Project Focus Presents: 8th Day - "Look Up"
In a world filled with distractions, it’s hard for us to focus on what really matters. Most of us have been there, mindlessly absorbed in our phones, and missing out on so much. “The mission of Project Focus is to encourage you to stop looking down at your phone, and Look Up instead,” explains Shmuli Rosenberg, the song’s composer and producer of the video. “That’s what the song is all about.”
The accompanying music video depicts a variety of people, around the world, in everyday situations who are looking down, until 8th Day comes along and reminds them to Look Up.
One of the song’s more intriguing lyrics proclaims: “I lift my eyes and see, there's a big world made for me, it's my life, and it's MY life that's worth living.” “All too often we miss out on the best moments of our own lives because we’re not looking up,” says Bentzi Marcus, “each of us has our own unique purpose, mission and life that we need to live.”
“This is the perfect message for this time of year,” Shmuli Rosenberg concluded, “we lose focus throughout the year, and on Rosh HaShanah we need to regain our focus and Look Up. We hope that people take this message to heart and share it with each other.”
Project Focus is a global movement whose mission it is to inspire people to stay focused and mindful every movement of their lives, and not miss out on what really matters. To learn more about the Project Focus and for inspiring messages, videos and tips visit TheProjectFocus.org

TYH Presents: Keser Melucha | Shaya Gross, Yoeli Klein
The words express the excitement and anticipation of a yid traveling to the Rebbe for Rosh Hashana. As each individual enters the holy day, they daven with the confidence that their teffilos will be answered and that blessing will flow throughout the year.
They travel back home, with renewed energy for the coming year and with this knowledge that Hashem is The King and that all bracha comes through Him.

Your Help Can Save Gitty’s life!
Or the night before, or the night before that.
Every night, I go to bed exhausted and wait for sleep to envelop me.
But it doesn’t.
I can’t go to sleep knowing that this might be Gitty’s last night.
And when I awaken, she’ll be gone.
My beautiful little Gitty is only 2 months old.
She was born with a heart defect that’s so rare that even the top cardiac specialists in Boston don’t want to operate due to her minimal chances of survival.
On the outside, she’s a beautiful, darling, smiley baby with bright blue eyes and delicate features.
But inside, she’s so sick and weak, and every minute of life is a struggle for her failing heart.
The doctors explained that if she survives the next few months, her chances of living to adulthood are much higher.
Gitty is only 2 months old, and I can’t go back to work because I’m constantly running back and forth with her between hospitals and clinics. She’s also in a far too delicate state to send her to a babysitter, because even a slight infection is life-threatening.
During the days and nights that I’m in the hospital with Gitty, my husband is taking care of our two preschoolers, so even he can’t work regularly now.
That’s why, aside from the all-consuming fear for Gitty’s life, we’re also drowning trying to cover our rent, food and basics.
Two months ago, Gitty’s siblings gave out candies in school on the day she was born, and they’ve barely seen her since!
On the rare occasions when she’s home, they mournfully ask me why she doesn’t stay longer? She’s so tiny and sweet, why doesn’t she ever stay? Why am I barely home?
What can I say?
That I wish, more than anything in the world, that we could both come home and be together again?
That I never dreamed we’d be living this nightmare, davening just to survive another hour and another day?
Dear Friends!
Your help can save Gitty’s life! Your support is the only thing that will save her life!
I’m reaching out to you with a mother’s desperate plea to save my daughter’s life, and Hashem should grant that you should always be among the givers of our nation.
Please daven for Gittel bas Rochel. b’soch sha’ar cholei Yisrael.

Yankie Meyer taught us how to do TRUE CHESED!
Yankie Meyer taught us how to do TRUE CHESED!
Misaskim, the world-famous organization founded by Yankie Meyer, should require no depiction or write-up. Everyone knows and understands the true chesed that simply appears whenever a Yiddishe neshama departs this world. What is less known is the endless breadth of what Yankie’s legacy of chesed resourcefulness that has permanently changed the landscape of Klal Yisrael.
One of the many programs that Yankie undertook was the launch of Project Yedid. The goal was and is to provide support for Almanos and Yesomim, specifically, after the end of shivah and for years to come.
Project Yedid is the largest percentage of Misaskim’s annual expenses. Project Yedid hosts Chol Hamoed outings for hundreds of yesomim, delivers Yom Tov packages, and even sends yesomim to summer camp. One of his personal favorite undertakings was what he referred to as “gebentshte gelt,” Chanukah gelt for yesomim — dollar-bills bearing brachos from gedolim in Eretz Yisrael.
Yankie would take the dollar bills to Eretz Yisrael personally to ensure the success of even the slightest detail.

