“Ner Hashem Nishmas Adam”
The soul of a person is the candle of Hashem.
The Talmud teaches that Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi, the compiler of the Mishna, instructed his family to keep a candle burning after his passing. He explained that such a light brings tremendous and elevated pleasure to the departed neshama. From this teaching, the custom developed to light a candle at the burial place of great tzaddikim and on their yahrtzeit.
Lighting this candle with intention also serves as a reminder. Just as a flame can be rekindled after it goes out, so too there will come a time during Techias Hamaysim when the souls of the righteous will shine once again with full brightness.
When we light a candle for a neshama, we join the small flame of our own soul to the great flame of the tzaddik’s eternal light. In this moment we connect the deepest part of ourselves to the Ohr Ein Sof, the Infinite Light of Hashem, which rests upon the tzaddikim and upon all of Klal Yisroel.
This song was inspired at the Ohel of the Lubavitcher Rebbe where many Yidden come and light candles before they daven to Hashem at this holy place.
Zchusom yogein aleinu.
May we merit the day when all darkness is illuminated by the light of Hashem’s candles, the holy neshamos of His people.

Yoel Dovid Goldstein - A Shtick Hartz - Album Sampler
After the release of his last hit album in 2023, singer and composer Yoel Dovid Goldstein already knew what the next project would be. Since the release of his video, “A Kumzits to Remember” a few years ago, Yoel Dovid has been getting constant requests to release songs with “hartz”, with heart. Not just songs of yesteryear, but also some recent songs that struck a cord with listeners and pulled at their hearts.
So, Yoel Dovid went to his good friend, composer and producer Yitzy Waldner, who helped bring his last album Mizmor L'Dovid to fruition. The two sat and started compiling songs to be part of the new “A Shtick Hartz” album. As the songs were coming together, they realized this project was too big to be on one album. That’s where the idea came to release the albums in “parts.”
Introducing: “A Shtick Hartz Vol 1” produced by Yitzy Waldner and featuring the voice of Yoel Dovid Goldstein. Four songs are songs that Yoel Dovid grew up with and that he now wants to introduce to the youth of today. The other two are more recent. However, due to other hits on the albums, they have been overlooked by many fans. Songs include Ki Elokim and Vehachen from MBD, Asara Harugei Melchus from Lipa, Shomer Yisroel from Yossi Green as well as Dirshu from Shmueli Ungar and Ad Mosei from Yoel Dovid’s last album.

He Picked the Wrong Neighborhood
The story begins right before Shabbos, when a resident parked his vehicle and accidentally left his keys inside. A suspect walked by, noticed the car was unlocked with the keys still in it, and simply drove off.
After Shabbos, the owner realized his car was gone and reached out to Shomrim. NYPD was notified as well and a police report was made. The vehicle information and license plate were then shared with Shomrim volunteers, so they could keep their eyes open.
The next day, the owner suddenly spotted his vehicle parked on the next block. But this time the car was locked and the keys were missing. Since he did not have a spare key, he planned to change the locks. Before he could do that, the car disappeared again.
Today, Shomrim volunteers on patrol spotted the vehicle driving around local streets. Shomrim immediately notified NYPD and continued following the moving car until responding officers arrived. Police surrounded the vehicle and stopped it, and the suspect was taken into custody. The vehicle was secured and returned to its owner.
Important reminder:
Never leave your keys inside your car even for a moment.
One small mistake can turn into a very big headache.

Yosef Levy - You Never Know (Official Music Video)
This song poured out of so many moments I’ve lived and witnessed. I’ve watched people smile while their world quietly crumbled inside. No one in this world has a perfect life. Everyone is going through something. We must be kind and not judge because you really never know. Be the one who chooses kindness when it's easiest to criticize. We are all inherently good but sometimes hardships affect our behavior. You never know what someone is carrying when they walk into the room.
