(שיר השירים ה,ח
The Chosson came to see the Kallah, but she was too lazy to open the door, and so he left. [Regretful,] she later went to call him, but the guards of the city beat her. While lying on the ground beaten and wounded, she finds the daughters of Jerusalem, and she tells them: "I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem! If you find my beloved - what will you tell him? Lovesick I am!" ( Beaten and wounded because of my love).
The Nimshal: the Posuk describes the state of Am Yisroel after it was lazy and missed the call of Hashem. Eventually Klal Yisroel looks for Hashem, but the nations beat and wound them, while their sons are killed Al Kiddush Hashem. Finding it difficult to communicate directly with Hashem, Am Yisroel looks for ways to indirectly transfer the message.
