Our Only Hope is Open-heart Surgery in Boston
Every day, we hear another story, another tragedy.
So many tears, so much heartbreak. How many times did I hear these stories myself?
How many times did my heart wrench in pain for the people suffering?
I always felt for them. I’d often make a small donation or at least offer a prayer on their behalf…
Never in a million years did I imagine that, one day, the story would be mine.Never did I dream that my tragedy would be posted online, my misfortune exposed to thousands. Who would have thought that one day I’d be in this position of reaching out to my Jewish brothers and sisters with a desperate, urgent cry to save my baby’s life? But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me start from the beginning.
Five months ago, I gave birth to a baby boy. Several hours later, we were informed that our baby has a serious heart defect, but that iy”H, he’d be alright. Our newborn was rushed into emergency surgery to have a stent inserted. The prognosis was good, and the doctors assured us that we’d be home before we knew it.
But then, our dreams collapsed.
We were on the way to being released from the hospital, when our baby suddenly went into cardiac arrest. We saw the Malach Hamaves before us trying to steal our baby away from us, but Hashem sent us a miracle and saved our little Asher.
The hospital staff was incredible, and baruch Hashem, managed to resuscitate him, saving his life at the very last second. Our baby survived, but barely. His life is still hanging by a thread, and the doctors say that his only chance of long-term survival is open-heart surgery in Boston. We’ll do everything in our power to save Asher’s life, but we desperately need help to cover all the affiliated costs of the travel and surgery. Six months ago, before it all started, my husband was learning diligently in Kollel, and I supported our family as a kindergarten teacher.
We led a simple, content life. We couldn’t afford much in the way of luxury, but we didn’t need it, and we were happy with all we had. Since the birth, I’ve barely left the hospital. My maternity leave has long since expired, and our meager savings are rapidly dwindling…With no choice, I’m reaching out to you with an urgent, tearful cry for help.
Open your hearts and hands so we can take Asher abroad for surgery!
Help us save our baby’s life! Help us bring him safely home! We can’t do it alone!
In the zechus of your generosity, may you and your family enjoy only health and happiness forever!

Grandson Surprised by Grandma's Twin
From the author: "I have an identical twin and she moved from Pennsylvania to Florida about 6 years ago. She comes to visit about 1-2 times a year. In this video, we are going to visit my grandson that doesn’t remember my twin. It had been 15 months since her last visit. He is 3 now so he was much younger and doesn’t remember her. He has seen her on FaceTime but being so young he never understood. I felt at this visit he would be old enough to grasp it. We went to visit my grandson and decided to see if he would know. He always greets me the way he did her when I go to visit. To his surprise, he wasn’t greeting his Nanny. His reaction was priceless. I’m happy to have caught it on video."

"Will My Yehuda’le Live?"
“After Succos” is here.
I promised myself that as soon as the Yomim Tovim are over, I’d sign the papers authorizing Yehuda’le’s surgery.
I promised myself that I’d do everything in the world to save my baby’s life.
I davened my heart out on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. I wept and pleaded as never before. Sometimes, I was sure that the well of tears had dried, yet before I knew it, my eyes would overflow again. I’m so frightened for the future, so terrified of the unknown.
There is nothing more powerful than tefillos, which is why I don’t stop davening, and I ask you all to continue davening for us too. But we can’t rely on miracles alone. We have the obligation of hishtadlus.
Yehuda’le’s condition is deteriorating fast, and this treatment is his best chance to recover and live a normal life.
There’s nothing that a mother won’t give to save her child’s life. There’s nothing I won’t do to save Yehuda’le. It’s hard. It’s humiliating. But as the days pass too quickly, and I watch Yehuda’le gradually fade away, I know that I can’t delay any longer.
Which is why I’m turning to you now with a desperate, tearful cry for help.
All that’s stopping Yehuda’le from receiving life-saving treatment is Money.
We still urgently need another $100,000 to cover the costs of the treatment.Today. Right now.
Because tomorrow or the next day might be too late.
From one mother’s heart to another and from one Jewish heart to another, I beg you:
May Hashem grant you health and joy, and may you always be from among the givers!
Kasher Dibarta - Moshe Auslander - Carlebach
In the original recording, Reb Shlomo explains, "Uvenei, uvenei, uvenei- build it already!"
This niggun is truly an avoida of mamish banging- repeatedly- on the gates of Yerushalayim: "Please, please, please let us in! Kasher Dibarta, like you said you would!" The strongest thing a child can say to a parent is "You said you would." There are very few ways to wiggle out of that. To a child, your word is your word. Tatte, you said you would bring us home. Please, let it be soon.
Thank you to the Carlebach family for their assistance.
