Boro Park Shomrim received a hotline call reporting that a suspect had broken into a local synagogue and removed valuables. As Shomrim members responded to the scene and gathered information, including the direction of flight, Shomrim’s IT team immediately reviewed nearby surveillance footage.
The suspect was quickly identified running toward a train station, apparently attempting to flee the area by train.
Shomrim volunteers responded and located the suspect sitting on a bench inside the station. When members approached, the suspect realized what was happening, ran across the platform, and jumped down onto the elevated subway tracks — placing himself in extreme danger.
The NYPD arrived on scene and attempted to persuade the suspect to return safely to the platform. When he refused to comply, Emergency Service Unit (ESU) officers were requested. After a lengthy standoff, ESU officers were able to safely remove the suspect from the track area. He was then taken into custody for breaking into the synagogue and stealing property.
The suspect, Arthur Jack, is a career criminal with a lengthy history, including multiple burglary arrests. This incident marks his 18th arrest overall. He previously served 10 years in state prison on burglary charges and was released in 2023.
Thanks to the swift coordination between Boro Park Shomrim and the NYPD, the situation was resolved safely — once again demonstrating how community vigilance saves lives and stops crime.

A waste of time and effort, by the time you read this comment, you can bet your bottom dollar this filthy sewer rat has been released by a criminally insane liberal DemocRAT judge.
There is no law and order anymore in this DemonRat run jungle called NYC.
We the law abiding citizens MUST start to take the law in our own hands.
When apprehending a filthy rabies infected sewer rat like this gangster, instead of calling the Police we should be calling the sanitation department to haul away the garbage after breaking every bone in his body.
Remmember the 1970's when in Willamsburgh they organized the CHAPTZEM, well ! we got to bring it back
