Tzadikim - Shmaya Fischer, Sababa Band, Shira Choir

In honor of the upcoming Yom Tov of Shavuos when Moshe Rabeinu gave us the Torah, Shmaya Fischer presents the magnificent song "Tzadikim", a beautiful melody that has never been recorded live.

Shmaya is a rising star in the Chassidishe music scene. Many of you have been hearing about his incredible voice. Shmaya is blessed with vocals that are powerful, yet hartzig and sweet at the same time. After watching this incredible performance, it will be clear that he is living up to all of the hype. The amazing Sababa Band executed the song to perfection, along with the sweet harmonies of the Shira Choir.

"Tzadikim" was composed by Moshe Wertzberger originally recorded by Yaakov Shwekey, originally from the album "Ad Bli Dai", released in 2009. The magnificent lyrics were written by Motty Illowitz. This live performance was recorded at the Annual Chessed Appreciation event at Ateres Avraham in Williamsburg.
 

Chicago Mishmar Program - Tamu Irue - Music Video

From September to June, there is a Thursday night mishmar in Chicago for bochurim, run by Rabbi Yosef Cohen.  

Between 100-150 boys from all the local yeshivos and high schools join together from 10PM until midnight to learn.  During off shabbosim, bochurim join from yeshivos all over. They all turn in their cell phones for uninterrupted chavrusah shaffs, and the kol Torah is unparalleled. 

One of the highlights is the divrei chizuk given at the end of the limud by various local Rabbanim and visiting Rabbanim. Some of the esteemed guests have been, Rabbi Yaakov Bender, Rabbi Reuven Feinstein, Rabbi Shlomo Kanievsky, Rabbi Yitzchok Koledetsky, and more.

After their ruchnius fill, the bochurim enjoy each other’s company with drummettes and “Reb C’s” famous cholent. The geshmak keeps them going until the next Thursday night mishmar!

Enjoy a small glimpse into this amazing מעמד, with the song “טעמו וראו”, written specifically for this mishmar. 

The song is composed by Yisrael Chaim Schur; lyrics by Yitzchak Elchanan Stein; sung by Uzi Bodner.

President Trump arrived early Monday morning at Buckingham Palace as part of a packed overseas agenda that includes an audience with Queen Elizabeth II and D-Day commemoration ceremonies. Yiddish Words at National Scrips Spelling Bee

The 92nd Scrips National Spelling took place at the Bee Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, Fort Washington, MD, starting on May 26th ending on May 31st, 2019.

Several of the high caliber words posed to contestants were either Yiddish or Hebrew, joining the many other difficult-to-decipher words from Russian, Sanskrit, Persian and the like that have been lobbed from the judge’s table over the years.

Driver Loses His Carrots After Truck Splits Open

A truck slammed into an overpass causing the entire truck to split in half. The rig was carrying hundreds of boxes filled with carrots Witnesses say the driver was speeding around 50 MPH. Trucks that slam into the overpasses never make it to the other end. NYPD says speed had to be a factor. the driver says he did not see the overpass and blamed his Waze navigation for sending him into the overpass. Over 400,000 in damages between the refrigerated truck, loss of food, towing fees, summonses etc. Miraculously there were no injuries.

Palestinians Riot as Jews Allowed on Temple Mount

Arabs on Har HaBayis were rioting Sunday morning, after police decided to allow Jews into the compound Sunday. Rioters threw chairs, tables, stones and books at police, who tried to fend off the rioters without firing shots. Police were eventually able to quell the rioting and clear out areas of the site. Police are now present on Har HaBayis and will remain there to prevent another outbreak of rioting.

The police decision to allow Jews onto the site Sunday was a reversal of its previous position and of policies in years past. Sunday is Yom Yerushalayim, marking the day the Old City and Har HaBayis were liberated from Jordanian occupation in the 1967 Six Day War. On Motzoei Shabbos, thousands gathered at the Kosel, and more events are set for Sunday.

This year, however, the day coincides with the end of Ramadan, and traditionally only Muslims have been allowed on Har HaBayis during that period. It should be noted that there were no Jews on Har HaBayis when the rioting broke out Sunday.

The umbrella group representing Jewish organizations that ascend the mount said that they “were very happy that the schedule of the opening of Har HaBayis to Jews for the first time takes into account events on the Jewish calendar.” Gedolei Yisrael have reiterated numerous times the traditional halachic tenet that ascending Har HaBayis at this time is forbidden for Jews.
