Rabbi Heckles Tom Friedman
New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman was met with open hostility as he addressed students at Yale last week. During the talk, Chabad Rabbi Shmully Hecht of the Yale Eliezer society produced a large banner reading, "With friends like Chomsky, Soros, Mearsheimer and Thomas Friedman, does Israel need enemies?" Mr. Friedman responded curtly, saying, "That's stupid." Cops Stop Plane From Taking Off With Illegal Cargo
Brazilian federal police ram an aircraft as the plane attempts to take off from a rural road, because the plane was suspected of operating as part of a smuggling operation. The video, shot from the back seat of the car, shows one man in the car dressed in street clothes holding what appears to be a semi-automatic weapon. As the car pursues the aircraft, the driver reportedly says "Don't fire! I will hit the wing. Do not fire!" Soon after that the car catches up with the single engine aircraft and appears to strike the left wing, sending shattered glass into the car's cabin. One man exits and the camera pans to show the low-wing single engine aircraft sitting on a collapsed left main gear. The armed man exits and shouts at the aircraft's occupants.
According reports the event concluded with five arrests, including the plane's pilot and the capture of approximately $200,000 in laptops and electronic surveillance equipment.

Comedian Jimmy Kimmel issued a challenge to all parents, asking them to pretend they ate all of their children's Holloween candy and to videotape their reactions. Kimmel later said "i guess didn't expect so much crying, i kind of thought the kids would be just mad, but almost everyone of them cries..."
Some children seem to feel more betrayed when their parent tell them they were kidding, than when they say they ate the candy.

PM Netanyahu Confronted by Wife of Jewish Prisoner
Shahar Butbika, who when he was a border policeman in 2002 killed a 17-year-old Palestinian by throwing him off a jeep in Hebron, was sentenced in 2009 to eight-and-a-half years in prison. His friend and fellow policeman, Dennis al-Hazub, who documented the case, was sentenced to five-and-a-half years in jail. They were both convicted of manslaughter, kidnapping, abuse of power, assault leading to injury and obstruction of justice.
In the December 2002, border policemen detained Imran Abu Hamdia, ordered him to enter their jeep, beat him on the head, and then shoved him out of the moving vehicle. The entire incident was videotaped by one of the officers in the jeep, court documents released on Thursday said. However, the tape was subsequently destroyed.
According to the judge who sentenced him, Butbika was the dominant felon in the affair and significantly contributed to the youth's death, but his mental situation was not good and he had been diagnosed as suffering from a mental crisis since he was released from detention in January 2004.
Ora, mother of Shahar Butbika, who was at a demonstration last week demanding Jewish prisoners who killed Arabs be pardoned, says her son committed the crime after his friends were murdered and he was sent to clear the body parts.
"He suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder," she said. "If they free terrorists who murdered children, the people who committed the Ramallah lynch, then why not my son?"

Boy Arrested in BP through Shomrim
BPscoop - Shomrim was called to 18th Avenue and 55th Street for reports of a person inside a store and turning the place over. They arrived on the scene, and quickly called for the NYPD to assist them. The young suspect was apprehended, and placed under arrest. November 1, 2011.

Flight From Newark Crash Lands in Poland
A Boeing 767 from Newark, New Jersey, carrying 231 people on board made a dramatic emergency landing in Warsaw on Tuesday after its landing gear failed to open. Sparks and small fires erupted when the Polish LOT airlines plane landed on its belly without its wheels, but nobody was injured,
Powerful Explosive Breach of Condit Dam
For 98 years, the 125-foot high Condit Dam in southeastern Washington State held back the White Salmon River, creating a serene lake, but choking off the waterway to salmon. On October 26th, a hole was blasted in the base of 125' tall Condit Dam. In less than 2 hours, the reservoir behind the dam drained completely and the White Salmon flowed unimpeded by a dam for the first time in 100 years. Ecologists hope the increased flow of water will restore the waterway to fish and other aquatic organisms, as well as the birds and mammals that rely on them.

Iranian Boeing 727 Lands Without Front Wheels
The pilot of a Boeing 727 carrying 94 passengers and 19 crew managed to land safely at an Iranian airport on Tuesday Oct 18, 2011, despite the front wheels failing to drop into position for the landing. The rear landing gear had opened on the state-owned IranAir plane in preparation for landing at the Tehran airport, but a technical problem meant that the front wheels failed to deploy.
As shown in the video below, the pilot managed to keep the front of the aircraft off the ground while bringing the plane down. No injuries were reported and emergency services were on standby at the airport as the plane landed.
