TYH Presents: Higher | Aryeh Rubin

We were listening to a Yid in shul learning the halachic topic of Maalin Bakodesh V’Ein Moridin. This principle teaches that when something is set aside for a holy purpose, it can be elevated, but it should never be lowered or downgraded. This applies not just to objects, but to people too.

And then it clicked! This idea also has a powerful message for our personal avodah—our service to Hashem. Our neshama (soul) is constantly pulling us upwards, from the physical world towards greater spirituality.

This is what life is about: continuously climbing the ladder of growth, going higher and higher, striving for that ultimate connection and relationship with Hashem.

The release of this song on Rosh Chodesh Elul, is an incredible reminder of what we all strive for during this special time. Elul is a time when Hashem is extra desirous of us and when we can experience an extreme sense of closeness to Hashem. We can use that energy and power to propel our growth Higher and Higher.

Introducing Aryeh Rubin, an extremely talented musician and vocalist who as well as performing this song embodies a life of Maalin Bakodesh in everything that he does. Aryeh lives in Toms River, NJ and loves to bring new levels of simcha to all types of events.

The Rain - Single by TAI

The Maharal teaches that we are called "Adam" because, like the earth, our purpose is to cultivate the hidden potential within us. Just as the earth is designed to bring forth the seeds hidden within it, so too is man meant to actualize the hidden potential within himself.

Life is a journey through which Hashem gently showers us with the rain we need to grow, though often we fail to see it. We tend to shy away from challenges, seeking to run from discomfort at all costs. Yet, growth demands that we step into it. It is in this very discomfort that the potential for growth lies.

Straight off the success of his last single; “Ani Maamin”, Tai Gerszberg's new song, "The Rain," delves into this concept. Inspired by the Maharal's teachings, Tai wrote a song that will resonate with listeners on a deep emotional level. Produced by the acclaimed Mendy Portnoy, the song showcases Tai's powerful vocals and heartfelt lyrics, against a backdrop of captivating arrangements.

Tai shared the moment that sparked "The Rain." He recalled being caught in a downpour, instinctively trying to avoid the rain. But then, it struck him —he couldn't get any wetter than he already was. So he decided to stop resisting, to lean in, embrace the rain, and simply walk through it. To his surprise, he felt a sense of freedom. “True, I was soaked and looked like a total mess, but I was completely at ease, exactly in the situation I was meant to be in.”

This experience became the catalyst for "The Rain." Tai's music encourages us to lean into challenges, to embrace the discomfort, and to trust that the rain is essential for our growth.

"The Rain" is more than just a song; it's an invitation to explore our growth potential. By listening to the music and reflecting on its message, we can gain a deeper understanding of our potential and the importance of embracing the challenges Hashem sends us.

Tai’s “The Rain” is available everywhere Jewish music can be found.

5 Kolos #2 - EP Album Preview - R' Shloime Taussig

Two years after its debut, the second album in R’ Shloime Taussig’s EP album series is now hot off the press. The original 5 Kolos was one of the pioneers of the EP format in chasidic music and with siyata dishmaya both the format and content was very well received.

5 Kolos #2 was originally scheduled to be released nearly a year ago in October, but was postponed due to the matzav in Eretz Yisroel. It is now scheduled for release on Rosh Chodesh Elul and will be equal parts simcha, hartz and inspiration in preparation for the new year.

As on the previous EP, the very talented duo composed of Eli Klein and Yitzy Berry were the masters behind this project, arranging and producing the album as well as composing some of the infectious, highly singable tracks.

Among a choice collection of moving, sweeping and exciting songs carefully selected, the EP includes a surprise duet with R’ Hershy Rotenberg on the standout ‘Nagen Hamenagen’ composition. This track delivers an unexpected twist, bringing a fresh, vibrant energy in a musical style uncharacteristic of, but awesomely suited to R’ Shloime.
