Umacha "Baruch Levine"
A message from Boruch Levine :
"Dear Friends,
It has been the מנהג of כלל ישראל that when we say the temporary goodbye to our departed, we recite the פסוק in ישעיה of ומחה ה' דמעה
It always struck me how these words are not sad words, rather they are hopeful words, words we desperately cling to until that time will come.
I composed this song with a balance of minor and major chords. In music, minor chords validate the feeling of sadness and loss, while major chords evoke feelings of happiness and hope.
כלל ישראל feels the pain of too many אבלים in mourning. We are devastated and broken. May Hashem change their sadness to simcha so we can very soon feel the hope and happiness that is waiting for us...... It's right around the corner."

ומחה ה' אלוקים דמעה מעל כל פנים וחרפת עמו יסיר מעל כל הארץ
ישעיהו כה ח
והפכתי אבלם לששון ונחמתים ושמחתים מיגונם.
ירמיהו לא יב
And Hashem will erase the tears from all faces,
And He will remove the disgrace of His people from all of the land
(Yeshaya 25-8)
I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and from their sorrow make them rejoice. (Yirmiya 31-12)

Dr. Anthony Fauci Discusses "Remdesivir" The Drug
Dr. Anthony Fauci: Remdesivir Is ‘A Very Important First Step’ In Fighting Coronavirus.
This morning, Dr. Anthony Fauci tells the Today Show that the antiviral drug remdesivir is “the first step in what we project will be better and better drugs coming along” to treat COVID-19, but cautions, “This is not the total answer.” He expects the FDA to approve the drug “very quickly” and says that Gilead Sciences is “committed to getting it out as much as they can, as quickly as they can.” He also says he feels “cautiously optimistic” that states can start reopening if they have contact tracing capability.
Dr. Fauci speaks, yesterday, on the clinical trial for potential coronavirus treatment drug remdesivir:
“What it has proven is that a drug can block this virus ... This drug happens to be blocking an enzyme that the virus uses."

Build the World - JOEY NEWCOMB (an a capella song)
On a beautiful summer evening, less than a year ago, I had the opportunity to join the Hatzalah Barbeque: it was a chance to focus on what drives these incredible people, Yidden who fall asleep with radios near their pillow, whose ears are always attuned for the call of a needy brother or sister.
By the end of that night, this song had been conceived, developed and fully written.
Up until two months ago, we almost took them for granted, these many chessed organizations and the great people who volunteer and staff them.
No longer. Now we realize what it means to live a life emulating the Creator, Mah Hu, af atah- Just as He is filled compassion, so must we be.
The world was created with one key ingredient: chessed. Olam chessed yibaneh. All of Creation was spawned by this middah, kindness, and these organizations are all fueled by that first spark of Divine chessed.
Ashreinu !
This track is an expression of our gratitude to them- not specifically during these trying times, but always, before and after. The examples used in this song, the four life-saving organizations, were chosen to represent all others, simply because they are front and center during times when so many families are struggling, in various ways.
But they are not the exceptions. It’s true for every organizations, every volunteer and staffer and donor, so when you sing the song, fill in the blank with the tzaddik in your life.
You know who they are.
And of course, special thank you to the great Doni Gross who can make anything sound amazing.
Composed and performed by: Joey Newcomb
Produced by: Doni Gross
Recorded at: DeG studios NYC
All vocals: Joey Newcomb

Jewish Brothers Are Making Face Masks out of Yarmulkes
With masks in short supply, a pair of Houston teenagers found a way to use yarmulkes to help protect some of their city's most vulnerable people -- the homeless.
With the help of their family, Matthew and Jeremy Jason have given away over 300 face masks made from yarmulkes to Houston's homeless.
The project is called Kippahs to the Rescue. A kippah (Hebrew) or yarmulke (Yiddish) is a traditional Jewish head covering. The brothers came up with their idea over a family Shabbat dinner, which is typically a time to reflect and be grateful.
"The community has given us a lot, and my family wants to be a part of that," 15-year-old Matthew Jason told CNN. "We want to be able to help others."
The Jasons were discussing the recent CDC recommendations for Americans to wear face masks in public to help slow the spread of the coronavirus.
"We realized that the kippah fits the shape of a mask."

During the pandemic, the Masbia food network had ceased its hot-meals service.
