Rare Inside Look at Ultra-Orthodox Jewish Cult Lev Tahor
The Global Network’s investigative television show 16 X 9’s hosted by Chief Correspondent Carolyn Jarvis gives viewers an hour-long special up-close and personal look inside the ultra-Orthodox Jewish sect Lev Tahor, which is currently currently embroiled in legal wrangling with both Ontario and Quebec officials over the future of some of its underage children.
16 X 9’s team was granted unprecedented access to the sect, spending a week inside the community and speaking with both members and leaders, including Uriel Goldman, who declares that officials have declared a “war against religion.” In discussing the sect’s move undercover of darkness months back, Goldman said, “After they passed the border of Quebec, everyone was cheering, and start to sing…just singing, singing, singing.”

America's Debt Crisis Explained
By Prager University: "Fact: America's national debt stands at $17 trillion. That's a tough number to grasp. Most people will never come close to making $1 million in any given year. How can we understand the magnitude of the hole our country is in? Well, imagine you owed your credit card company $200,000. On top of that you have to pay them about $4,000 per year in interest. You are bringing in $150,000 per year, but you are spending way more than that. How are you going to ever pay back that $200,000 debt? And what happens if you default? Well, that is America today. The problem is clear. And we brought Michael Tanner, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute, to propose a solution."

Settlers Pay Fine with $5000 in Coins
Shomron residents appealed the uprooting of olive trees on Givat HaRoeh. The court ruled the petitioners must pay the legal fees amounting to 5,000 NIS after losing the appeal. The money was paid to attorney Sfarad in 10 agorot coins.
Eight Shomron youths arrived in the law office of Michael Sfarad carrying eight pails of 10 agorot coins. Sfarad is the attorney for left-wing activists that petitioned the Supreme Court to compel the uprooting of the olive trees planted by Yonatan Rothschild. They also called on the court to distance Rothschild from the area.
They went to the Bank of Israel and withdrew 5,000 NIS in 10 agorot coins, 50,000 coins to be exact, and schlepped it to the office of attorney Sfarad to make the payment.
Officials in the attorney’s office explained it may take a number of days to write the receipt since they have to count the money.
Shomron residents involved in the case explain “we respect the court and therefore we were careful to pay the amount required.”

Palestinian Arab Muslim Converts To Judaism
Every morning for the last two years, Yaniv comes to this tiny yeshiva in a Jewish neighborhood in Jerusalem. Yaniv, a Palestinian, was born Muslim and converted seven years ago. He loves to study Judaism, he says, and is continuously excited by it. Yaniv is proud to be Jewish. Yaniv’s rabbi says that he is proud of his student who is passionate and determined in his love of Judaism.
Just two years ago he was called Busman, and lived in an Arab village near Nablus. Osman was released from an Israeli prison after 11 years, on charges of manslaughter. He discovered Judaism while in prison, and has since converted. This is Bussman, or Yaniv, moments after being released from jail, on the Palestinian side of the green line. Crying bitterly, Yaniv said that he had nowhere to go, now that he was a Jew. He could not enter Israel because he was considered a Palestinian, and in the territories, his life was in danger due to his conversion.
As we film Yaniv, he is approached by a man who tells him that he saw the footageof his release from prison on the news and that it was Yaniv’s steadfast belief in Judaism, which affirmed his own beliefs and brought him closer to his own faith. Yaniv is moved by the encounter.
Two years later, Yaniv is a star student at his yeshiva, has an adoptive family, and several matchmakers working to find him the right match. He has been living in Israel as a temporary resident, dedicating his life to the Torah, working odd jobs, dreaming of becoming a citizen, and even joining the military.

Giant Chimney Toppled In Australia
An iconic 200-meter brick stack was demolished in a controlled explosion south of Sydney, Australia, on Thursday. Thousands of people gathered near Wollongong to watch, as the thousand explosive charges were detonated to bring it down. About 250 nearby residents were evacuated and a 300-meter exclusion zone was enforced around the area for safety. It was demolished to allow redevelopment of the site for future use.
