Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin was in Monsey Thursday, where he visited the Forshay Rebbe. Later he Farbrenged for Yeshiva Bochurem studying in Crown Hights and in Monsey. In attendance was former Monsey resident and super champion of this story, Yated editor, Rabbi Pinny Lipschutz. Western NY & PA Clobbered by Heavy Snow
In places like Oswego, N.Y., residents are used to the snow. And they're even good-natured about it! On Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, the city woke to three feet of freshly fallen snow and everyone did what they always do: they got to work digging themselves out.
Help This 6 Year Old Girl See The World Again
It all started months ago while our child was in school when we suddenly got that phone call from her teacher telling us that our child is laying on the floor after she got hurt in her eyes, after that we were rushed in to the hospital where after a few hours we were told that terrible news -that no parents in the world should ever hear- that our child is BLIND. after hearing that we started running around to all doctors in Israel trying to see if anything could be done to get back the eyesight for our beloved child, finally with Hashem's help one doctor told us that if we go to America, there is one doctor in South Carolina that has a good reputation of healing people in these situations.
After the doctor checked her eyes he said in a very positive tone that he has the ability of helping our child thru an expensive operation, upon hearing the price of the operation we were very shocked to find out that after going so much thru and spending so many thousands of dollars we won't be able to do the operation because of one thing; MONEY.
We felt very lost at that time, "how in the world are we going to raise so much money for our child's operation when we are already in deep debt of all the expenses until now".
Our dear Rabbi, Harav Nissan Duvid Kivak Shlit"a gave us his blessings and told us that we should do this point of Hishtadles and Hashem will do the rest.
Now we are coming to you with tears in our eyes that you should please help us in getting the money needed to get our child see again.
With just a small donation you can change her life!

Brave Trail Guide Stands up to Charging Elephant
From the Up-loader - Filmed in the Kruger National Park in South Africa, the elephant encounter is an authentic example of how calm energy can influence the behavior of wild animals.
Most trail guides who have seen the video admit that they may have shot the elephant in self defense, it was that close. The footage is a testament to elephant's intelligence and complex behavior and shows how humans and animals can connect on a meaningful level. Therefore, ultimately, the video is about the elephant and not me. This is the heart-stopping moment trail guide Alan McSmith calmly stood up to an elephant charging at him in Kruger National Park.
The footage, captured on December 1 in South Africa, shows the elephant charging twice as McSmith faces him without batting an eye, forcing the pachyderm to eventually retreat.

2 Jeeps Gives Lesson How Not to Park
it's not that hard to park in between the lines, folks. When you don't, you waste space. And whether intentional or not, you end up inconveniencing other motorists, giving them a reason to hate you. How those other motorists with that hate sometimes varies, depending on who's doing the messing. While some people will just drive away and find another spot, the two Jeep drivers in this video apparently decided to mess around with the Mercedes driver.
A video shared online shows two Wrangler drivers parking their off-roaders within inches of a Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class that's parked in two spaces at a Best Buy parking lot. It appears that the idea here was that if the Benz driver was going to park like a douche, the Wrangler drivers could one-up that performance and give him a taste of his own medicine.
When the Benz driver returns, the person is forced to crawl through the crossover's hatch to get to the driver's seat...but the more entertaining part is watching him freak out.

Rubashkin Saga Did Not Only End with Dancing, It Began with It
A Melava Malka with Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin, during his trial, and 12 days before his conviction. October 31, 2009. Postville, Iowa.
For years on end, every Motzei Shabbos, Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin and his wife Leah, would host a Melava Malka at their Postville home. Attending would be the Bochurem from the local Mesivta (high School) which he supported, as well as anyone else from the small Shtetl who wanted to participate. Sholom Mordechai would relate a Chasidic tale, as is customary, and sing beautiful Zmiros with the crowd. Occasionally, there would be music and dancing as well.
In late October of 2008, Sholom Mordechai was arrested on charges that would later all be dropped. Two weeks later, Sholom Mordechai was arrested a second time, this time on charges that he would eventually be sentenced, for 27 years in prison R"L. During those months, the weekly Melava Malkos would continue to take place, only with more vigor and strength.
He was initially denied release on bail based on the Anti Semitic claim that as a Jew he posed a flight risk to Israel, due to Israel's "law of return." After being imprisoned for two and a half months, the ruling was reversed and Sholom Mordechai returned home.
The darker his future seemed, the brighter his faith shined. During those ten months, a week would not pass without joyous dancing at each Melava Malka.
12 days after this video was recorded, Sholom Mordechai was once again imprisoned after being convicted of bank fraud. In June of 2010, Judge Linda Reade handed out the cruel, harsh, and unprecedented sentence of 27 years behind bars.
But that did not change Sholom Mordechai. In the moments before being thrown into his cell, he penned a letter to the students that came to support him, stating: "I am unshaken in my faith of Hashem. I am an Eved Hashem and accept what comes."
A little over 8 years later, on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, during the last day of Chanukah 5778, President Trump commuted Sholom Mordechai's sentence, immediately releasing him, and reuniting him with his family, friends and community.
Watch this video to get a glimpse of a human-being experiencing and displaying unshakable and genuine faith in G-d. See what heavenly faith can accomplish. Recognize how each and every one of us has the potential to acquire such faith, though may G-d never test us in this way.

Shlomo Yakov Weber & Zemiros Group
Night after night, I bring joy & tears to Chosson & Kallah at their Mitzva Tantz. This time though, it was a Bar Mitzvah I was called upon to perform, and thoroughly enjoyed the event as I sang with the Zemiros Group, accompanied by Yossi Eidlisz.
My father always told me to not only choose certain occasions, but to perform wherever I was asked to and to find excitement and uniqueness in each event.
Enjoy the melodies and harmonies – it was a truly beautiful night!
