Hillel Heller of Crown Heights."

Fearless Man Plays with Bear
Brave Turkish explorer Cemal Gulas can be seen inviting his counterpart into a stream where a playful water fight ensues before they enjoy a tight embrace as if best friends.
The video was filmed as part of the The Asia Expedition project, which encompasses a 20-month voyage from the Bosphorus (Istanbul) to the Bering Strait.
The footage, thought to have taken place in Altai Republic, will feature in a forthcoming 40 minute documentary called Parenthood Of A Bear and as such, explores the complexities of a largely-feared animal.
With outstretched arms, Cemal is translated as saying 'Come to me, son. Come to me, son' and 'Come to me, sweetheart' in his native language. the bear, though familiar with his outdoor surroundings, tip toes into the flowing stream tentatively before later launching himself in with a splash at the foot of the waterfall.
Meanwhile, a playful Cemal, who is fully clothed and standing at waist-height in the water, starts to splash the bear before the fuzzy animal retaliates using both front paws while balanced on his hind legs.
The duo then embrace and tussle in a mixture of boisterous rough and tumble, and kisses to the forearm and neck; something the bear seems to enjoy. It's not behaviour characteristically seen from this type of mammal, which is more regularly feared, even if wildlife experts argue that their danger is a myth.

World Record Stair Run
In an incredible display of stair climbing, Finnish distance runner and orienteering competitor, Marten Bostrom completed a 400-metre stretch of stairs in 64.99 seconds, a time similar to what an athlete would run on the track for the same distance.
The stair-climbing display took place on Malminkartanonhuippu Park in Finland, an artificial hill near Helsinki, with the ascent consisting of 426 stairs.
Bostrom is known for his accomplishments in orienteering, a point-to-point sport that requires navigational skills while using a map in unfamiliar terrain. The 33-year-old won a gold medal at the 2013 World Orienteering Championships.

Biased Reporter is Actually Israeli Comedian
The video below caused disbelief and outrage last week.
Recorded by a bystander, the video reveals a female reporter blatantly lying while filming for a story in Israel. She and her cameraman were surrounded by Israelis trying to disrupt the broadcast. She can be seen clearly lying again and again, saying that her equipment was stolen (when it can all be seen in her possession), that they were trying to hurt her cameraman (the bystander was trying to cover the camera lens), and actually saying that she was being attacked. What?! One of the bystanders said “No one’s attacking you. How? How do you say that?”
Although there have been reports with depicting similar lies and bias (See Here, 5th video from the bottom), this particular one seemed almost too good to be true. Turns out it was.
Racheli Rottner, an Israeli comedian trolled us all. She wrote this story for the Israeli website Walla! and had this to say:
"Recently there have been numerous cases of falsifications and baseless facts in foreign media reports on the wave of terror in Israel. So I dressed up as a foreign correspondent and went to Jerusalem to distort some news myself, prompting Passersby to pounce on me angrily."

Penguins Try To Escape Zoo
This is the hilarious moment a group of penguins attempting to escape a zoo in Denmark - only for their footprints in the snow to give them away.
The cheeky troupe were captured on camera by a keeper at Odense Zoo who filmed the imprints of flippers in the light snow on the ground.
The confused keeper then follows the trail of footprints around a corner but at first it is unclear as to who could have possibly caused them.
Rounding the bend the video maker catches the culprits red-handed waddling towards the exit at speed in a valiant effort to escape. hilariously they appear to run faster when they sense the zoo keeper behind them as if very determined to get away. unfortunately for the crafty birds they reach a dead-end and one of them can be heard voicing its frustration.
Not to be defeated just yet however the plucky penguins turn around and appear to look for an alternative exit. eventually they are forced to admit defeat - for now at least - and rather sheepishly run back past the keeper and towards their enclosure.
The clip concludes with one of the birds honking as the group running in a line head off around the corner.

Mourning Instead of Celebrations - Lapid on CCN & More
Rabbi Ya’akov Litman, 40, and his son Netanel, 18 HY"D, who were shot to death by Palestinian terrorists outside Otniel south of Hebron on Friday afternoon, were laid to rest in Jerusalem on Motzei Shabbos. Five other family members – Litman’s wife, three daughters aged 5, 9, and 11, and a 16-year-old son – suffered minor wounds. The family was driving to a Shabbos pre-celebration of a fourth daughter’s wedding when the gunmen opened fire on their vehicle. All five were lightly wounded by shrapnel and the resulting crash, but were not shot.
