Update: CNN News: The plane, which was empty of passengers wasn't as close as the video makes it appear, and the flight was executed as planned along an air show flight path and under the direction of an air traffic controller, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman said Tuesday.

1200 feet is less than a quarter of a mile...
i had just copied and pasted the text form CNN. but they have since fixed it themselves. i guess i'l go ahead and do the same.
