Manhattan, NY - A gender discrimination lawsuit has been filed against one of the best-known electronics stores in New York.
Four women accuse B&H Electronics of workplace promotions that were discriminatory. The four women claim B&H refused to give them sales positions because of their gender. Three applied for jobs, but were turned down. The other currently works as a cashier.

Responding to many New Yorkers frustration with parking tickets being issued so close to the time that a parking violation occurs, the Council will vote to create a five minute grace period for New Yorkers who violate metered or alternate side parking restrictions. In FY 2008, the City issued close to 10 million parking tickets; of these tickets, 28,000 were issued at the exact moment that alternate side parking restrictions went into effect and 276,000 were issued within five minutes of alternate side parking going into effect. To address these types of infractions, the City used to have an informal grace period policy but this policy was subsequently eliminated. This legislation would take effect 90 days after being signed into law.

It took an army of producers about a week of work to transform the cavernous drill hall at the NY Armory in Brooklyn to a magnificent banquet hall for 4,000 guests and produce the evening's stunning visual effects.
Here is a clip of that transformation in fast forward shrunken into 2 and half minutes.

BBC TV: "London School Of Jewish Song" 1989
Yigal Calek's London School of Jewish Song are interviewed on legendary BBC children's television program Blue Peter. The interview took place after they returned from a series of concerts in Russia in the early days of Glasnost. They also perform 2 songs: Anim Zemiros and Shir Shir.
