Save Yehuda’s Life, You Too Will be Sealed in Book of Life!

The words of ‘U’nesaneh Tokef’ still echo in my mind.

The words “?מי יתייסר Who will suffer?” resonate deeply within me,

Tearing at my heart.

I recited these words, thinking only of my little Yehuda.

My baby.

He’s only one year old, and he’s already suffered enough for a lifetime.

Little Yehuda is stricken with cancer, and all his little body knows is suffering.

He’s so little.

How can someone so tiny suffer so much?

I recited the words of ‘U’nesaneh Tokef,’

Wondering what Hashem has decreed for my beautiful little baby?

Will he have life? Peace? Health?

We’ve davened so many tefillos. We’ve accepted kabbalos and given tzedakah. We’ve spilled rivers of tears.

But there’s one thing we—his parents—haven’t done for him yet.

We still haven’t signed the papers to authorize the treatment that he needs to live.

Because we can’t afford it.

We can’t even afford the advance payment on the treatment!

We’re davening with all our hearts that little Yehuda will be signed and stamped in the Book of Life,

but we lack the means to sign the sheet of paper that promises him a chance of life and recovery!

I’ve spilled so many tears that there are times when I feel depleted of strength.

So with my last vestige of strength, I’m reaching out to you, begging you!

It’s only a few days before Yom Kippur, and we’re all seeking those extra zechuyos!

You can have the zechus of saving my baby’s life!

ותשובה ותפילה וצדקה

LIVE: Grand Opening of The City Mikvah - Mei Daniel

Show your Support

The City Mikvah - Mei Daniel is located in the lower level of the Bucktown Wicker Park Chabad Jewish Center on Milwaukee Avenue.

The mikvah is dedicated in memory of Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz z"l, who led Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois until his sudden passing at the age of 59. He dedicated his life to bringing light and life to others, and it is a fitting tribute that his legacy will live on through the Jewish lives impacted by the mikvah that bears his name.

"The mikvah is a beautiful thing for me," said Regina, who was first introduced to the concept by Sara Moscowitz in advance of her wedding in 2009. "It's very spiritual ... a time to feel connected, something so beautiful I look forward to. I love every aspect of it, the preparation, the immersion—and it will be all that much more special here."

"There are not many observant people in this area," adds her husband, Eric. "Mikvah was the first mitzvah we did as a couple, the beginning of our life together. If other people will find an attractive and inviting mikvah experience right here in the neighborhood, there is no telling what can happen."

Join Chabad in completing this special project to bring greater spirituality and purity to the Bucktown Jewish community – for the the future of this community, the pride of the Jewish people, and the legacy of Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz z"l.

From the beautiful words of the Navi Yeshayahu, we ask that the Ruach of Hakadosh Baruch Hu, rest among us. May this tefilla bring forth the tools we need to usher in the coming of Moshiach.

Young Chezki Torenheim Visits the Yanuka

Twelve year old Chezki Torenheim, the incredible young boy who was diagnosed with a terrible rare illness after he was born, continues to inspire all those he encounters.

Recently he visited Rav Shlomo Yehudah Beeri, known as the Yenuka, inviting the Rav to participate in his bar mitzvah celebration which will take place soon. The boy asked the young Rav for a Bracha, while excitedly showing him his new tefillin.

Rav Shlomo Yehudah was born in Eretz Yisrael in 1988, an only child born after many years. His paternal grandfather, Rav Shlomo, was a scion of the sages of Yemen and learned with the great mekubalim of Jerusalem after he arrived in the Holy Land. His maternal grandfather, Rav Yehudah, made aliyah from Aleppo, Syria.

the Yanuka, as he’s been known since his teenage years, comes form a reference in the Zohar to souls who already from childhood are exceptional in their Torah knowledge. For more about the Yenuka, see Here.
