Biller Family Survival Fund

Following last Wednesday’s fatal car crash of renowned melamed, Reb Reuven Chaim Biller, z”l, Klal Yisroel is uniting in support for his widow and eight children, six of which still live at home. Reb Biller zt”l was the beloved head counselor of Pupa Camp in Bethel, NY for fifteen years, and previously served as a cheder rebbe in Flatbush, Skver, Pupa and other institutions.

Reb Biller’s car crashed in the Catskill Mountains Wednesday afternoon, after being hit head-on by a driver who was reportedly texting. It took 40 minutes for emergency responders to remove him from the wreckage.

Hundreds gathered for Reb Biller’s levaya, and community members poured in for the shiva, sharing thousands of heartfelt personal stories about the influence he had as their teacher and as a well-respected, active community member.

Those close to the family are aware that in addition to the tragic shock of their loss, Rebbetzin Biller has been left with a heavy financial burden. As the widow gets up from shiva, she has had to face her next challenge: supporting herself and six children alone. An emergency fund has been started for the family, with the goal of enabling a mother and her children to move through their mourning process without the stress of financial burden.

The Chesed Fund page shows moving footage of the Biller children at their father’s levaya. The youngest is just 4 years old.

Freeway Sign Climber Dances, Taunts, then Flips

Los Angles - A man wearing only boxer briefs and tennis shoes snarled rush-hour traffic in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday after he climbed a busy freeway sign, hung protest posters, danced repeatedly and apparently mocked his would-be rescuers.

Reporters and passers-by shot videos of the man’s antics as he climbed around and on the freeway sign, eluding firefighters wearing harnesses and police officers trying to get him down.

The man, who identified himself as “Dephree,” did various dances and the strongman pose as traffic backed up for miles on State Route 110. He hung signs that read “Dephree,” ‘‘Fight pollution, not each other” and “Give a hoot, don’t pollute.”

The southbound lanes of the freeway were closed as firefighters placed inflatables underneath the man and extended ladders to him. The traffic snarl spread onto connecting freeways and surface streets and workers in nearby buildings stopped to watch the events unfold.

Cars passing on the other side of the freeway at times honked at the man and one even shouted to police: “Shoot him!”

The standoff ended when the man eventually did a backflip off the freeway sign down to an inflatable below. He was unhurt and quickly arrested.

Out of Control Tank Crushes Car in Belarus

This is the moment an out-of-control army tank crushed a car as it swung around a corner on a road in Belarus.

Dramatic footage shows two war machines roaring on to the road in the city of Grodno in western Belarus.

But while the first successfully negotiated the corner, the second appeared to take the bend too sharply and swerved onto the wrong side of the carriageway - before crushing a Volkswagen Polo waiting at a red light.

Incredibly, the driver and his grandson who were in the car managed to escape with just a few scratches. The pair were reportedly able to exit the car by themselves and waited by the side of the road for the emergency services to arrive.

The driver, who has not been named, told local media: 'We were waiting, letting the military column pass, after they entered the road from a side road.

'After a few tanks passed by, one started sliding and crashed into my car.'

Police Dog Performs CPR

This is the impressive moment an adorable dog wearing a flashing police light 'saves' the life of his trainer by performing CPR.

In the clip, filmed by the Madrid police, the police officer dramatically falls to the ground before lying down and staying perfectly still.

The tiny pooch, named Poncho, then runs over to his fallen comrade straight away and tries to wake him up by pushing his side.

When he doesn't move, the dog jumps up and down on his chest four times before placing his ear next to the police officer's mouth to listen for breathing.

After doing that, he goes back to jumping up and down before repeating the move once again.

Woodbourne Town Shul Opens For Summer Season 2018

The famous Woodbourne Shul at 457 Route 52 proudly announces the opening of its Summer 2018 vacation season. The shul will again service the public with a full program including dozens of round-the-clock minyanim, numerous shiurim both daily and weekly, the renowned Kolel Mesirus Nefesh and a constant supply of light refreshments.

This unique blend of Torah, Avodah and Gemilus Chasodim are the hallmark of the charismatic Rabbi Mordechai Jungreis shlit”a, Niklesburg Rebbe. Beginning in 2010 the Rebbe revitalized the decaying building and transformed it into a booming center of life servicing the entire Sullivan County and beyond.

The Historic Congregation Bnai Israel building – in the past it served such luminaries as Rabbi Moshe Feinstein and the Tzehlimer Rav zt”l – has become a major draw for summer vacationers looking to grab a minyan and a quick bite on the go. Of course, there are many, many regulars as well. Under the magnetic leadership of Rabbi Jungreis shlit”a, the 96-year-old building now listed on the National Register of Historic Places has been brought back to life as tens of thousands of people pass through its doors each summer.

Man Crawling out of Burning Plane after Crash

Harrowing footage has captured the moment the teenage sole survivor of a Detroit plane crash that left his parents dead managed to roll from the burning wreckage and stumble to safety.

The single-engine plane, which was carrying three people, was en route from Arkansas to Coleman A. Young International Airport on Sunday Evening when it apparently struck a power line and tree.

It crashed in a vacant lot just feet away from homes before bursting into flames.

Police said a 54-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman perished in the fiery crash, but the couple's 17-year-old son miraculously survived.

Footage shot by witnesses showed the young man desperately trying to free himself from the wreckage. At first he could be seen struggling to squeeze through one of the windows as the plane door became engulfed in flames. After several seconds, he was forced to go through the flames and commando roll out of the plane.

The survivor, who was the pilot, stumbled to safety with burns clearly visible on his arms.

Detroit police Captain Mark Thornton said the survivor remained in a critical condition in hospital. He credited 'courageous citizens' for helping to rescue the man.

The Capture and Trial of Adolf Eichmann Yimach Shemo

“Operation Finale” is a travelling exhibition that tells the story of the pursuit of the Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann, who made his way to Argentina after World War II. At his trial, Eichmann insisted that he was “just following orders” when he arranged for millions of European Jews to be transported to death camps. Jim Axelrod examines the actual glass booth that Eichmann sat in during his trial in Israel, and spoke with former Mossad agent Avner Abraham, who curated the exhibit, now at the Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg.