"I Didn’t Dream I’d Fear Yom Hadin as I Do Today…"
Who will live??

Last year, when I recited “U’nesaneh tokef”, I didn’t dream that less than a year later, I’d be pleading for life…
Last year, on Rosh Hashanah, I didn’t dream that I’d fear Yom Hadin like I do today…
But this year, as my life hangs in the balance, the Day of Judgment, Life and Death mean so much more.
This year, I’ll be spending Rosh Hashanah in the hospital. Yom Kippur too. And probably Succos. If I even make it that far.
I’ll spend Yomim Tovim in the Oncology ward, in a place where death is as tangible as life.
I’ll spend Yom Tov davening with all my might, reflecting upon my life and the life of my unborn baby.
I sound like a grown woman. Would you believe I’m only 19?
I got married less than a year ago, and baruch Hashem, got pregnant right away.
Our simchah was complete. We were so happy, so excited to be embarking together on new life.
And then, our simchah overturned and was replaced with shock, devastation, and fear of death.
I woke up one night with unbearable pains in my abdomen. We rushed to the hospital, and everyone thought it was the pregnancy. They prepared me to lose the baby.
But it wasn’t the pregnancy or the baby, which were both, baruch Hashem, fine.
It was me.
The diagnosis was quick and shocking.
Cancer. Malignant. Life-threatening.
Threatening not only my life, but also the life of my unborn baby.
We can’t start radiation, because it will harm the fetus, and the chemotherapy is excruciating.
And unaffordable, because we’re doing it privately to ensure that it’s carried out in the best way possible to avoid harming the baby.
Instead of looking forward to the big day, instead of shopping around for strollers, cribs and a baby layette, I’m thinking about whether I’ll even live to hold my baby?
Will I survive?
The doctors explained that they’re doing everything to protect the fetus, because even if I survive, I may never be able to bear another child. We just got married. I have a job, but my salary is just enough to cover our mortgage and living expenses. Certainly not enough to cover the costs of private cancer treatment. Sometimes, the financial burden is as overwhelming as the illness itself…
My heart also goes out to my husband who never dreamed that he might lose his wife during our first year of marriage…
Neither of us dreamed that we’d spend our first Rosh Hashanah pleading desperately for dear life and another year together.
Neither of us dreamed that during these weeks leading up to Rosh Hashanah, we’d be pleading with Klal Yisrael for help, just so I can survive!
Please help us so I can recover, so I can give birth to a healthy baby and raise my child!
This year, when I recite the words “Mi yichyeh?” during “U’nesaneh tokef” I’ll bli neder daven for anyone who helps us. I’ll daven that you should have a ksivah vachasimah tovah, a good year, a year of health, happiness, prosperity and nachas with no worries!
Tizku l’mitzvos.
Joseph Ades - Bayom Hahu - Single
Bayom Hahu is that special song that comes along that you just can’t wait to share with the world! Composed and Produced by Yitzy Waldner, with an out of this world arrangement by Ravid Kashti, and impressive lyrics written by Miriam Israeli.
The song elicits a beautiful message of the world to come, when Moshiach arrives, the world will finally be at peace. There will be no more suffering, no more pain, and we don’t want to wait anymore. We yearn for that day to come, Bayom Hahu, on that day, we will sing and celebrate and be a part of something generations have waited for.

Inside The Home of an Orthodox Jewish Family
"This year, I went back to New York and revisited Rabbi Yoni Katz. He welcomed me enthusiastically into his home to meet the family and show me what it takes to maintain and Jewish home.
I also met with Rivky, Yoni's wife who also welcomes people from outside the community on to tours around the neighbourhood. Rivky tells me about how Hasidic Jews meet their partners and the role of motherhood in the religion. She talked about the yearning of a woman holding the family together.
Brocha Friedman, Rivky's mother, takes us to her favourite room of the house, The Kosher Kitchen, and tells us what makes food 'Kosher'."
