This Shabbos World Jews Unify to Observe Shabbos
The Shabbos Project is an international Jewish movement, promoting Unity through the celebration and observance of one Shabbos together - the entire Jewish People as One. Originated in South Africa in 2013, where the majority of S. African Jewry kept a single Shabbos together, South African Chief Rabbi Warren Goldstein has had unprecedented success in encouraging the observance of Shabbos to 350 cities in 35 countries.
Last October the project enjoyed unbelievable success among South Africa's largely non-religious Jewish communities, where 3,000 women gathered to bake Challah ahead of Shabbas, and thousands more took part in Havdallah ceremonies at the conclusion of Shabbat on the streets of South Africa.
Below is a collection of videos, some of which explain this project in detail, but most being clips of people, some famous, others not, encouraging and supporting the " Keeping It Together" project.
Alex Clare Is Keeping It Together - Alex Clare is a well-known British singer-songwriter. His debut album, The Lateness of the Hour, released in 2011, was re-released in the US in 2012 after the single "Too Close" – featured in a series of Microsoft advertisements – became an overnight global sensation. "Too Close" eventually peaked at number 4 on the UK Singles Chart and number 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and was nominated as “Best British Single” at the 2013 BRIT Awards.

The Ultra Orthodox Vs. The IDF - VICE News Reports
Since Israel became a state, the Haredi population has been exempt from serving in the military. However, growing pressure from the secular community regarding the group’s high unemployment rate, state benefit dependence and lack of military service led to a new law being passed in March 2014 that requires Haredi men to provide military service.
Vice News reporter Alex Miller visited Israel and the Netzah Yehuda, an ultra-Orthodox battalion made of volunteers, to get their point of view on the conscription law, as well as leaders of the ultra- Orthodox community to get their viewpoint on the military and how the ultra-Orthodox serving will affect them.
Reports show that approximately 20 percent of men lose their religious identity while in the army. Yoelish Krauss, the unofficial director of EDA Haredit, says, “They want to draft the Haredi in order to extinct them.” For the ultra-Orthodox, taking boys out of Yeshiva and putting them in the military is corrupt to the community, which values the study of the Torah above all else.
Netzah Yehuda training camp in the Jordan Valley had more than 800 members as of 2013, which is still a very small percentage compared to the rest of the IDF. For those serving, challenges are faced every day but expected. According to one soldier, serving in the military as an ultra-Orthodox member is different because “you’re serving a higher purpose.” Abuse from their own community sometimes goes hand-in-hand with joining the army, he continued. Some boys get kicked out of their homes, and video footage has shown ultra-Orthodox military members getting physically assaulted. With the Haredi population estimated to make up 25 percent of Israel by the late 2050s, it is projected that serving in the military, ultra-Orthodox or not, will become the standard.

Terrorist Runs Over Pedestrians in Jerusalem, 9 Wounded
Several people were wounded on Wednesday evening October 22 2014, in a suspected terror attack near the light rail train station near Ammunition Hill in Jerusalem.
According to eyewitnesses, a car drove up to the station and ran over passersby disembarking from the train.Nine people were wounded in the attack, including the suspected terrorist. A baby in critical condition, a woman in seriously condition, two people moderately and four more lightly. The car drove 14 meters on the tracks itself, hitting disembarking passengers and continuing on along the length of the track. The driver hit a pole a few hundred meters down and attempted to flee on foot, when he was shot. The driver was arrested soon after the attack and hospitalized with moderate to serious wounds.
This kind of attack has been used several times in the past in Jerusalem, most recently in August, when a Palestinian man driving a digger in Jerusalem used his vehicle to flip over a bus, killing Avraham Walles, a 29-year-old father of five. Five others were lightly wounded in the attack: the bus driver, three passengers and a police officer.

