Incredible: Passers-by Flip Over Convertible to Save Driver

A group of random Good Samaritans in South Carolina are being credited with saving the life of a man who rolled his convertible off a freeway, after they all pulled over and worked together to flip the car back over.

The incident occurred on Interstate 20 in Lexington County, South Carolina on Tuesday July 19 2016

Eyewitnesses say the vehicle lost control and left the road, before flipping on its top.

More than 15 cars are said to have pulled over after seeing the wreck, and with a combined effort were able to free the male driver. According to one man who helped out, Bert Sortin, who posted a video of the scene to his Facebook, the car 'veered off of the road and flipped',

'We grabbed my med kit, ran to the site and attempted to flip the car with just a few of us. No go,' Sortin wrote on his page.

'The car was leaking gas, so we knew we needed to get him out quickly. Went back and brought my truck and tow strap to pull off the doors, but they were stuck and the strap kept snapping.

'By that time, more concerned folks showed up and we were able to flip over his car and free him.

'It was awesome seeing everyone working together and saving this man before the EMTs could even arrive. God and fine American citizens were looking out for this fella.'
