Man Charged In Latest Knockout Attack On Jew In BP

A suspect was charged Saturday morning November 23 2013. in a string of violent attacks in Borough Park , known as the “knockout game.”

Four suspects were taken into custody Friday night. One of the suspects, identified as Amrit Marajh, 28, was charged with aggravated assault as a hate crime, among other counts. The other three suspects were released without charges. The suspects allegedly hit the victim without warning, similar to recent incidents related to the so-called “knockout game” in which mobs of young people randomly sucker-punch innocent people for fun.

Around 2:45 a.m. Friday, investigators said a 24-year-old Jewish man was the victim of the latest attack. He was surrounded by four men and punched in the face as he walked down 18th Avenue in Borough Park, wearing a yarmukle. NYPD officers were nearby in an unmarked police car,

In an exclusive video interview with photographer Heshy Rubenstein the victim of Friday morning’s knockout attack in Borough Park describes the pre-dawn assault that resulted in the arrest of four men. The victim, who asked to keep his identity private and was filmed with a hooded sweatshirt concealing his face, expressed his gratitude to the officers at the 66th precinct and to Borough Park Shomrim for their quick and efficient response.

Interpreter Comments on UN Bias in Hot Mic Gaffe

Nov. 14, 2013 - The United Nations General Assembly, acting through its Fourth Committee, comprised of all 193 UN member states, on Thursday adopted nine resolutions condemning Israel, and none relating to any other country, including contentious states such as Syria or Iran. While most of the diplomats in attendance sat silently, an unlikely voice of protest came from the translator’s booth.

Unaware of the “hot mic” in front of her, the interpreter broadcast her opinion to everyone at the General Assembly: “I mean, I think when you have five statements - not five - like a total of 10 resolutions on Israel and Palestine, there’s gotta be something, c’est un peu trop, non? [It's a bit much, no?] I mean, I know there’s other really bad sh** happening, but no one says anything about the other stuff.”

Many of the delegates laughed, and the interpreter, horrified that her real thoughts had been heard by her employers, apologized.

Warning! Contains mature language.
