It was the early 1700’s and the long years of Galus had left us in a deep slumber that detached us from the soul of our tradition and even from our own neshamos. Along came the Baal Shem Tov, a dynamic and inspiring leader, who taught us how to wake ourselves out of the monotony of life and to reconnect ourselves to Avinu Shebashamayim, our loving Father in Heaven.
The Baal Shem Tov provided the alarm clock that beeped over and over again with the message-“Yidden! Find your own Penimious (inner selves) by exploring the Penimious(inner being) of Hashem’s Holy Torah! Don’t click snooze! Heed the call of his alarm telling us “your yidishkeit and your world can be awakened” and hasten to prepare to greet Moshiach.
For Pesach 21’ , the TYH Team partnered with 8th Day, themselves ambassadors of the Bal Shem and with Rabbi Yechiel Weberman of awesomepesach.com to bring this message to Yidden everywhere.

Srully Williger Mitzvah Tantz - English
Capturing the heimishkeit of the mitzvah tantz for chasanim and kallahs who may not speak Yiddish, Srully Williger continues to innovate as an English-language badchan, bringing the full beauty of this centuries old minhag to the next generation.
Having performed at weddings for nearly three decades, Srully has seen that the mitzvah tantz is the focal point of the night for many, with much of its flavor lost because of the language barrier.
Drawing on both his musical abilities and his unique gift for lyrics , Srully is breathing new life into this emotional minhag, giving new couples the ability to end their special night on a high note, whether they choose to have their mitzvah tantz in English, Yiddish or both.

Rabbi Yaakov Singer is no stranger to Jewish music. As a young boy he participated in the first Pirchei Choir album conducted by Rabbi Eli Teitelbaum A”H. While growing up he was always involved in music, inspired by the cantorial greats of yesteryear, attending their cantorial services, serving as an accomplished Baal Tefilla, singing at simchos, while also composing his own niggunim and Nusach Hatfilah compositions.

In davening we say Habeit Na, Racheim Na, as we are always asking Hashem to guide us and help us. However, at the end of the day, we control our lives to a point, and we obviously try to do our best. But we need Hashem’s help and guidance.
We try to be remembered for the good things we’ve done in our lifetime.
To quote the lyrics “I want to be a somebody to everybody” - I don’t want to affect just one person, but rather a lot of people. One wants to give tzedakah not just with their money, but with all their being. To guide and influence people, so that in the distant future, we are still remembered for all the great deeds that we’ve done. With Hashem’s help, one can have that and leave a golden legacy for future generations.
As with Yossi’s previous song, this song was composed and features original lyrics written by Yossi himself. He is joined by newcomer Y. B., the featured vocalist on this track, who really gives depth to the message of the song.

A Father's Tefillah for Their Daughter - Joey Newcomb
On מוצאי שבת פרשת כי תשא, Bnos Bais Yaakov of Far Rockaway held its annual dinner as a virtual event. The theme of the dinner was “Ascend!” and indeed, the term encapsulates BBY as Bnos Bais Yaakov continues to ascend in accomplishments every year.
The dinner campaign launched with a unique momentum this year, with esteemed honorees and a body of parents and supporters who really stepped up to the plate, showing an eagerness to support this singular institution.
This energy made the 2021 dinner campaign the most successful to date.
The dinner involved every department of Bnos Bais Yaakov comprising 1337 students, and the videos shown truly captured what BBY is all about.
As part of the program, BBY students recited a beautiful poem written just for the occasion. The program concluded with a stirring song about the tefillah of a father for his daughters, composed specially for the dinner and performed by six Bnos Bais Yaakov fathers. We thank our parent body and all friends of #BnosBaisYaakov for making the dinner the success that it was. We look forward to ascending further together!