Israeli Police Forces Vs. Arab Temple Mount Rioters
The Israeli police released shocking footage of Monday's (October 13) riots on the Temple Mount, demonstrating the extent to which the force must steel themselves against a horde of angry Muslim Arab rioters on Judaism's holiest site.
In the footage, released Monday night, police are shown surrounding the main hall of the Temple Mount's Al-Aqsa mosque, where rioters barricaded themselves in with a cache of steel rods, fireworks, and other weapons. They are then seen battling with the rioters, firing weapons as fireworks are thrown directly at them from the mob. Once they finally enter the compound, the mosque is shown to be in shambles.
Monday's rioting is the latest in a series of escalations on the Mount, which is Judaism's holiest site - but, under the iron-fisted Jordan Waqf, is largely prohibitive of Jewish visitors and bans Jewish prayer entirely.
Muslims and Christians, by contrast, have free reign on the Mount - leading to regular rioting and laments that the area has become, literally, a terror base. Despite this, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has vowed to "maintain the status quo" on the Mount.

Boro Park Jew Rushes To Help Man Covered In Flames
It was a dramatic scene on the streets of Borough Park, Brooklyn Tuesday afternoon, as a man caught fire and ran for help covered in flames.
Surveillance video showed the man running in a panic into oncoming traffic, trailing smoke and flames. A witness, Alex Mayer, ran to his aid. “It was a very scary scene,” Mayer said. “I chased him. I told him to drop and roll, basically.” Another Good Samaritan also helped with a fire extinguisher.
Witnesses said it all started with an explosion inside the building at 910 McDonald Ave. in Brooklyn. “We heard a loud bang, and we started seeing, smelling smoke rushing up — upstairs,” a woman said. Fire investigators believe the fire started in the basement, where the young victim was spraying some kind of flammable flavoring on some material that is used in hookah pipes. Something sparked a fireball that rolled through the building. The intense heat melted a plastic spray bottle and ignited a fire that severely damaged the first floor. “Hazmat units are testing some unknown chemicals found in the basement,”
Mayer said he will never forget the terrible scene. “He was conscious. He was yelling, ‘Help! Help!’ and then like, slowly, he was falling in and out of consciousness, but he was definitely breathing the whole time by himself,” Mayer said. The victim, in his 20s, was taken to Maimonides Medical Center with critical burns over much of his body.

High Rise Cemetery In Israel
At first glance, the multi-tiered jungle of concrete off a major central Israeli highway does not appear unusual in this city of bland high-rises. But the burgeoning towers are groundbreaking when you consider its future tenants: They will be homes not for the living but rather the dead.
With real estate at a premium, Israel is at the forefront of a global movement building vertical cemeteries in densely populated countries. From Brazil to Japan, elevated cemeteries, sometimes stretching high into the sky, will be the final resting place for thousands of people. They are now the default option for the recently departed in the Holy Land.
After some initial hesitations, and rabbinical rulings that made the practice kosher, Israel's ultra-Orthodox burial societies have embraced the concept as the most effective Jewish practice in an era when most of the cemeteries in major population centers are packed full.
The Yarkon Cemetery on the outskirts of Tel Aviv has been his flagship project. As the primary cemetery for the greater Tel Aviv area, its traditional burial grounds are at near capacity with 110,000 graves stretched across 150 acres. But thanks to an array of 30 planned vertical structures, the cemetery will be able to provide 250,000 more graves without gobbling up any more land, providing the region with 25 years of breathing room.
Officials say those who insist on traditional burial will still have that option; they'll just have to drive a little further and pay for it. Cemeteries, they say, are not designed for the dead but rather for the living who want to visit them. The hope is that by attending funerals, people will be exposed to the new system and learn to appreciate its upside.

Viral Photo of Jew Screaming at Arab Lady Holds a Secret
This photo went viral yesterday on Twitter and elsewhere, and was retweeted by American journalist Max Blumenthal among hundreds of others who expressed their disgust at the Jew for screaming at the poor, frightened Arab woman.
But if you look closer at the photo, you see something interesting. The book that the Arab woman is holding is a Tehillim! It seems that she grabbed the Psalms from the Jewish man - just in time for the photographer to show his reaction to having had a holy book stolen from him in broad daylight. In fact, it is the Muslim women who created a gauntlet at the Chain Gate where Jews were exiting the Temple Mount.
