Fearless Crane Put Two Tigers to Shame

A red-crowned crane found itself in a tiger enclosure in a Chinese wildlife park. Unfazed, it faced off against the two giant cats – and won.

A video taken on a cell phone by a visitor at the Fuyang Wildlife Park shows what happened

The crane got caught in a strong gust of wind and was blown straight into the tigers’ den during a display in the park in Zhejiang Province. The two predators immediately went after what they thought was an unexpected easy snack.

The bird’s doom appeared sealed... but after a few seconds of running, it turned around, spread its wings, and faced the cats in a classic Kung Fu position. Within moments, it was the tigers that were on the run.

The tigers repeatedly tried to team up on the brave crane – but were again sent packing. The standoff ultimately went on for minutes, according to CCTV.

In the end, the wildlife park’s staff managed to get into the enclosure and rescue the bird – or perhaps the hapless tigers. “Master Crane” reportedly got off with minor injuries.

Terrorist Taken Out After Running Down 2 Police Officers

Two Israeli policewomen were injured in east Jerusalem on Wednesday when they were hit by a car driven by a Palestinian who was then shot dead, police said.

It was the latest in a string of lone-wolf attacks by Palestinians using cars to ram pedestrians or police, a trend which began in Jerusalem in October but has also spread to the West Bank.

The incident took place in A-Tur on the Mount of Olives, with police spokeswoman Luba Samri saying the driver veered off the road and struck two border police officers, both of them female.

The two policewomen were moderately injured and taken to different hospitals in the city, she said.

The driver was identified by relatives as 41-year-old Imran Abu Dheim from the east Jerusalem neighbourhood of Jabal Mukaber.

Swedish Man Scares Away an Attacking Bear

This is the incredible moment a man scared off an attacking bear by roaring like a wild animal and 'making himself very big'. Ralph Persson was out training a new hunting dog when the Scandinavian brown bear appeared out of the trees and started charging towards him. But amazingly, Ralph, a hunter from Jämtland, Sweden, managed to scare the wild animal away - by screaming as loud as he possibly could. Everything was captured on video by him and his wife.

BTW, this method solved an attacking bear problem (noise may or may not at times make things worse), but most likely, this method will not solve any other problems faced in life.

Student Refuses to Deliver Grad. Speech on Shabbos

Binghamton University graduating senior Don Greenberg, was looking forward to addressing his fellow students as a commencement speaker at Binghamton University’s engineering school when his friend broke the bad news: May 16, graduation day, falls on a Saturday.

A triple major from Teaneck, N.J., with a 3.93 GPA, Greenberg is an Orthodox Jew who observes the Shabbos.

But when 2,500 students and their families gathered on the upstate New York campus for the Watson School of Engineering graduation last Saturday, the twenty two year old was there at the podium, but did not speak. Instead, on jumbo screens on either side of the stage, he watched himself deliver the graduation address he taped in the university’s video studio three days earlier. Here is that video.

Don Greenberg explains the unique circumstances surrounding his selection as the student speaker at this year's commencement ceremonies for the Watson School of Engineering.

Train Hits Bus Passengers Narrowly Escape

Surveillance video released Saturday showed the moment a train crashed into a bus in Georgia, ripping through it and throwing the driver and a passenger to the ground.

The freight train collided with the back end of the bus after traffic backup caused the driver to stop with the vehicle partially on the tracks, according to reports

Five passengers could be seen in surveillance footage escaping from the bus as they heard the train’s horn and saw it approaching.

When the train crashed into the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority bus, it ripped the side of the bus, knocking the driver to the ground.

Although the driver was the only person actually on the bus during the collision, surveillance footage showed the impact caused the bus door to slam into a passenger who was fleeing the bus, throwing the man to the ground.

Everyone survived the incident.

Large Hail Stones Destroy Car's Windshield

A mile-wide tornado touched down in north-central Texas as a storm system swept through with large hail and damaging winds. The storm knocked out power to more than 30,000 people in Texas, according to online reports compiled from local power companies.

Storm chasers Spencer Basoco and Lawrence McEwenHuge were pummeled by hail while chasing near Stephenville, Texas. The hail busted the windshield with ease. Hail was larger than grapefruit or softball size. They took refuge where they could under trees and next to a building.
