America, Russia Agree on Syrian Chemical Weapons Deal
Russia and the United States put aside bitter differences over Syria to strike a deal on Saturday September 14 2013. that by removing President Bashar al-Assad's chemical arsenal may avert U.S. military action against him.
After three days of talks in Geneva, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov demanded Assad account for his secret stockpile within a week and let international inspectors eliminate all the weapons by the middle of next year
President Obama touted the possibility for a diplomatic solution in Syria in his weekly address to the American people but added the U.S. will keep up the threat of military action. "We will maintain our military posture in the region to keep the pressure on the Assad regime," Obama said in his weekly internet address. "And if diplomacy fails, the United States and the international community must remain prepared to act," Obama said.

A moving time-lapse video released to commorate the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks shows the nine-year construction of the 1,776-foot One World Trade Center from the ruins of Ground Zero.
Produced using hundreds of thousands of high definition cameras positioned overlooking the building site, the video was produced by EarthCam and unveils the assembly of the 104-story building which is the tallest in the Western hemisphere.
Starting from the ground and then up, the beginning of the time-lapse shows the cleared area left by the collapsed North and South tower's become a huge construction site and culminates in the installation of the huge 408-foot, 758-ton silver spire that now tops out the skyscraper.

President Obama Addresses the Nation on Syria
President Barack Obama tried Tuesday to sell a military intervention he never wanted to an American public that opposes it, telling the nation that he needed authorization to attack Syria for chemical weapons use as leverage in a newly emerged diplomatic opening from Russia.
"Our ideals and principles as well as our national security are at stake in Syria," Obama said in making the case that the United States must act when dictators such as Syrian President Bashar al-Assad "brazenly" violate international treaties intended to protect humanity.
The 15-minute nationally televised speech initially was planned as Obama's final push to win support from a skeptical public and Congress for his planned attack on Syria for what his administration calls a major chemical weapons attack on August 21 that killed more than 1,400 people in suburban Damascus.

The Life of Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson
A look at the remarkable and heroic life of the mother of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory.
As the child of an esteemed rabbinic family, young Chana became known for her scholarship. When her husband Levi Yitzchak became the Rabbi of Yekaterinoslav, Ukraine, she took a pivotal role in Jewish affairs in the city. After he was exiled by the Soviets for spreading Judaism, she stood by his side, enduring unfathomable suffering with dignity.
Ultimately, she made her way to the New York, where she would spend the last years of her life beside her son, the Rebbe, who doted on her -- as if to make up for the years of separation.Despite her own shining personality, she would come to be identified affectionately by the gift she gave the world, with the simple title, 'The Rebbe's Mother.' The story behind the story of one of the greatest Jewish leaders of recent times.
Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson passed away on the 6th on Tishrei, 1964/5725.

Ancient Golden Treasure Found at Foot of Temple Mount
In summer excavations at the foot of the Temple Mount, Hebrew University of Jerusalem archaeologist Dr. Eilat Mazar made a stunning discovery: two bundles of treasure containing thirty-six gold coins, gold and silver jewelry, and a gold medallion with the menorah symbol etched into it. Also etched into the 10-cm medallion are a shofar and the image of a Torah scroll.
The medallion may be the oldest Torah ornament ever found in archaeological digs.

CBS News Interviews Syrian President Bashar Assad

Assad has given very few interviews with foreign news outlets since the war-torn country's two-year conflict began. His last was with France's Le Figaro newspaper, which ran Sept. 2, just as France was seriously debating whether to support a U.S. call for intervention in Syria.
