This Shabbos World Jews Unify to Observe Shabbos

The Shabbos Project is an international Jewish movement, promoting Unity through the celebration and observance of one Shabbos together - the entire Jewish People as One. Originated in South Africa in 2013, where the majority of S. African Jewry kept a single Shabbos together,  South African Chief Rabbi Warren Goldstein has had unprecedented success in encouraging the observance of Shabbos to 350 cities in 35 countries.

Last October the project enjoyed unbelievable success among South Africa's largely non-religious Jewish communities, where 3,000 women gathered to bake Challah ahead of Shabbas, and thousands more took part in Havdallah ceremonies at the conclusion of Shabbat on the streets of South Africa.

Below is a collection of videos, some of which explain this project in detail, but most being clips of people, some famous, others not, encouraging and supporting the " Keeping It Together" project.

Alex Clare Is Keeping It Together - Alex Clare is a well-known British singer-songwriter. His debut album, The Lateness of the Hour, released in 2011, was re-released in the US in 2012 after the single "Too Close" – featured in a series of Microsoft advertisements – became an overnight global sensation. "Too Close" eventually peaked at number 4 on the UK Singles Chart and number 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and was nominated as “Best British Single” at the 2013 BRIT Awards.

South African Chief Rabbi Warren Goldstein started a revolution last October when he introduced "Keeping it Together," a project to have Jews observe the Shabbat together, and received an unprecedented turnout of over 55,000 participants, many observing for the first time. This Shabbat, the rabbi is planning to take his project global, and he has the Jewish communities of 350 world cities in 35 countries who have already enthusiastically asked to take part. Arutz Sheva got a chance to speak with the rabbi at Tel Aviv's David Intercontinental Hotel this week ahead of the Shabbat, where Rabbi Goldstein explained about the project.
