Delegation of Dirshu Rabbanim Trip to Radin
This video was shown at the Dirshu UK Convention
Gedolei Yisrael representing the Dirshu Torah Empire and tens of thousands of lomdei Daf Yomi B’Halacha throughout the Jewish world, united at the sacred burial site of the Chafetz Chaim, Rabbi Yisrael Meir Hakohein, zy”a, in Radin and spilled heartfelt prayers on behalf of Klal Yisrael and specifically those who learn Daf Yomi B’Halacha every day.
The delegation took off from Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday February 8 2015. after midnight, and landed four-and-a-half hours later in Minsk International Airport in Belarus. In short time, they found themselves seated on a hired coach bus setting off for the three-hour journey to Radin. During the course of the ride, Rabbanim from the delegation took turns expressing the greatness of this event, priming themselves and the others for the exalted moments when they would reach the holy tziyun of the Chafetz Chaim. They expounded upon the enormous zechus they had in carrying the tefillos and requests of thousands of lomdei Torah who have committed to learn Daf Yomi B’Halacha every day and increase their knowledge of Halacha.
The event commenced in the main sanctuary of the holy Yeshiva in Radin with a rousing Tefillas Shacharis followed by a shiur in Daf Yomi B’Halacha given by Nasi of Dirshu, Rabbi Dovid Hofstedter, shlit”a. Ninety years after the Mishnah Brurah was written and studied in this place, the famed Yeshiva in Radin absorbed another lesson in the Torah of its master, the Chafetz Chaim.

Seven Sassoon Children Are Laid to Rest in Israel
Seven Jewish siblings who died in a devastating New York house fire were laid to rest in Jerusalem on Monday at an emotional ceremony attended by several thousand mourners.
Friends and relatives of the Sassoon family attended the service, as well as supporters who only learned of the tragedy through the news. The chief rabbi of Israel and mayor of Jerusalem also paid their respects.
The bodies of the children, ages 5 to 16, were flown to Israel overnight from New York and were immediately taken to Jerusalem in a convoy escorted by police.
“Why seven? Seven beautiful lilies,” the children’s father, Gabriel Sassoon, cried out in an anguished eulogy. “So pure. So pure.”
He recounted how his children enjoyed studying the Torah and other Jewish texts.
“They were such innocent children,” he said, his voice choking up. He later called out the names of his children, one by one.
The fire has shattered the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community in the Midwood neighborhood of Brooklyn. Investigators believe it was caused when a hot plate, left on for the Jewish Sabbath, malfunctioned, setting off flames that incinerated the stairs of their home, trapping the children in their second-floor bedrooms as they slept.
The blaze killed three girls and four boys. Both the mother and a daughter — Gayle Sassoon and 14-year-old Siporah Sassoon — remain in critical condition. New York fire officials have described the blaze as the city’s worst house fire in recent memory.
The tragedy had some reconsidering the practice of keeping hot plates on for the Sabbath, a common modern method of obeying tradition prohibiting the use of fire on the holy day.
Israeli media have said the family lived in Jerusalem before moving to New York two years ago. The tragedy dominated Israeli newscasts.

The coffins of the victims of the fire disaster in Brooklyn have arrived in Israel.
Elian (16), David (12), Rivka (11), Yehoshua (10), Moshe (8), Sara (6), and Yaakov (5) Sassoon died after a hot plate apparently malfunctioned. Orthodox Jews leave hot plates on during Shabbat to keep food warm, in accordance with halacha.
The blaze trapped the family inside their home as they slept.
The mother of the family, Gail, 45, and daughter Tzipora, 14, escaped by jumping out of a window. They are currently in critical condition in a local hospital.
The funeral procession began Sunday afternoon in Brooklyn, and will end in Jerusalem, where the bodies will be buried later today.

Thousands Attend Funeral For 7 Siblings Killed In Fire
Brooklyn, NY - Thousands of mourners cried an endless stream of tears as men, women and children from all segments of the Jewish community thronged to Borough Park to show kavod acharon to the seven Sassoon children who died in a tragic fire of epic proportions this past Shabbos.
The streets around Shomrei Hadas Chapels were clogged with people as stiff winds and unfathomable grief filled the air during the levaya which took place at 3 PM this afternoon.
The service began with prayers in Hebrew and shrieks could be heard through speakers that broadcast the funeral to the several thousand people gathered inside and on the streets.
Seven coffins were lined up inside the funeral chapel. The standing room only crowd was addressed briefly by the heartbroken father, Gabriel Sassoon, who told everyone present that his children represented seven pure offerings, sacrificed on Rosh Chodesh Nissan.
“They were so pure,” said Sassoon who was at a religious conference when the flames broke out. “My wife, she came out fighting.”
“My children were unbelievable. They were the best,” lamented Sassoon as mourners outside the funeral home cried in the streets. “You have to love them as parents. You have to love them as teachers.”
“I don’t know how I could have everything and now I have nothing,” said Sassoon.
“There’s only one way to survive this: It’s complete, utter and total surrender,” he wailed.
Due to the Sephardic tradition of not eulogizing the dead, the seven hearses that carried the four brothers and three sisters who died in the fire were on their way to JFK Airport shortly after 3:30.
The children, ages five to sixteen, will be buried tomorrow on Har Hamenuchos, while their mother and one remaining sister remain hospitalized in critical condition with serious burns sustained during the blaze that swept through their Bedford Avenue home in one of the deadliest fires to hit the city in years.
