Murdoch Hails Israel's Economic Success

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch delivered a speech at a conference geared towards encouraging economic investment in Israel, in which he described the Jewish state "as a light unto the nations" and praised the country's "creativity," collective "brain power," and tremendous achievements in the face of unyielding threats.

Murdoch also recounted that twenty years ago he invested in a small Israeli company based out of an apartment in Jerusalem, and that what he "got from it in terms of financial and technological returns has been critical to his company in recent years."

Murdoch also weighed in on the recent controversy prompted by the removal from the Democratic Party platform of any reference to Jerusalem as Israel's capital. According to Murdoch, "what was good for King David is good for me. So, for me, Jerusalem is the capital of Israel."
