Historic wedding of the oldest grandson of the Bobov Rebbe took place on the grounds of Floyd Bennett Field.
The Chusen, Eluzer Halberstam, is the oldest son of Rabbi Chaim Shulim Halberstam, who is himself the oldest son of the Bobov Rebbe, Grand Rabbi Benzion Halberstam Shlit”a.
Preparations for the wedding have been ongoing over recent weeks to prepare the field so it can accommodate the thousands of Chasidim expected at the wedding.
The Chusin is also a grandson of Rabbi Berish Meisels, the Satmar Ruv of Boro Park.
The Chusin’s father, Ravi Chaim Shulim Halberstam’s wedding brought together two of the largest Hasidic dynasties years ago, with the previous Bobov Rebbe, Grand Rabbi Shlomo Halberstam Zt”l, and Grand Rabbi Moses Teitelbaum Zt”l of Satmar, both being grandfathers of the Chusen and Kallah.
That wedding brought together thousands of people who came to see two Gedolei Hador dancing together at a wedding of their descendants.

Developer: Plans To Build 'Tallest Building' In Israel
The Azrieli Group said on Wednesday it would build Israel’s tallest skyscraper in Tel Aviv at an estimated cost of 2.5 billion shekels ($666 million).
The 91-story tower, shaped as a spiral, will be completed in six to seven years and will house offices, apartments, a hotel and commercial space.
It will form part of the Azrieli complex that already includes three buildings in varying geometric shapes - one circular, one triangular and one rectangular - and is one of the city’s most identifiable landmarks.
The complex includes one of Israel’s busiest shopping malls, which will be expanded by 13,000 square meters to 50,000 square meters.
The building’s architect is New York-based Kohn Pedersen Fox, which is responsible for five of the 10 tallest skyscrapers in the world.
Azrieli said the tower’s design was inspired by the curves of a snail’s shell as well as the folds of ancient scrolls.

Brazen Thief Caught Stealing at Security Checkpoint
A brazen thief was caught stealing more than £7,000 in cash from another passenger's tray as he passed through an airport security checkpoint.
CCTV footage captured the thief as he approached two security scanners at the Fiumicino airport in Rome.
Another passenger, standing ahead of him, had placed two envelopes of cash inside a bright yellow tray before attempting to walk through a metal detector.
But he was held up by a security officer and the middle-aged thief was able to walk through a second scanner to reach the other side first.
The thief, who had placed a bag and coat in another yellow tray, was then filmed waiting for his property to travel through the airport's X-ray scanners.
But as he stood watching out for his belongings, he noticed the two envelopes full of cash appear on the conveyor belt.
He looked around for a moment before casually picking up the money and appearing to stash it in his pocket. He then tied his jumper around his neck and grabbed his bag before making a quick exit.
The victim, who had since passed through the security checkpoint, panicked when he noticed his money wasn't there.
The passenger, from Pakistan, was going to use the cash to pay for a sick relative's medical care, Italian police said. But the thief was arrested as he was boarding a flight to Russia shortly after. He has since been sentenced to a year in prison. The man had allegedly stashed the money in a toilet roll holder and had planned to retrieve it on his return to Rome.

Reporter Goes Inside Secret Militant Tunnels
The Israeli army began Operation Northern Shield along the border with Lebanon to uncover and disable tunnels built by Hezbollah, which could be used by fighters to enter Israel secretly and mount attacks against civilians.
