Man Springs Into Action, Catches Baby Mid-Fall
Incredible video out of China shows a man springing into action after he spotted a baby climb out onto a second story window. Other neighbors quickly gathered cardboard boxes to help break the baby’s fall, but there was no need – the man caught the one-year-old mid-fall. Many people are hailing him as a hero, but he said it was just instinct.
Tefillin Causes Bomb Scare on Australian Highway
Tefillin have caused a bomb scare in Australia, when police officers mistook tefillin for explosives. The incident occurred on Thursday, when police cars rushed to a highway near Melbourne following reports of a truck driving erratically,
When they arrived, the truck was parked on the sideway, and the driver was apparently praying, with tefillin strapped to his forehead, as is the Jewish custom. However, the police officers, unversed in the ways of the Jewish faith, believed the apparatus to be a bomb, and ordered the driver to step out of his vehicle. But the driver ignored the officers and drove off. Officers called in a bomb threat and immediately closed the highway, one of the busiest around Melbourne, and went in hot pursuit. But the officers were astounded when, after a while, the truck turned to the opposite lane, driving straight at incoming traffic at 100 km an hour.
Eventually police caught up with the truck, and the driver surrendered. Police estimate the driver is suffering from psychiatric issues, but admitted that he indeed was not carrying a bomb, but only tefillin.

A 9-year-old boy is lucky to be alive following a harrowing accident where he fell off his bike and under the wheels of a car. Dramatic dash-cam footage shows the boy falling off his bike and getting run over by the vehicle – and walking away.
CrownHeights.info has learned that the incident occurred just a few hours ago, at 7:15pm local time, on Amhurst Park in the Stamford Hill section of London.
Dramatic dash-cam footage captured the harrowing incident – and the subsequent miracle – when the child got up and walked away unharmed. The video shows the child riding his bike and attempting to stop, only to fall off and under the wheels of a moving car.
Miraculously the boy gets up and walks away entirely unharmed, the only damage being to his helmet which saved the young boys life.

Child Passes Away After Falling Three Stories In CH
Baruch Dayan Haemes - The 21 month old boy who tragically fell from the window in his apartment building this morning May 21 2014 has passed away.
Yisroel Levi Yitzchok Nemon, a 21 month old boy who was critically injured after
he fell out of a sixth-floor window of an apartment building inCrown Heights Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Police responded to a call about the injured toddler at the seven-story building on Crown
Street in Crown Heights shortly after 11:30 a.m. They say the boy fell from the sixth-floor apartment window to a third-floor balcony.
Emergency responders could not initially get into the third-floor apartment where
the child was on the balcony because no one was home, so they went into
a fourth-floor apartment just above the balcony and climbed down from
there to retrieve the child. According to first responders, the injured boy was not home alone; his mother and his babysitter were in the apartment with him.
It's not clear how he was able to get out the window, but a similar
apartment in the same building showed a wall air-conditioning unit was
placed below the window, which the child could have climbed on.
There were no window guards on the windows.

Man Spends 8 Years Penning 304,805 letters of the Torah
Yahoo News - Man spends 8 years penning 304,805 letters of the Torah without a single error - Patience, consistency, dedication. Look up any of those words in the dictionary, and you could easily see a picture of Richard Epstein, amateur Torah scribe.
The member of the Chabad Shul of Potomac, Maryland, recently penned the entire Torah (that's 304,805 letters) by hand using a feather quill on parchment made from sheepskin, the Washington Post reported. It took Epstein about eight years from start to finish. A professional can pen a Torah in about a year.
Epstein's journey wasn't made completely alone. He trained as an apprentice for about a year, and began by writing other religious texts, including the Book of Esther, before he began on the Torah. He sent photocopied pages to a Rabbi who checked Epstein's work on a regular basis. As for why Epstein took on such a monumental task, he told the Washington Post, “I felt I wanted to be closer to God, and I felt, ‘What better way to be closer to God than the gift that he made to the Jewish people?'"
From the author of the video: "This is a documentary about writing the Torah. - Dr. Richard Epstein, a prominent psychiatrist in Washington DC, has spent the past 8 years writing the sacred scroll of Torah the same way Moses wrote it over 3,000 years ago. He is dedicating his work to the Chabad Shul of Potomac, in Maryland.
Many thanks to Dr. Epstein for letting me show his sacred writings and taking his time to talk about his beautiful journey of faith, dedication and deep love."

Rare Footage Shows FDR Walking
Rare film footage featuring President Franklin D. Roosevelt walking to his seat at a baseball game helps dispel the myth that he completely hid his disability and shows the courage it took to go about his daily life, experts said Friday.
The clip shows Roosevelt, who was paralyzed from the waist down by polio in 1921, grasping a rail with one hand while being supported on the other side by an assistant. Roosevelt used a wheelchair because he could walk only with braces on his legs and the support of a cane.
Former Major League Baseball player Jimmie DeShong shot the film at the 1937 All-Star Game in Washington. On Thursday, the Pennsylvania State Archives in Harrisburg announced it had acquired the clip from the family of DeShong, a native of the state’s capital city.
The Roosevelt snippet is about eight seconds of DeShong’s silent footage, which overall is more than five minutes long.
More about FDR's and the hiding of his disability.
