MBD and Michoel Streicher sing Lo Omus, composed by Reb Boruch Chait upon request by Menachem OBM.
Im Hashem Lo Yivneh Bayis, sung here for the first time.
The following is a note from Mordechai Ben David, printed on the cover of the concert album:
It was a winter day in 1988. While driving down Rechov Malchei Yisroel (Geula) towards "Mea-Sh'arm", i stopped for a traffic jam and i noticed a young boy across the road staring at me. Walking straight up to my window he asked, "are you MBD?" before i could say yes he continued, "my best friend is in the hospital with the terrible sickness, you must come visit him, you'll have the biggest Mitzvah. He loves your music." He gave me an offer i couldn't refuse.
The next morning at 8:00am he was knocking at my hotel room. When we arrived at "Hadassah" it was the 1st day after 6 weeks of quarantine, that Menachem was out on a wheel chair for some fresh air with a mask covering his mouth He was overjoyed to see me. We took some pictures and spoke for a while. It was the beginning of a very unique relationship. Menachem was always surrounded by many friends and neighbors who always came around to help in every way possible. The boys form the neighboring Yeshiva "Ateres" in Bayit V'gan would always come around to study, to play, to sing or whatever would lift the spirits of the Erental family. I had the opportunity on several occasions to join in the most wonderful "Melave Malkas" in the Erental home. We sang and danced for many hours. Click Here for More
Reb Boruch Chait was one of the special people who entertained every Motzei Shabbos without fail. He also composed Several custom made songs at Menachem's bedside. (some of which are featured on this album).
At the age of 15 on Erev Pesach 1990, Menachem succumbed to this dreadful illness after a heroic battle. He returned his pure soul to his creator.
After his passing away the Erental family remembered how helpful their friends were in the most desperate times, with that in mind they formed an organization to help the unfortunate families stricken with this problem, with staff of 250 volunteers to visit the sick children to entertain etc. Also a computerized system for helping with doctors and medical needs.
This concert was held at "Binyaney Ha'oomah" in Yerushalayim as a fundraising effort for Zichron Menachem. Yhei Zichro Boruch.
