Yud-Tes Kislev with the Lubavitcher Rebbe

On the 19th of Kislev in 1798, the founder of Chabad Chassidism, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, was freed from prison in czarist Russia. More than a personal liberation, it was a historic event that began a new era in the revelation Chassidic teachings.

Ever since, the 19th and 20th days of Kislev have been celebrated as “Rosh Hashanah of Chassidism.” Each year on this day, the Lubavitcher Rebbe would hold a Farbrengen to celebrate this event and highlight its relevance to us today.

This presentation is a compilation of videos related to this day, including documentary footage from a film on the Alter Rebbe’s liberation and highlights of Farbrengens with the Lubavitcher Rebbe.
