Israeli Border Police Officer Run Down and Stabbed

Security camera footage from terror attack shows Israeli Border Police officer run down and stabbed by terrorist east of Jerusalem

The attacker, a 25-year-old Palestinian man, hit a Border Police officer with his car officer at the Kiosk checkpoint in Abu Deis before exiting the car, armed with scissors, and stabbing the officer in his upper body. Soldiers at the site shot the assailant, who later died, according to Border Police.

A pipe bomb was found at the site and a bomb squad was brought in to neutralize it.

The attacker has been identified as Aibraham Muhamed Halsi, from the village of A-Sawahra. Residents of the village reported a number of police forces entering the village and going to the house of the assailant.

The 20-year-old Border Police officer who was attacked was moderately wounded, and Magen David Adom paramedics arrived at the scene to treat him. He was taken to Sha'are Tzedek medical center.

According to the police, "It seems this was a terror attack by stabbing. A Border Police officer was stabbed, and he is still concious."

Palestinian police reported that there were arrests in A-Sawahra, including the arrest of the mother of the assailant.
